Thinking of using an electric scooter to commute to work/ Job is about 8 miles away, so I figure getting just the 10 mile models would be sufficient, and I'll just charge while working for the ride back home. Anyone know the real downsides of doing this before I make my investment? Of course I probably wouldn't be able to use it that well if it's raining, or the roads in general are too slippery, but I can still just use the bus in those situations. It should pay itself off within about 3 months with just the transportation costs I save from using it alone. Pic related, planning on getting the Lunar 300.

What are some good cities to live in where a car isn't required? Either good public transportation or bike accommodations. I know a rural area is out of the question but I'd definitely prefer places where I can still see nature aside from pigeons and rats. Things to consider: >How easy is it to get established >Job opportunities (Entry level type shit, but I don't mean McDonald's) >Cost of living >Cost of entry to area (IE: How much should I save up before I pack up and rent a home there.) >What types of public transportation are available? (24/7 bus services? Subway? Both?)

So a car has been parking in the motorcycle parking only spots, if I block him in and he knocks over my bike or causes damage, who's fault is it? Pic related, it's what I want to do

Does anyone else here have experience cycling in Australia? I've recently moved back from Japan where I cycled everywhere every day for over a year and only once did a motorcyclist call me a baka for being in bike lane. I've been in Australia for a little over three months now and I've been flipped off, honked at and aggressively cut off every time I try to ride my bike. Is this normal? I use the correct hand gestures. I stay out of the way of cars and only really use the lanes when there's a giant truck parked on the side of the road. Why are motorists here so callous?

Hey /n/, so recently I was wondering on starting a project for myself. I decided to build a BMX. Now I've never built one before or even ridden a bmx, but I am interested in learning maybe some basic tricks. But what I'm asking is how much have you guys spent on building your custom bmx and how efficient it is for travel. >Also sexy bmx pics please

How many of you guys actually shave your legs? I started shaving this year and I can't stand the stub after one day of not shaving. Even during off season when I'm only lifting and spinning at the gym, I feel like I absolutely have to shave. I think it ruined my life. I can't go a day without shaving.

here we perpetuate bullshit folk knowledge

Alright /n/ I have a problem. My qt gf wants to get into riding with me, she bought one of those hipster fixies, which is fine. Now here is the problem, her right arm is approximately 6-10 inches shorter then what it should be. Imagine you had 4 inches of forearm and then you have your wrist. Along with that she is missing a thumb / shorter fingers on her right hand. All of this has made it very hard for her to ride a bike, I had to swap the breaks on the bike so she could pull the back break with her left hand which is fully developed. She is able to ride but not very well, and since she has to put 90% of her weight on her left arm to support herself which ends up hurting her wrist, or she ends up holding the bars with her undeveloped arm and leaning super far forward. I went and got her the shortest stem I possibly could, which are attached to bullhorn bars, which are actually risers. What else could I do do the bike so she can ride it better?

A cyclist crashed into my motorcycle this morning after he ran a red light, I was doing a steady 30mph and the guy claims I should have stopped for him. I saw him emerging but thought he was going to swerve behind me. Am I liable? I'm not much of an expert on bicycles but it looked like a pretty expensive road bike, the front wheel hit my exhaust guard, got ripped to shreds and the forks broke clean off where they join the frame (it looked like carbon fiber). Luckily, he just hit the road and bloodied his nose (no helmet). I have his name address and he has mine. He seemed pretty certain I was in the wrong, I didn't make the mistake of apologising or admitting liability. He also declined an ambulance, the police or a taxi (he had no phone).
