Hey /k/ If I am going to sell a pistol, where can I get the most money for it? Will a gun store really rip me off that badly? Should I go the online route instead? I need to pay a bill so I could use the money ASAP. Also have a few hundred rounds of ammo for it. Pic related, not mine but same model and style of what I am trying to sell.

Which is most likely to stop a charging grizzly bear, 10 rounds from an AK-47 (7.62x39) or ten rounds from an AK-74 (5.45x39)?

Say bye to firearms Michigan. Rudy Hobbs is going to win and introduce a law where anyone can have your guns taken away and prevent you from buying more.

How much is the SKSs accuracy affected by heat? Does the SKS string as bad as some Mosins? In this case I'm taking about a Type 56 SKS

Can anyone actually prove with a scale the VZ58 is actually lighter than a stamped receiver AKM? How could that be possible? Where is the major weight difference coming from? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TexeQ0QPFU

/k/, I'm planning on buying my friends GP-5 gas masks as gifts. I've found a surplus store 20 minutes from my home that has them for $10 each, and I intend to go check that out later this week. The problem is the filters. I've read a few things about them online in the last few days and I'm getting really contradictory reports. Some people insist that all but the very newest filters for GP-5s (and most other gas masks) are deadly toxic because they contain asbestos, chromium/chromium gas, or degraded paper/metal flakes. But some sources have said that they're totally safe so long as they were manufactured after1960, others say after the mid-90s, still others say so long as they were kept sealed and had no chromium then they keep indefinitely. I don't want to poison my friends or wreck their throats/lungs with charcoal dust, help!

Are you tired of hiding your power level? Do you crave some sort of social interaction beyond hitting your mom up for mountain dew money? Want to blow the shit out of some desert? Do you live in SoKal, Souther Nevada, or the Northwestern AZ? If you awkwardly mumbled yes to these questions, then you should come on out to >INNADESERT2014 Yes you to can now enjoy such luxuries as, >the sun >the heat >dirt, all organic btw >rocks and anything else not mentioned. This is your chance to discuss in person at great length such topics as >1000 Marines vs The Sun >.45 acp vs 9mm-Which caliber is right for your basement defense? >The army should do "______" >If OP delivers, is he still a faggat? When and where is this glorious event happening? >August 29-31 @ Lovell Canyon >About 30 minutes northwest of las vegas Be sure to ask your mom to borrow the car in advance.

How secure are clamp on gas block like pic related? I'm trying to find a gas block with flip up sights or a flat top that still has a bayonet lug. I would really liked to get a pinned one but the only pinned ones I can find that still have a bayonet lug are the A post sights. Can these clamps hold up to actually using the bayonet?

some doodles I made during a meeting about some /k/ related invention ideas any glaring reason why any of these wouldn't work? Idea 1: basically a stun-bayonet A; rail mount B; remote (hold for on) C; chassis, contains batteries and electronics D; A cylinder with two holes in it held by springs which are 1 in long when uncompressed; cylinder is 1.5 inches long E; two electrified spikes (think icepick general dimensions); spikes are 3 inches long The springs require some force to compress; this is for safety reasons, as only half an inch of the spikes should be exposed during normal use. Obviously not going to be incredibly effective against plate or something, but if you're close to someone wearing plates you could theoretically get it through the adjoining mesh and completely disable them Idea 2: Gas recoil compensator A; rail mount B; co2 tubes C; tubes D; dial for adjusting blowback strength Basically, this is for use on light automatic weapons; very simple function, co2 vented on cartridge ejection to offset climb during continued firing. dial adjusts for different blow-back intensity based on the weight/cartridge of your gun Idea 3: autocannon armed light vehicles why aren't they in wide production? it seems like an incredibly cost effective military vehicle; heavy armor has gone the way of the battleship; mass produced high speed medium firepower troop vehicles would be incredibly effective in urban combat where the cost of deploying/replacing heavy armor is too great thoughts?

If everyone in the US recieved a standard issue knife on their 18th birthday, would knife crime rise? If everyone in the US recieved a standard issue pistol on their 22nd birthday (not 21 because most people graduate from 4-year colleges at this age), would gun crime rise? How are the two situations different? Does the type of weapon in question matter?
