alright /n/egroids, what are the most comfortable handlebars out there? My new bike has something akin to the soma major taylor, and I find it hard to get used to it. So what is it, moustache? butterfly? flat?

Los Angeles /n/igs, what are some good road bike trails in that area that are 30+ miles? I'll be heading down there in about a month. While we're at it, how do you anons pack your road bike for a flight - are cardboard boxes still the best method? Are carbon frames too much of a risk? Lastly, is it against the law in California to ride without a helmet? Yeah, I know - I'll be getting one as soon as I can afford that one I'm eyeing.

How much would I be missing out if I went with a Sony Action Cam or some other Gopro thing instead of just getting a Gopro? Pic related it's the Sony HDR-AS100V which is supposed to have better IQ than the GoPro Hero3+ Black but since no one's buying them I could get one for $200

Is 27 too old to be a professional (road) cyclist? Is there anyone on here who is pro or semi-pro that can talk about what the sport is like at that level?

Upon seeing the imprint of my Assos chamois which graces my exposed ballbag, I am pushed over the edge and the big semens fly out, coating all, dappled silver dewdrops 'pon my taut grimacing maw

But going back to Occupy, it's a tactic. Tactics have a kind of a half-life. You can't keep doing them, and certainly you can't keep occupying public places for very long. And was very successful, but it was not in itself a movement. The question is: what happens to the people who were involved in it? Do they go on and develop, do they move into communities, pick up community issues? Do they organize? Take, say, this business of, say, worker-owned industry. Right here in Massachusetts, not far from here, there was something similar. One of the multinationals decided to close down a fairly profitable small plant, which was producing aerospace equipment. High-skilled workers and so on, but it wasn't profitable enough, so they were going to close it down. The union wanted to buy it. Company refused -- usual class reasons, I think. If the Occupy efforts had been available at the time, they could have provided the public support for it. This happened when Obama virtually nationalized the auto industry. There were choices. One choice was what he took, of course, was to rescue it, return it to essentially the same owners -- different faces, but the same class basis -- and send them back to doing what they had been doing in the past -- producing automobiles. There were other choices, and if something like the Occupy movement had been around and sufficient, it could have driven the government into other choices, like, for example, turning the auto plants over to the working class and have them produce what the country needs.
