Hello fellow artists! I have a question about Zbrush. As far as i remeber there is a button that locks rotation around the object so it will be always centered when you move around it. I googled for that button and couldnt find it. Please can you help me and tell how to lock that shit?

I want these created exactly in 3D, but some things re-imagined such as making the tree's ,ground,sky,clouds more realistic looking. I want to know the sort of budget i'll need for these, would $1000USD be enough to be taken seriously by a 3d artist? or would i be taken more seriously if payment was an hourly rate? what time frame would i be expecting for this, what's the best way to get it built what program? is there anything else apart from UDK,Unity crisis etc thats a good engine to build and run it in. what's involved for this project such as dividing things into group's the background,foreground, lighting illumination,shaders,textures resolution, etc? do I need to make a PDF explaining what i want or game document. do i need a higher resolution and concept art for this stage, will there need to be contract between myself and the artist involved? can the clouds be done with particle effects using 3D max. or is there plugin that can be used?. would a matte painting for the background be a good choice? what sort of polycount would i be expecting for this?. how do i get that skull to show through the clouds only when lightning strikes in the background, like its glowing. should the rain be a looped animation?. im hoping someone can use their imagination, and think up different way's this could be accomplished. and im hoping those same guidelines described to me can be used to make more 3D stage remake's. I wish to get as many as i can done. if you have a portfolio 3D environment work you've done, and your qualified id like to see your work. maybe you will get picked for the commission and payed with paypal.

Hey /3/ what method or programs do you use for unwrapping. I personally have always enjoyed roadkill or 3d coat. But ive not been enjoying it as much. Is there any modern version to doing this because i wish i could just push a button and get a clean unwrap. Dont say that's not possible, its lazy, but not impossible.

/3/ I need assistance. Im new to animating and i learned how to rig my mesh, my bones and controllers are rigged perfectly, but when it comes to adding it to my mesh the weight painting stage what fucks me over... the pills are thin ass hell (as shown in picture) with huge deep red area of effect that is almost unmanageable... any ideas how i can fix this up?

Hey /3/ what am I doing wrong with adaptive skin? In the head area it looks very jaggedy and all the branches on the head are kind of morphing together as opposed to staying apart and the face is very sharp. Is there something else I should be doing?

Hey /3/, >inb4, you're in over your head... I realize this.. I'm pretty new to 3d modelling and want to make a game with Unity. I aim to do low-poly models akin to the PS1 or N64 for simplicity's sake. Software wise I have: Sketch-up Wings 3d Blender Out of all of these, I know how to use Sketch-up the best, I don't know much of anything about Blender, and I am trying to learn Wings. I plan to use Sketch-up for buildings and terrain, Wings for models and characters, and Blender for animation and rigging. What I want to know is: a) Do these programs work well for the jobs I "assigned" them? b) What kinds of tips do you have for low-poly models? c) General tips.... ty...

I need to reduce this file from 2.8 MB to less than 2 MB to post it on [s4s]. But I don't know how so I'm asking you experts how to. I don't mind cutting in half the resolution, frame rate, or colors. So 400x300 or higher, 10 fps or higher, 256 colors or higher, etc. is fine as long as it's below 2 MB. Thank you. Hello. Gotta create with MotionCapture some sort of short movie. But it's mo tl ikely comparable with Xbox Kinect and its features and therefore can't do any mimic. Also not very athethic to do very awesome fancy stuff. Do you guys have any ideas or reference videos? Like said, it doesn't need to be long. It's most likely for experimental purposes.

Hey /g/, I'm trying to work on a outdoor level in Unity based on a real life location and I was wondering if there was an easier way of going about getting the general topography down and then going in and cleaning up the details. I'm trying to get a height map of park but I don't know where to look. I was thinking about trying to use something like Google Maps or Google Earth but I'm not finding anything. Does anyone know a good location or a method of extracting a height map of a real life location?
