Hey /o/, My girlfriends brother is selling his '93 BMW 325i for 2k, 302,000km. I realize this is a lot of kilometres, but him and his father look after it and have preformed routine maintenance since he gained ownership. My question to you is, is this a terrible idea, should I look elsewhere?

Okay /o/manites I need some information, some out side thoughts other then my gf;s and my own thoughts. This car has be given to me as a gift from my parents after my old car went up (civic 89' hatch back manny tranny lol) my dad told me it was going to need some work specifically speaking: Rotors, brakes, oil change and transmission fluid. The bullshit with that was I took it to a shop that I used last summer for my civic and the mechanic at the time charged me 1100 bucks to drop a new engine a price i was willing to pay seeing as i got it for 800. Now the new mechanic there wants to charge me 1600 for rotors brake and tranny fluid, i did my research and found out that i can get a set of rotor/brakes (ALL FOUR WHEELS) for around 200 dollars and i've seen/saved a bunch of brake changing videos from youtube and i feel like i can do this all by myself in about an hour or 2. my question is how badly can i fuck this up? i mean it all seems so easy and i really need my truck up and running before the middle of july as i have a baby on the way, this is just part one of a 3 part process to get my car road worthy. pls respond /o/ i need you. posting pictures of the truck. also what are some cool things/mods i can do it once its all fixed?

>parents buy abused car from dealership >dealer says they'll fix a problem with the car >they "fix" it and parents buy the car >breaks a week later, parents take he car back >dealer fixes it again >a month later it breaks again >parents want to take it back to dealer >can't convince them the dealer is useless and a waste of time

Would it be possible do mod the AZ1 into a 2+2 seater? I realize you would have also have to raise the hood substantially to move the whole engine there; I'm working on that in the pic.

Transmission Question! Looking at a used car >2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo >125,000 mi >$4900 >Got a pre-purchase inspection >They say over $1700 of work >Some minor problems that are just normal costs to a car >Not sure whether to trust this shop or not >Anyways >Transmission cooler line needs to be replaced >Transmission fluid reported brown and burnt If I bought the car, would I need to rebuild/replace the transmission, or would a new filter and fluid change be ok? I've read quite a few conflicting web pages that say replacing fluid and filter would be worse and some say that it would be a good idea Help me PLEASE.

Just wondering /o/ does this count as stanced. Also what did you do with your car today?

Well /o/, it's finished. A few of you might remember how I bought a gold AW11 around nine months ago for a thousand dollars. The hood, bumper, and other parts were completely crushed, but after nine laborious months and around $1500 later, this is probably the cleanest AW11 I've ever seen. For only $2500 I think I did damn good. I want to put some silver Enkei92's down the line, and upgrade suspensions components as well. Dump will commence shortly.

Hey /o/ What's your opinion of Fuegos? I love the old school look of these coupes and have an opportunity to get one cheap. It has a busted engine mount and 300 on the clock. Would I be throwing money away? I thought it'd be a investment as it has a body and interior in near mint condition and is about to become a 30 y.o. classic.

What does /o/ think about mid 80's camaro's with the 2.8 V6? I found one that I'm tempted to buy but I don't know if they are worth a damn. http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/4527505103.html

Anyone here familiar with B5 Passats? I have a 2001 VW Passat with a 2.8L V6 and I was wondering what's the best way to remove the engine. Would it be easier to drop the engine from the bottom and then hoist the whole car up instead?
