The earlier my videos go back, the more shit you can see I didn't know up until now. Now, I have pretty much a 100% understanding of the program. Atleast to make animations. Everything on this channel is literally shitty experimentation, as I'll be building an i7 setup and I'll be doing full length cartoons. I'm pretty much going for the robotic/non professional vibe anyway. Potato knishes is kind of my inspiration, hence my animation style.

in keyshot... does size matter does the size of the model matter at all on how the lighting and the environment will work on it. because i usually just set it to inches.

Hello /3/. I'm thinking of recreating this Hummer ad for practice purposes. I think I can handle most of the 2d and terrain transitions. I even made the pack shot sequence where I need only to make a similar earth. I used some stock footage low res earth and its not that bad, but its not what I'm looking for. I have some issues with the footage, but I think I will find something suitable for this. If you know any free or cheap sites with stock footage that will help me a lot. I need similar to the commercial footage but without the car :^) Hard to find such from a higher angle. I found lower angle footage that might work (emphasize on might) My general concerns are the 3d here. I'm going to use the element 3d plugin for after effects. Keep that in mind. Also I don't know anything about 3d so I'm going to use cheap techniques to get the needed results. Finding free models that I can use is going to be tricky. After that I have to make them work with the all the textures so I can import them into the plugin. Animation. I tried some tracking tests and the results were kinda bad. Do you guys think I can pull this off by tracking and pasting the data on 2d layer? Keep in mind that I might use a "clear" footage with no car. The task of making the model look at least a little bit real is going to be a challenge. All the reflections and lightning and shadows and.... The aim of this project is to practice. Its obviously not going to be perfect or even decent but its all for the journey! tl;dr Recreating ad. 2d is fairly easy, 3d is hell. Any tips and ideas that will make my life a little bit easier?

So I'm using blender. I make my models with a mirror modifyer in effect. When I'm done, i create the skeltal for the character. Then I do everything you need to make it rigged (weight paint, etc). While I'm weight painting, let's say for the arms and legs, why does the paint appear still on BOTH sides? When I move one arm after rigging, the other becones distorted and moves in the same pattern as the correct arm. What am I doing wrong?
