Sup, /n/. I recently ordered a Thorn Nomad Mk2 from sjscycles. It's a pretty simple and stout MTB steel frame, except with long chainstays, Rohloff dropouts, and an eccentric BB and I'm pretty excited. Anyways, threads made on /n/ stay alive for a long while, so I thought this was a good placeholder for an upcoming build thread. Pic related, just a Thorn Nomad all kitted out.

So as a substitute for running I wanted to get into biking again. Last time I went biking as a form of exercise or sport was at least 6 years ago. At that time I was living in a part of Florida that had smooth and wonderful roads. I got a Canondale Road Bike as a gift and just started riding. Now I am in a shitty urban environment with terrible roads that requires a hybrid bicycle. Unfortunately, I am on a budget and don't know what to get. I have some Requirements though. tl;dr What kind of low budget (150-300$) hybrid bike with front shocks and Flick Gear shift (not twist, Too harsh on my hands for long distances) would someone recommend?

They really aren't that hard to master. Why the fuck do people skill bike to work when they could use up half the space in their garage and save money for Christmas?

So in the last two days Ive had two different people run into my car whilst parked in the same spot. But what I realised is that every single time I've had someone damage my car. It's been in Box Hill, Melbourne Australia. This place is known for Asians. Everyone calls it Bok Hirr because of how many Asians there are. I've had 6 accidents now, all from Box Hill, none of which were my fault. All of which were foreign drivers (4 Asians, 2 Indians, 1 Middle Easterner). Whatever WORLD. You fucking suck at driving.

My car gets 11mpg and I WOT past cyclists with my 130db exhaust and 3ft flames. Ask me anything. Oh, I also speed (up to 140km/h) on twisty roads with little visibility.

Hey /n/, I'm looking for a road bike. Just went to my local store and they only stock KHS. I think they had the flite 223, 150, 300. they were within 400-600. It was a preliminary look at bikes. Anything else I should look into? General recommendations

Looking for some encouragement. Not a regular on this board, but I am an avid cyclist. I was t-boned about a month ago. Road rash everywhere, broken knee. Can't walk for another few weeks. GF left me 5 days after the accident. Plz share feels and encouragement. I want to ride again, but am currently feeling extremely apprehensive and depressed (some of it is understandable, I know). Tips for getting back on the saddle. Pic related

Which of Amtrak's routes come the closest to breaking even? I'm guessing the NEC is probably the most successful.

Hey guys, I don't really post on /n/, but I was hoping I could get some advice. I picked up this Kona for 10 dollars, and I'm hoping to fix it up and give it to my Fiance as a gift. I'm not completely new to bikes, but there are some questions I had. -The paint is pretty good, but there are a couple of big scuff marks. I was thinking about trying to touch up the paint. What would be the best way to color match the paint? I'm thinking automotive paint is the way to go? -The bike needs a new rear tire. Is there an online shop you guys prefer for affordable bike parts(other than Amazon)? -The bike is pretty gunked up. Am I safe using simple green on the gears and sprockets? -One of the cables that goes to the gears is toast. You can see it hanging in the picture. I was going to take it to a shop to have it fixed, but is this something I might be able to do on my own? I have access to a pretty big bike tool box. Thanks in advance.

So I'm pretty sure this is /n/ not /out/ but whatever. I'm going off to college this coming fall and I'm wanting to convert my dad's old full-rigid Diamondback into an ultimate commuter/light (like able to camp for like 1 day & night, nothing like bear grillz shit) camping bike. What are some things I would need besides the obvious tent, sleeping bag, etc etc. If you can you suggest some specific items that'd be awesome.
