Why is it so fucking confusing and hard to shop online for food? I've sat here for the past two hours trying to get my fucking safeway account to work only to find out they don't deliver to my area anyway, so I tried Amazon and fuck me if they aren't any less confusing! Fuck it all, what do you guys do when you want to order something from online? I thought it would be cheaper, but if it's going to be this much of a pain in the ass I don't know if it's worth it.

So I've got some chicken breasts in my freezer. They are prolly 8 months old but they are freezer burn. The best buy date is still not for another 8 months. Since they are freezer burn, I'd rather not use them to eat just naked on a plate by themselves but should I even bother throwing them into some soup or crock pot or something. What do? inb4 you should by a whole chicken for soup inb4 you should make them with jalapenos

Cookbook recommendation thread? I know some people on the board really don't like Delia, but her recipes are just completely idiot proof. There's a lot of good basics, principals of cooking etc and it's heavy enough to kill a cat. I'm looking for some good books regarding any Latin American cuisine, since I only have one or two recipes of that sort of food and I really want to expand my knowledge as it were. Which ones would you say are best?

Moules marinière and french bread

As title suggests, I'm making Moules marinière with fresh, homemade french bread tonight cooks. I'm using a slightly modified version of Felicity Cloake's recipe for the Moules and an allrecipes.com recipe for the bread (again, slightly tweaked.) Any tips or hints you fine coo/ck/s feel like giving me? Alternatively, Shellfish/french cooking appreciation thread.

So I tried Taco Bell's breakfast burrito this morning. I asked for the sausage version but somehow got the steak version, Fresco-style. The pico de gallo was really the only flavor in the whole thing. The eggs were flavorless (they're eggs) and the steak was flavorless and oddly chewy. I think I might have had better luck with the sausage, and I will return again to try that. Flavor aside, the quality of the eggs was surprisingly good - it was clear that they were cooked onsite, not frozen or premade like Dunkin Donuts. The overall consistency of the burrito was something close to homemade. If they seasoned their steak better it would have helped a lot, but like I said, a saltier meat like sausage or bacon would probably suffice. The new hot sauce they have specifically for breakfast is pretty good, but their standard sauces work just as well on the breakfast items. I thought their verde sauce worked especially well on the steak burrito. The hash brown was nothing to write home about, McD's does it a million times better. Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5 stoners. There's potential here.

Why aren't there more fast-food / drive-thru Italian places like Fazoli's? Why are burgers and Taco Bell basically all there is? Why no Italian, Indian, Greek/Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, etc.? God I fucking love going to Fazoli's and getting a big slab of lasagna and breadsticks from my car, or some cheap greasy pizza, or a big pile of fettuccini alfredo. It's the ONLY place I can do that. Wouldn't you love to do that with, say, chicken vindaloo or saag paneer? Big buckets of it to eat in the car, and garlic naan wrapped in foil. nom nom nom nom nom.

Separating skin/bone from pork before or after cooking

I've made pork roasts in a slow cooker a couple times now, and when I do it, I've separated the meat from the skin/bone before cooking it. Recently, a friend said something about leaving it all intact while it cooks, and separating the skin and bone later. Something about all dat extra delicious fat or something. What do you guys think?
