Hi /an/, what is the general consensus on declawing? I am strongly against it, and it's become a point of contention with my s.o. to the point that I'm about to find an apartment of my own. She is being a madwoman about wanting to get my cat declawed. She is a super sweet cat and almost never claws anything but the post, but she has damaged a leather bedroom set by walking and jumping on it. She's going ballistic using every appeal to emotion in the book. Am I really in the wrong here for having such a strong opinion on the matter? I don't think I've ever met anyone who was so dead set on mutilating an animal because of some furniture.

Does anyone here know anything about ibis, or know where to find care information on them? I've been searching around, but can't really find anything. Probably will have to try getting information from a zoo, or someone who breeds them. I found out sacred ibis are actually affordable, and seem to meet all the things I wanted in a bird. (Large, quiet, etc) Can pretty much any bird be tamed down to be totally comfortable with people if you hand raise it or get it young enough? They seem to have potential for it, there are a bunch of videos of wild ones getting tame enough for people to feed them and get up close and whatnot. Any information from bird people would be really helpful

I've been watching the Animal Planet Dog101 and some dog documentaries lately. I want to get a dog, but I want to get one that fits my lifestyle and who will be happy being with me. I was hoping you guys could give me some insight. I'll be living in Pleasanton, California (San Fran suburb); temps 38 in low winters, 86 in high summers. I'll be in an apartment. And my workplace allows everyone to bring their dogs to work regularly. S/he'll need to be able to play well with other dogs in the office and be fine living in an apartment otherwise. There needs to be very low grooming needs. And I'd like to cycle to work, so I'd like a dog that can run on a leash next to my bike. Lovable, highly trainable, loyal. What does /an/ think would be the best fit for me?

Hello /an/, I am not familiar with this board, so I am sorry if you hate this kind of question or anything. But I'm with a problem. My cat doesn't know how to use the sandbox. When I found her she was already an adult and she wasn't previously trainned by her first owner. I live in a house, so this shouldn't be a matter since there is enough "bathroom" for her. The problem is, the neighbors are complaining a lot about because she started defecating at their soil. How can I make my cat use the sandbox, even though she is an adult cat and has never used it before?

This slut speaks about animal safety but buys fur, leather, and eats animals. She does it just to get people to like her old titties. http://instagram.com/horrorwhore Is it cool to fake it just to fill a lonely void or does this whore deserve to be outed?

So me mum just got this extremely hyper puppy, and it's pissing off her older, calmer dog, who often growls and even snips at the puppy when it tries to jump on him and teeth on his face I assured me mum that the growling/biting was purely disciplinary, and it would tech the puppy to be less of an annoying little shit, but she's a massive stress case and doesn't want to see the puppy get hurt My question is: should I just let the older dog bite the puppy? The older dog is very tolerant of the puppy, and he just loses it every now and again, will the puppy eventually calm down? Pic unrelated

So I adopted a pair of parakeets a month ago. They're siblings, they share a cage and theyre fully flighted. I'm having difficulty hand taming them. Everywhere I ask for help the only response I get is "Well, you shouldnt have gotten two at once" Hindsight is 20/20, I still have two birds that want nothing to do with me and I'm at a loss at what to do. One will step on my hand pretty readily to take a treat and the other does the same but very rarely. They'll climb on me when they're let out as well. Lately they've been freaking out whenever I go near their cage, even to feed and water them, and have always waddled or flew away if my hand gets anywhere near them. I know birds take time but I admit I'm getting a bit frustrated.

>During the Napoleonic Wars, a French ship of the type chasse marée was wrecked off the coast of Hartlepool. The only survivor was a monkey, allegedly wearing a French uniform to provide amusement for the crew. On finding the monkey, some locals decided to hold an impromptu trial on the beach; since the monkey was unable to answer their questions and because they had seen neither a monkey nor a Frenchman before, they concluded that the monkey was in fact a French spy. Being found guilty, the animal was duly sentenced to death and hanged on the beach. The vertical part of the ship's mast he was hanged from is still visible on the beach between the Pilot pier and the Heugh.
