okay /3/ I had a great idea. I want to make something like paperman on unity. Wait, wait. let me explain. I do the 3D animation, right? I then render as bitmaps, which I use to draw the lines on ilustrator. then I convert said lineart on 3D max. And then I sync the 3D with the lineart using a empty object as parent. Is it possible? Has anyone done it before?

Hey /3dcg/, I have a question; do you think you could make a model as comparatively good as the final boss in :"WoW: The Burning Crusade". As in, can you make an asset for a 2 billion dollar a year video-game? If yes, then you are literally able to create video-game models worth approximately $5 million dollars (and that's being humble). Holyshit, WoW was a shitfest, I mean there was re-skinned and reused models fucking everywhere. Even for many boss fights. And they had this excuse that if they hired more modellers and artists that the styles wouldn't blend, but look at anime, they can have as much 20-30 different animators working on a show and the style doesn't suddenly go from K-on to Jojo..

I have a small problem/question and I'm hoping someone can tell me a solution. I'm using 3DS Max So, I have a model that's somewhat symmetrical. It's a set of arms that were found out to be too long. What I have to do is remove polygons. However is there a way to remove the same section from one side without another? It can not require re-rigging and redoing UVs. In simpler terms, if I remove the upper arm from one part, I want the upper arm from the other arm removed too without trying to painfully match them up.

Anyone have any hints and tips for doing cloth folds in Mudbox? It's the one thing I just find utterly frustrating to get to look right. Doing simple folds on a shirt is OK but I've just tried to do a folded up sleeve and must have started it over like 5 times due to getting fed up with it not coming out right. Maybe it's because I can't find the right brush to use. I've been using the knife tool with a stamp that for the most parts creates great long, slight folds but when it comes to tight folds with this crumpled sleeve it's just useless.

Hi /3/ I am having some trouble and I could use help if anyone can offer any. Did a model in max the other day, made it both low and high poly, problem now is I am trying to use Xnormal to create normal maps using cages as instructed but I keep getting artifacts all over the place, does anyone know how to fix this?

OK so I'm experiencing Krakatoa for 3Dsmax. I red a lot of stuff online, but it seems there's something I don't understand. Here's my problem : I've got a FumeFX Simulation (a candle-like flame) converted in Particle Flow. I then try to render the result with Krakatoa. In PFFlow, the particle count is about 600000 ; I'm supposed to use Krakatoa's partitionning in order to "pre-render" .prt files that whill, because of the PFflow seed, increase the total particle count without. So I partitionned my 677 frames simulation with 15 partitions and a PFFlow count of 600000. I loaded'em in Krakatoa's PRTLoader. The problem is that no matter the number of partitions I create, my system looks exactly the same ! It seems to have the same number of particles, without partitions, without seed... While searching on the net, I found a lot of guides and tutos related to PRTs and the PRTLoader, but none of them speak about PRT's seed, so I guess I'm doing something wrong here. Have you any litterature about this ?

I already know my way around max and a few other programs fairly well, but just assume I want to self teach myself as much as I can with the goal of making a career in threeee deeeee
