I forgot about this board . . .. as you can probably guess, I am usually on /pol/, so forgive me if my pic 'offends' (not that I give a hoot) My question concerns facial texturing in cycles, currently I revert to the Blender internal render and projection painting but cycles does not support this (replaced by texture stencilling, I believe) .. . I have had countless attempts at getting any decent results, all resulting in failure; And the only other information available concerning this just refers to texturing clouds onto a cube ???? . . .Pah?? Do any of you guys have a decent method for facial texturing in cycles?

/3/ im having a problem with zbrush and i think you can help me. after i finish my model, i unwrap it, extract the normal map and the polypainted texture map than zremesh it, but after i remesh the UV cordinates get deleted on the lowpoly model. so how can i go about getting doing this?

After taking an extended break from 3d modeling of maybe 8 or so years I have started again. I have found many of the new modeling and texturing tools such as zbrush very interesting so I have begun to practice modeling more organic things and characters than I would have in the past. I was wondering if there has been any similar significant changes in character rigging and posing techniques. I would like to try and make a rig with fully functional simulated muscles and soft tissue. Which programs offer the best features for this task these days?

Using blender cycles, when rendering a emmisive sphere inside of a glass sphere it seems to create allot more noise, is there any way i can reduce this noise without increasing samples and rendering times by 100? Also, is there any way at all that i can enable GPU acceleration on an AMD card? i heard that only works on Nvidia cards.

What are some good colleges for 3D vfx and game design? http://www.princetonreview.com/top-undergraduate-schools-for-video-game-design.aspx I found this, which is pretty nice, but I'm looking more for 3D vfx courses than game design courses. Any recommendations? I'm based in North Carolina and lived in Florida, so schools in those two states would be preferable, albeit not mandatory.

hey /3/ Does anyone think they may have an idea of what could be causing the grainy shadow in picture related? (rendered shot displaying alphas) Im using Maya 2015 and my lighting setup consists of an IBL and 2 directional lights. 1 directional light is set to cast no shadows and the other is casting depth map shadows. When i delete the the 2 lights and the IBL, the grainy shadow remains..... Im sure your first suggestion would be to disable the default lighting in render settings but I assure you this has already been done. Any feedback is appreciated

saw dawn of the planet of the apes. I predict it will be the winner of best vfx for the oscars. It is just so good. The facial animation is the best I have seen just above avatar. Also great tier story.
