Got a problem with muh renders /3/. I made a fire effect from Maya fluids, then copied it into another scene. For some reason it won't show up when I render it with mental ray in the scene I copied it into, only in the scene I made it in. I even tried saving it as a preset and applying it to a separate fluid object in the scene I want to render it in but it doesn't work that way either. Did I fuck up my render settings or something?

I've got a pretty specific question I have a low-poly, flat-shaded human model and I wish to make certain quads perfectly flat. So basically, I don't want to see the two tris as seen in the picture. I want a homogeneous quad. In Blender, how would I go about doing that? I'm guessing I would need some king of tool to make a face monoplanar?

Hi, so this is my first time I created something in Blender, that I thought of actually worth rendering. I'm curious about your feedback, specifically about the lighting I chose and maybe some tips on how I can make the material a bit "whiter" without loosing too much of the glossy effect. Basically I just mixed glossy shaders and diffuse shaders wild together till I somewhat had what i wanted =D

Hey guys, my team is currently doing a college school project and we're looking for a 3D artist that can create a model as well as simple animations such as idle, walking, etc. The project is currently in its alpha stage and all assets will need to be finished by late March. The project will also be presented to people from industry according to the instructor, but whom and where is still to be determined. I'm looking for some reading on creating a rig from scratch in 3ds max. I guess it's not really a software-specific process, but I'm not sure how to set up IKs and the like for a bipedal rig.. 3dsMax noob here - the first time I baked my AO and normal maps they came out fine, but there were a few things I wanted to change with the UV and stuff - now when I go to bake them the top 3/4 of them are totally black and then the rest bakes as normal - anyone know how to fix this? I've always wondered. Do I suck dick at UV packing, or am I halfway decent. Most programs I've used do an even worse job than me sometimes it feels. Anything I can do to improve? Here's an example of my work. This is so that every island has the same resolution.
