Why did IRay performance go down so much in the 680 and 780 compared to the 580. I want to give nvidia more money, I really do. But I can't afford their workstation cards, and so far 580s are second to only Titans. Why is this. http://www.migenius.com/products/nvidia-iray/iray-benchmarks

how do I create a mildly interactive turntable flash animation of my 3D sculpt? I am using Blender but don't have Macromedia Flash. it's supposed to allow people turning the sculpt with some simple slider. no realtime 3D necessary. I can't find any solution and it's like it is impossible without Flash or really advanced Actionscripting knowledge.

Hey guys, this is a reference request. I am currently modeling Samus helm bust it's coming along quite ok. I am just having an issue finding some art/references of the side and rear of the helmet. When I start, I thought I knew the character well enough to wing it. The result side views look def Ridley Scott inspired (Xenomorph head)=P

Please /3/.. I've spent all night screwing around with the Trax editor in maya, to no prevail. I need help. I'm looking for a way to organize animations. I'm animating a character for a game, and it has a billion animations.. putting them all after each other in a big line is such a mess. It's taking me ages to look up where I put what, and don't get me started on trying to add an extra attack animation behind the other attack animations halfway through the timeline. I tried to use the Trax editor to save them all as separate animation clips that I can move around and neatly organize, and it sort of works. The problem is converting them back to keyframes. You can only do this to one clip at a time, and only when there's no other keyframes. Hence, you need to merge all your clips into one big clip to convert them to keyframes. But when I do that, it puts a keyframe on every single frame, which is useless if I want to export it to a game engine. Is there any different way to get my animations clips all in a big row in one file? Is there a way to get the Trax editor to not be a dick about turning clips into keys? Is there any decent way to otherwise organize your animations? I'm losing hair over this..

I've been doing this 3d modeling class for a year now. All I want to know is why we can't just sit back and enjoy a good render? Isn't a 3D artist's life supposed to be all about wasting time? Now, I understand that my render's a bit grainy, but I'm working on it. Vray's a bitch most of the time.

I'm writing a game. It will be a side scroller type game. Maybe like Terraria. Maybe not. Anyway, I'm wondering what I should do about the graphics. Ideally I want a nice looking game but I don't really have the resources to do so. I want character cosmetics to be an important part of the game. I wanted to ask if you had any suggestions or insight into what type of models would be appropriate (2d models or some form of 3D models).
