What should be my first upgrade on a road bike to improve performance? I have an aluminum 105 bike. I'm thinking either a crabon frame or wheelset, what do you guys think?

What do you people think of this bike (Cannondale Hooligan 2014)? Has anyone had any experience with it? What's it like? Is it worth £700? Should I buy?

I've never really visited this board before. Looks like it's mostly bikes and trains. But does anybody here like roads? Can we have a road thread? Pic related: it's the turbine interchange at I-295 and Butler Blvd in Jacksonville.

Why is the pedelec market such shit? Almost all electric bicycle kits are heavy hub motors, usually with a manual throttle. That's moped stuff. A proper pedelec should be light, mid mounted, be pedal assist only, and be decently incorporated into the frame much the same way a hub motor is nicely incorporated into a wheel. The *only* thing I can find that even comes close is the gruber/vivax assist. Pic related. http://www.vivax-assist.com/en/unternehmen/index.php Unfortunately it's only 200W when the most widespread standard is 250W, it still uses a manual throttle, the battery is a small L-ion instead of LFP (and is designed to be mounted in a suboptimal position), and it's absurdly expensive. What the fuck, /n/?

So I guess I'll start the next /gag/ thread, since the old one 404'd. I'll start off with a story. >be me >day of the practical test (for PPL) >fly from home airport to other nearby airport where the test is to be >land safely, find my way to the FBO >spot a place to park the airplane >start going over to that spot >there is a chain link fence against the tie-down areas >see guy in a car, waiting for me to pass >he's watching me >get the sense that he might be the DPE >very carefully maneuver the plane to the markings, then start to turn >suddenly feel a jolt and hear a loud sound ;_; >turn off engine >open plane door, embarrassed, thinking the guy watching me is my DPE >he says "good thing you stopped when you did!" >I ask if he is [DPE's name] >he's not >I ask if he saw what I hit (I though the propeller had hit a rock or something) >he shows me the end of the wing had touched the fence >I see the strobe light broken off and a scratch in the paint >could have been much worse, but still feeling ashamed / embarrassed >guy holds the fence back so I can push the plane back >say thanks, climb into plane again, start it up and park the plane in the proper position >now a little late at this point >grab all my documents and run into the FBO >do oral exam, then the flying portion >pass >fly home with pilot's license >that mixture of good and bad feels

Howdy /n/nr's I was incapped for a long time due to an injury that prevented me from walking, even. I am getting better, but I gained a lot of weight I intend on losing. I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out some kit sizes. I want a winter kit to wear, I am looking at some of these kits and they all seem way too small for me. even XXXL seems a few sizes too small for me. I am currently wearing around a size 38-40 inch waist, and I was wondering if getting a smaller waist kit would be okay considering it's supposed to stretch? I am looking on Aliexpress for the most part.

Hey /n/, got a really nice (imo) Avanti Super Sprint from a friend that I want to restore back to it's former glory. Would use as a spare bike for short trips and to let friends borrow so we could go for rides. One big problem though, when shifting gears one time the rear derailleur snapped and took some spokes with it. Not too fussed about those because I can replace them easily, but it also bent the rear hanger a bit. The LBS told me that bending it back would result in questionable integrity, but I've been reading online that bending a hanger back on a steel frame isn't a big issue. He also recommended converting it to single speed. opinions? ideally someone with more experience will be able to confirm if bending the hanger back is ok

How much would I be missing out if I went with a Sony Action Cam or some other Gopro thing instead of just getting a Gopro? Pic related it's the Sony HDR-AS100V which is supposed to have better IQ than the GoPro Hero3+ Black but since no one's buying them I could get one for $200

So I found this on my walk home tonight sitting in the creek along the bike path it had been there for 2 days I think it has potential obviously needs a lot of work. The emblem on the front says Centurion Bicycle Works so I looked up the serial number (nom6505 if anyone wants to check) but that only tells me what year, week, and what number the bike is nothing about which model. Is there any other way to find out?

Anyone rock fenders on their road bike? If so which ones? Looking to buy some myself but I want to get a consensus on fenders. Rain season's a comin'.
