dear /3/ i'm currently working on a project for university (graphic design) and am going to be rendering a scene for a poster. the setup for the scene should basically be a gallery situation – also known as white cube. i'm working with c4d and cant quite find the right way to achieve a scene like pic related. basically what i need is: white walls nice concrete floor and soft light so far i've found no tutorial that might help me with this simple setup, so i'm asking if someone might be so nice to guide me into the right direction or care to explain the best way of achieving pic related. thanks you very very much!

Hey everybody, i come to you in my moment of need. So, i'm kinda starting to use Arnold on maya and is fantastic, is fast and easy and the results are beautiful BUT when i tried to render a hair system it just didn't work. It renders everything but the hair. MtoA seems to be loading properly and i am using shave and haircut on Maya 2013. Also this message has appeared on the info as well... so i think this might be telling me what is wrong and so i've looked for it on the web but all i've found is people with the same issue, not a solution... Maya 2013 sourcing MEL override C:\solidangle\mtoadeploy\2013\scripts\mtoa\2013\mel\initDefaultFilters.mel pymel.internal.factories : WARNING : could not create a PyNode for manipulator type shaveBrushManip Any advise? besides "just use another render". Sure, i could use V-ray or mental ray too but Arnold speed is really appealing to me so if anyone knows how to fix this please do tell.

This is a technical question. I have a 8.5 mil polymesh and I made a retopologized version of it in Topogun. How do I transfer or extract the details of the high poly and apply them to the low poly? Should I project UVs in the highpoly and then project them accordingly in the lowpoly for the normal and disp maps? Is there a path of doing this, that I'm missing? I should say that I have no way of reconstructing subdivs in the highpoly mesh. Thanks in advance /3/

It's becoming painfully clear that the new /3/ mod is doing more harm than good to the board, and is doing so with such inconsistency and lack of transparency that it hurts the board and it's submissions. this needs to change.

I have a small problem/question and I'm hoping someone can tell me a solution. I'm using 3DS Max So, I have a model that's somewhat symmetrical. It's a set of arms that were found out to be too long. What I have to do is remove polygons. However is there a way to remove the same section from one side without another? It can not require re-rigging and redoing UVs. In simpler terms, if I remove the upper arm from one part, I want the upper arm from the other arm removed too without trying to painfully match them up.
