I was reading about greek mythology on wikipedia, and followed hyperlinks. Just now, i ended up on Atlantis and Lemuria. This had me thinking: Through time, the continents have been drifting appart. Seeing as the earth is round, this means that they will eventually drift back together, am i right? Following the current path, america will drift into Asia, Africa into Antarctica and so on. Any idea how long this will take? For some reason, i find this terribly interesting.

>A giraffe's final goodbye to dying zoo worker >Amsterdam: A giraffe gave a lick to a dying man who asked as a last wish to be taken to Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where he had done odd jobs for 25 years. >Mario Eijs, who is mentally disabled, had developed a brain tumour and had difficulty walking or speaking. He wanted to pay a final visit to the co-workers and animals he loved. >Several giraffes became curious when Eijs was brought to their inside enclosure on March 19. >"Mario got a lick on his nose after a lot of snuffles," Foundation worker Olaf Exoo said in a written summary of the day. >Exoo said it was "a last greeting to each other that gave everybody watching goose bumps."

I need your help, /an/. I have two chinchillas [one and half year old, and year old] and 7 years old yorkshire terrier. My mom bought a new yorkshire puppy two days ago, and since that, the oldest chinchilla is barking every time it sees the puppy. I tried to calm it by talking to it, feeding it's favourite treats etc but nothing seems to work. The younger chin doesn't give a shit and acts normal. But I'm scared that the older one will get sick or something. It looks so damn scared.

/tv/ here. Please help save our board. We have been getting raided for two years by unknown operatives posting spam from the prologue from The Dark Knight, specifically the exchange "You're a big guy", "For you" - but also other sections of that scene a other select portions of the movie. Brothers, please. I know we haven't always got along, but you must help us end this madness. You're our only hope.

Was given this plant a week or so ago and I have no clue what it is and I'd kind of like to not kill it, the tag it came with just said bonsai and that it likes bright light and to mist daily during active growth. Can any one help me ID this little guy?

So I have 2 dogs, a Puggle (mix of a Pug and a Beagle about the size of a Pug) and a mixed breed but mostly Pit Bull named Rosie. The problem is Rosie is still a puppy only 3 months old and likes to nip and play with the older dog, about 6. The older dog doesn't always wants to play but does occasionally like to run around with the puppy. Now the issue is sometimes the puppy wont stop bothering my other dog and they don't play fight, they actually fight fight. Real biting and they draw blood sometimes. As of now since Rosie is just a puppy they're about the same size, the puppy being a bit bigger actually. And since she's a Pitbull she'll only get bigger and bigger. These fights could become deadly for my other dog. I don't want to keep them separate at all times because they will be living together for many years to come I hope. They do like to play like I said also so I wouldn't want to stop them. They fight seriously about once a month now. TL;DR Puppy and dog like to fight for real occasionally. Puppy will only get bigger with time while other dog stays same size. Could be issue. Wut do? Pic semi related. Just for a size comparison. Full grown Pug and full grown Pitbull. You see the problem.

ITT: Times when your pet nearly gave you a heart attack >be owner of 4 land hermit crabs >protip: hermit crabs are pretty fucking high maintenance >stupidly decide to leave them alone for 4 days while i go skiing, thinking that giving them a pile of oats and some peanuts would be enough for them >it's not like one of them will suddenly decide to molt and almost get cannibalized, amirite? >rite? > >fast forward to the day i get back from my trip >all but one of the crabs are underground >ohfuck.jpg >smell that wretched, rotten, fishy, death smell that all long-time hermit crab owners are familiar with >ohdoublefuck.jpg >remove the three crabs that are fucking around and making me have an aneurysm >remove all the toys and crab furniture and put them all into the 10 gallon iso tank >gently dig around the 20 gallon full of 50lbs of sand (trying to find a quarter-sized hermit crab in that much sand without killing it is fucking intense) for a half hour >find several leg parts, small claws, etc >nearly burst into treats >finally come across a small hole >i see a pile of sand shift around quite a bit >loudestsighofreliefeverrecorded.mp3 >quickly bury him again >my fucking face when skiing trips: never again

Hey /an/, I killed a cat tonight with my car on accident. I was driving home when a cat (Pic related, not the actual cat, but damn similar) dashed out in front of my car. I couldn't slam on my brakes because a car behind me was right there, would of certainly resulted in a car accident, so I tried to swerve. Unfortunately the cat decided to run in my same direction, which I ended up running over him. Sadly, he didn't die instantly. He was moaning in the road with a huge gash on his leg, chest, and face. I put him in my car and took him to the closest emergency vet I could find, but he died before I reached them. He didn't have a chip or collar, so sadly there is no way of contacting the owner (If any). I have no real reason for posting this other than the fact that I feel extremely bad about it. I know I had almost no way of preventing it, but I still feel bad that I couldn't find a way to stop it from happening in the short time I had to react. Post happy animal pictures to cheer me up. Or tell me to kill myself, either way.

What animals make you cringe, /an/? What animal makes you recoil in fear and disgust? Not necessarily deadly or vicious, but just personally stomach turning. For me, it would have to be the Wolf Snail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_aZnfMZ0hs [Embed]
