I thought this was kind of interesting with the announcement of Shimano 11 speed 5800 next year, and the concept of "trickle down" technology You can see in 2000 and 2001, the first generation of Tiagra, all tiers of Shimano parts shared the same technology, just in varying quality. This was when Campy had just released 10 speed. A year later in 2002, Shimano released the first downgraded group with the introduction of Sora thumb shifters, obviously a jab at Campy, but also the first year of increased product differentiation. These shifters were not like previous 8 speed shifters, but a new cheaper and less functional design. 10 speed trickled down to 105 in 2007, and 105 shared the same level of technology as Dura Ace for just one year. Shimano made it clear that 10 speed was not going to trickle down to Tiagra for some time and released 4600 with visual indicators. This was to separate Tiagra from the "real" groups with the tacky and heavy indicators, and in order to keep Tiagra a generation behind. Now there is no overlap. Tiagra is a complete generation behind, and for a year will be two complete generations behind. Sora is yet another complete generation behind and a year where it will be more than a generation behind Tiagra. So is 105 next and never going to share technology with DA again, or will Shimano keep their product cycle so you can buy top level technology at different prices through the generation? Shimano certainly worked hard to make sure there were full generational gaps at the Tiagra level.

I really think about this every day. Every time I see a large male, every time I think about a plane, every time somebody mentions the CIA, every time somebody asks about a mask, every time I weigh on the scale, every time somebody mentions the want to be a Dr. , every time somebody says they're not their friends, every time somebody mentions loyalty, every time somebody mentions Batman. Holy shit. It's a part of me now. This scene is a big guy for me, and taking over my brain must have been a part of it's plan. Of course, Bravo Nolan you're a real human being and a true detective. I don't know what to do anymore. I wake up in the middle of the night and immediately yell FOR YOU! I just can't help it. Every dream I can remember for the past 6 months has had to do with this fucking scene. Even if it's just the faintest sound of the plane. Oh my God. Please save me. Somebody. I can't take it. My life is crashing with no survivors. ________ NOTE: For maximum effect, post with "please help.png"

So I was at work today and I'm pretty sure I saw an APC-3 Orion, a P-8 Poseidon and maybe a C-17. Can someone suggest a good website that could tell me if I'm right. I have tried google but all I get are commercial flight trackers. To make it fun see if you can guess where I am.

How can you tell if a road bike/frame has toe overlap? I'm interested in a steel bike for touring, but I don't want to worry about my toe hitting the front wheel. I currently use a race bike for my mini tours and I feel like I might get myself killed when I forget about the overlap while making wide turns.

Just quickly need an answer, how fucked am I if my tyre fails? It's an old bike with cracked sidewalls (not a picture of my wheel, but similar)

Whats the deal with public transportation in America? Why does discussing it send so many people insane? Why do people act like it is a violation of the laws of the universe to build a new railway, it must only be on an existing freight line apparently anything else and a blackholoe will be created it seems Why cant people into finances with public transit and expect it to be instantly repaying its costs? Do people really believe that if public transit operates in their area, a reincarnated Genghis Khan will lead a horde of demons in an orgy of theft and rape? Whats the deal with trying to do everything with lightrail?

Why should you have to pay full-price for a train ticket where you have to stand when there are others who paid the same price who are sitting? When I get on the train, all the seats are taken. There's not even enough space to stand and hold onto railings or anything to keep from falling, it's basically standing there with your arms at your side trying to balance and not fall over. Yet, I'm paying the same price as those who are lucky enough to have a seat. Why should I be expected to pay the same? > inb4 "Hurr, you're still making use of the train and in the end you're still getting where you want to" Would you pay the same price for a plane ticket if it meant you were standing up the entire flight? Didn't think so.

Military Helicopters without lights

Military Helicopters without... 11 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hello /n/ Maybe you can help me here. Last few days I've been seeing a lot of military helicopters flying overhead, or at least more than normal. Now I am seeing/hearing military helicopters going over at night without any lights on. In particular one that was low and circling, and then took off. Is it not an FAA rule to have safety lights? At least over civilian areas? Most have looked like this one. I don't live near a military base, but the nearest one to me is Fort Hunter Liggett (California) and for what it's worth there has been a huge amount of activity and a lot of equipment and aircraft actually leaving the base heading east. I lookup up answers elsewhere but most were generic answers or baseless conspiracy shit. Apologies for my ignorance on this subject.

Seoul, South Korea painted 100 of its city buses as characters on a Korean children's cartoon to celebrate the upcoming Children's Day (May 5th). Could a city in the U.S. do something like this without inviting lawsuits (my kid jumped in front of the bus because he thought he was going to meet the cartoon character, etc.).
