Heading off to college. Bringing my old mountain bike I had back when I was 15, pic related. Anyone have advice for biking around campus? Best way to lock up bikes, storage, etc? My campus is a state school with individual bike lanes separate from the roadway.

corrosion problems on steel bike

Hi /n/, Some time ago, I bought the pictured road bike (no pics with components, sorry, though it is outfitted with some old campag record), as it was the best price/quality ratio I could find in my size and I needed a way to commute urgently. There were small spots of surface rust but I had no time to deal with them at the time. I finally have that time, and upon closer inspection, paint began bubbling in some places. (pics to come) The inside of the frame is also rusted. google gives some conradicting results and mostly deals with prevention rather than treatment, anyone has experience with this? Also, the quill stem appears to be frozen in place, any advice? I may ride it as-is, but it is a tad too long and low for me.

I know it's a department store bike but I've been looking at the reviews and it seems like it's a pretty nice buy for the price. I'm looking to get something to hold me over until I can get a more serious bike. plus I can probably get it for less than the MSRP. my question is: does anyone on /n/ have any experience with this line of bikes?

I've tried this in each of the BQG's with no result I got this job. I'm starting soon and the manager has so far been shit at explaining things. I could use advice on buying a messenger bag that can actually be used for carrying people's shit to them quickly. It should probably have a cross strap so it actually stays in place. It should be easy to whip around and open up in a hurry. It should have some kind of pouch on the shoulder strap where I can put my phone and keys (pockets on pants and jerseys don't zip, don't want to leave my phone unattended on my bike) I went to a few stores today and couldn't find even a cheap knockoff since pseudo-messenger bags apparently don't sell well to fedoras anymore

I'm about to buy this fixed-gear. I'm looking to get into cycling and my old bike needs new components from the frame up. I've always wanted a fixie anyways. Please let me know what you think, is this a good deal? It looks good minus some nicks in the paint and cracks in the tires.

Guys, what if I put Huffy or some other BSO brand stickers over the Trek decal on my steel mtb? You think thieves would be like "fug dat" and move on? Unless said thief knew what marginally higher end derailleurs and pedals and stuff looked like

While I was out riding in Melbourne yesterday, my route took me through taxi alley, aka Murphy St, Richmond. I saw these bits of government propaganda... I can believe that the highest income earners will be given free travel during the day (though most of them will end up paying for all day travel anyway when they commute in the evening) but what are the odds that the second one will ever happen?

"Claud Butler- Elite Road Bike with 2 sets of Lezyne lights , 6x continental (race 28 /700c) inner tubes, Kryptonite Series2 D lock with cable , Bell Helmet , backpack , puncture repair kit, tool kit , bike oil, co2 pump with refil ,and Topeak foot pump" All for £300. Worth it, /n/? I'm 6" 2 so slightly worried the frame is too small

hey /n, I've been out of the bike world for probably 3 years now. I used to ride 20-30 miles a day, and occasional centuries on weekends. Anyways, I want to get back into it. I still have my felt 85 which I recently cleaned up, but I was trying to help a family member find a bike on craigslist, and I saw this http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/bik/4619724571.html Cyclocross always interested me, I just never had a bike for it. I have a redline dirt jumper that weighs 5000lbs, but other than that I've never really heard fuck all about them. Anyone know anything about them? The components sound breddy good for $500 though, and it's my size. Also, how are cyclocross bikes on roads?

Hi fellas, I'm looking for a suspension fork but I'm not sure where to look. Anyways, to fit my bike it needs: - 9mm QR - 1 1/8inch straight steerer tube - 90-120mm travel - V-brake posts preferred so I don't have to buy new brakes and hubs right out the bat, but I would love to upgrade to discs later on when funds permit - Bombproof, or close as you can get to it - >$400

Hey /n/. It's been a long time since there's been a 4chan soccer cup thread and it's about time that some changes were made. This official poll is made for /n/ users to be able to pick the changes they want for the team and make any suggestions they have https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13L9627x9Iqwe4IqFE9xrRQX5bN8z4vsqZg_yW0h9nss/viewform If you don't know about the 4chan soccer cup, it's an AI vs AI tournament in Pro Evolution Soccer, you can read more about it non http://implyingrigged.info Thanks for you time, any constructive comments are welcomed!
