Hey /gd/, I founded a website called CollegeCrap.org (it's still a prototype, so don't judge if you check it out) I feel like the logo can be improved, but I have no logo design experience. Can anyone do better than this?

Hi /gd So I've recently found myself an internship with a company doing posters, flyers, and other such media. I'm fresh out of school and need more experience, so I'm fine with the fact that it's unpaid. When given a new assignment, I found out that this publishing company is asking for money from people who submit their work for an anthology book. Publishing companies shouldn't ask a fee of $300 to submit work, so it turns out the company I'm working for is a scam company. What should I do? I'm getting experience making media and gathering references, but will they matter at all if the source I'm getting them from isn't legit? Should I quit this internship? Is it even that big of a deal?

This is my first design using Adobe Illustrator, what do you guys think? It's a simple design that I will be using for my pet project as a DJ unless I think of anything else.

So I'm curious /gd/, for anyone who wants to start their own small business, or even just get their own designs realized for fun, where does one go about getting things printed? not just on paper, but on mouspads, phone covers, anything they like really. I always see sites like cafe press and stuff like that, but they seem a bit limited/cheesy. Is it just a matter of being crafty and figuring out different ways o get your designs on things or is there a standard way to do this?

Any tips on charging customers for graphic logos done? I don't want the logo stolen even though I'm sending them samples of possible ideas, so is there a certain way I do the water mark so that it can't be used? And how do I specifically charge for time/more work done on logo

Good evening friends, I'm doing a picture for my little brother and I would like the opinion of you. Commas are bothering me. I decided to paint them red, was a mistake?

Does anyone know what kind of font this is? Any 80/90s kids around who know how to make this with analog gear (camcorders, vcrs)? Thanks!

This might be considered a very confusing thread. Pic related is a texture of a cigarette case, from the video game Resident Evil 4. It's a 10 year old game so the texture doesn't exist in higher resolution than this. My question is, if anyone in the world can read the text on the box. The text looks sort of cyrillic to me, but I don't know. Anyone does? Or better yet, if anyone recognizes the design.

Ey /gd/ I need some help with Photoshop for a quick project I'm doing. I've been using CS4 for about 5 years now, but I never really got into it until this year and now that I'm doing some digital artwork I'm struggling to find the answer I need. My question involves image size & resolution. I've been trying to make an imagine that's 2.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. At 300 pixels/in that's giving me 750 px wide and 1050 px high. The issue is that when I finish the image, it's huge in visual size. On the forums that I post them too, it takes up a large amount of the screen. I understand that the inches don't matter so much as the pixel count but I can't figure out how to reduce the image's digital size and keep it nicely defined. I mean, obviously this should be possible - we see small graphics everywhere that are clean and clear and under control. ;) On top of wanting to know how to keep high quality with a smaller image I also want to know how it works. I just can't wrap my head around it because I figure, the pixels are what's determining that quality & size at the same time. Reducing one reduces the other in scale. Halp D:

Hey guys, what's up? (I know it's not /r/ but i think this board is the best to achieve this) I played with my old band for 9 years and after a long story wiritten along these years, we split up and left a bunch of fans thisty for some new material. It's been 4 years since we separate. With the exception of the former bass player, we decided to reunite ourselves to do what we knew how to do best, i'm talking about music, with a brand new band. We are finishing the very first song of this project and we still in need of a fine artowrk for this single, called "Compêndio", "Compendium" in english (we're from Brazil). I wonder if there's any drawbros/graphicdesignersbros out there willing to help us out? It can even be signed with the name of the artist. My skype ID is Franklin Dahm. Feel free to add me so we can brainstorm a little and i can even send you the demo version of the song (as I said before, it's not done yet) Thanks in advance, guise!

For all you professional designers, I’m wondering how often you deal with traditional forms of art like illustration and painting. Honestly, I like them but I’ve never been big on them, as much as I am on grid layout, typography, etc. As a designer for say, an ad agency or a large company, how often do you deal with traditional types of art, versus the usual sketching to InDesign?
