Now that I've exhausted my Lovecraft collection, I really want to read this bro, Lord Dunsany. Only problem is he has like 50+ books. The only thing I've read by him thusfar is Idle Days on the Yann. Where do I start /lit/? Also, what are the best editions to get? I don't want to Gutenberg it; I don't like reading on screens.

Yo /lit/ What are some good fantasy series? Looking for anything like LotR, Silmarillion, The Riftwar Sagas, The Axix Trilogy (aka Wayfarer Redemption Series, also any other shit by Sara Douglass) I tried out A Malazan Book of the Fallen but its incredibly hard to get into. The first few chapters of tbe first book are incredibly choppy with no apparent move from one place to another. The scene just... changes. I didn't really like it, though I assume the story itself is probably quite good, the author is shit. Any suggestions? I read the sticky but it wasn't much help. Pic unrelated... mostly

What are some good existential books, /lit/? I'm 19 and I've been having an ongoing existential crisis since I was 7, when I realized that my parents would die before me and I'd be alone without any family someday. I've been struggling trying to find my place anywhere, and I haven't found any comfort in religion as hard as I've tried to believe in God. I've had nightmares ever since I was a child of dying and being enveloped in total blackness, but still somehow being able to think, alone for fucking eternity. A kid so young shouldn't have to go through that kind of depression, I hope I'm not coming off as a little emo faggot. Anyway, I'm just looking for books that I could relate to on that level, and maybe gain something from.

Why is this a good poem? It won the Sparks new grad award. Maybe I don't get poetry. Two Tankas Ten lines to doll-up the hearsay woman, old crow with gimlet eyes. Ear to the telephone, hands on the clothesline. Patch quilts, patch quilts. Five now, to straighten jars and jars, pickles and jam, turn the moose soup down. Juice glass with lilac perfume. Homemade cream near the face pan.

Once as a little kid I read a book in my English class about a Southern-English city in which the owner of a supermarket's daughter got kidnapped by an unknown child of him. The whole story's about the brother who chases after the kidnapper and ends with the kidnapper shooting himself through the head and becoming handicapped by it. The little girl kept saying something about "The storm is coming" and I remember a scene where a doll falls off a cliff and they think the girl fell. Please help me I've been searching this damned book for hours Pic related, it's a cliff

Hello, my fellow /lit/erates. I've recently been reading Blood Meridian, as well as a few of Lovecraft's stories, and I'm wondering, is there any book like pic related? A sort of Western-with-hints-of-cosmic-horror type thing. Maybe a little more explicit than TD, but no more than what Lovecraft's. Thanks

Has anyone here ever read The Neverending Story? I was thinking of what book to get next, then came on this idea. I loved the movie as a kid, and reading the wiki article leads me to believe the book has some pretty neat themes and tone. I am concerned about it being a translation though, and whether it might be too childish. Thoughts?
