i have a few questions about harleys how do people learn the code? example this is a FXRP why do so many of the harleys have parts that look cheap or just ugly (swimgarms come to mind) and rear shocks, i see so so many riders get a nasty jolt over bumps that my bike doesn't give me. do many riders have the shocks setup wrong or are they just low quality? this is very very common, and i would expect them to ride smoother.

If you had to choose between these two bikes: http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/mcy/4600060967.html http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/mcy/4593568156.html Which would you go with? I like the look of the SV650 more, but I'm wary of how many miles are on it. This'll be my first bike and I'm using it for commuting to work and class on the freeway mostly.

Syngas

Hey /o/, it's /k/ here. As you probably know, we're a bunch of paranoid daydreamers who believe the apocalypse (be it in the form of nukes, zombies, nuclear zombies, or ebola) is coming. Sooner rather than later, in a hopeful mindset. While /k/ is a great resource for all things firearms, survival, and fearmongering, we severely lack automotive knowledge. Back in the World Wars, people improvised ways of getting around the problem of fuel rationing - wood gas, town gas, producer gas, different names for the same concept of turning biomatter into combustible hydrogen. In a future where fuel could be a rarity (SHTF or no, what with peak oil and such stuff), being able to run a car or generator on fuel that literally grows on trees would be extremely helpful. tl;dr - Is a syngas/wood gas powered vehicle a viable method of transport in the event of global or local catastrophe?

How does a movie that's twice as dumb as FATF is still somehow more enjoyable to watch? Also, car movie general.

So I recently moved into a new house and in the basement were a set of used-once tires in size 235/55/R17. I'm currently using some in a size 215/55/R18. One set will be used for when I'm autocrossing, I just don't know which at this point - to me it would make sense to use the wider tires, but would it make that much more of a difference? Would the diameter make a difference either?

What car to get for race?

So I want to enter the LeMons race. Its a race that has a few rules. 1) the car can NOT be worth more than $500 2) have fun What car should I get? I need to modify it for safety regulations (roll cage, removable gas tank, battery relocation, etc.) Something easy to work on would be nice in case of a break down.

So /o/ why aren't you driving a Renault Megane convertible?

Hey /o/, if you're like... 47 posts and 1 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hey /o/, if you're like me, then you hate the 25 year rule for importing cars into America. If you want to see this changed, sign this White House petition. This petition isn't fighting to remove it, but rather lower it to 15 years, which I think might be possible if the petition makes it through. So please, get on board and sign.
