Surviving in the middle of the ocean is not as easy as Pi makes it look. For 38 days a family survived by undergoing makeshift enemas and eating turtles. Man vs Wild - Bear's Enema https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtIG4TuVnvg This never gets old.

Help me learn the basics of growing fruits and vegetables (please) Can you grow food in just potting soil without adding dirt? Can you grow food in just fertilizer without adding dirt? Some crops don't need fertilizer, right? Like potatoes. Would using fertilizer increase yields? I live in Miami, it never snows here, I could grow things year round can't I? If I grew them in containers and transported them indoors before night time when it gets colder, would that be better?

What camp fuel do you prefer for hiking? A buddy of mine swears by Heet, which makes sense since it's methanol, cheap, and everywhere, but is there something better most people don't think about to use?

Sup /out/ I'm going on a camping trip to Colorado over spring break with two friends. I'm a fairly experienced camper, but one of my other companions isn't. Because of this, we aren't going to go backpacking as originally planned. Can someone from /out/ recommend a good camping location in Colorado that's got hike in spots or open camping? I've done some research myself but I was hoping someone on here who's camped in Colorado before can point me towards a good location. I'll delete this thread once I decide where to go. Thanks in advance

Tips for building a fishing... 18 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Tips for building a fishing boat from home depot? I drew out this design ive been day dreaming about at work. Ive checked out youtube videos, using their ideas and basing mine off them. You tube "homemade fishing boats" ive watched almost all of them, if you wanna know my inspiration. My goal is to build a boat under 100$ initial investment, with addons later (pvc bumpers, motors, etc) Materials: - x2 4x8 sheets of 3/8 inch thick smooth plywood (recommendations on wood?) - silicon caulk to seal up joints, 2 or 3 coats -various sized pvc tubes for fishing rod holders, -bolted down milk crate for gear behind chair -room for ice chest also, bucket tied up by the front of something. -big aluminum canoe ore I have the money to go buy the stuff asap. i have all the equipment to do it, and i have handyman skills. its just whether or not my design is sea worthy, of calm reservoirs in central texas. maybe even a river or two? Ill always have a PFD handy. try my hardest to keep it in calm waters. Will start building soon if i get feedback and help. Will keep pictures updated from the moment i cut the wood and start putting it together. Will go to home depot tomorrow if idea is finalized somehow. id just like someone to tell me if my design seems alright or if i should start over. i would like to keep it simple, and be done in 2 weeks. get some bass fishing in , i hope my picture explains enough. I want pvc because i feel a sealed up tube would help keep buoyant, and stable at that. also keep the wood corners from being damaged. The whole goal of the project is to fit in the back of the truck, be cheap, have room for addons. one man fishing dingy, ms paint your own boat designs, whatever. itt: boat building

moot hates blogging sites so I can't give a direct link, but google "telfer1972" and follow the "Six Months In the Great Sandy Desert" link. It's got the story of a guy who did 6 months far-outtaback while the initial setup was done for the Telfer/Fanny Hill Gold claim. Well-worth a read, I reckon m8ies.

this may be a little too specific of a question for this board but ill try it out i live around london (ontario) and me and my 2 best buds really got into kayak fishing at the end of the season last year which was great but shitty that we got into it at the end of he season because we only got out 3 or 4 times before it started getting too cold for it. we went on the grand river twice around paris and on the thames in london starting at springbank park. landed some alright bass but what i really want this year is to get some trout walleye or maybe a pike out of a kayak. does anyone know some good rivers or small lakes for catching trout walleye or pike in the london area (within a couple hours or so drive)? >tldr: where are some good rivers or small lakes for catching trout/walleye/pike? pic related kayak im leaning heavily towards buying

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a tent that could house me and my partner for under $100 with backpacks inside the tent as well. I am assuming a 3 person tent would do the trick for this. We would not be camping in snow. Temos may tend to hit 30*F Suggestions???? Someone recommended Ozark from Wal-Mart as the most ideal and best for this?

I spent most of last summer traveling and camping the west coast and Colorado in a westfalia van much like this one. I can't tell you how much fun I had. These things are a blast. Sink. Stove. Fridge. And will get you way out in the woods. Fun as a daily driver also. It has all my fishing and camping gear ready to go at a moments notice. Kayak stays on the roof most of the summer. Always a cold beer in the fridge.
