So I'm heading camping this weekend with my partner, I haven't been since I was younger. What are the best clothing items to take?

I'm not sure if any of the other urban exploration threads are still alive, so I'll just make a new one. ITT: Post experiences, photos, general discussion about this hobby.

What's your opinion on the show Naked and Afraid? Another "real" survivor show? Something you would like to do?

My job is slowly killing me. My life is slipping by. I need something different. I'm in SoCal - help me plan my weekend escape? Wooded, not shitty deserts, preferably.

Jackrabbit help

Home for the summer helping family farm and ranch. Barely had time to stop the tractor and plow before sendng this little guy to an early grave. Anybody know how old jacks are before being completely independent? From milk specifically. He seemed dehydrated anyway. Think I might've plowed up the nest yesterday and he was just hanging around it. I got some water into him and he seems a little more lively. What do?

Tent Prices

Hey /out/ I'm looking at an MSR Hubba Hubba NX (http://www.mec.ca/product/5035-570/msr-hubba-hubba-nx-tent/) and I need your advice. It's only going to be the wife and I, and not doing anything too crazy. Our plan is to be able to hike for 3-5 hours and setup camp on a whim. Looking for something to run from mid spring to late fall. Basically when there's no snow here in Canada. So a low temp of 5C would be the lowest. If we spend $350 on this tent, are we getting overkill? Is this the kind of tent you go if you're gone for a month instead of just every other weekend? Is this a good buy?

lyme

Anyone here ever get lyme disease? This shit fucking sucks mane. I've had it in the past once when I was a kid but I caught it right away, this new case I honestly dont know how long I let it fester before going to doctor, maybe 3 months? I was stupid and didn't go to doctor soon enough. My doctor told me 30 days antibiotics is always enough though I just ended my 30 days antibiotics course 5 days ago The ringing in my ears is coming back, my joints are hurting again, it hurts to look at the sun and now my fatigue is coming back... fuck but how?? I'm reading on the internet that the CDC is wrong about treatment and I should take antibiotics for longer? that it's some big medical controversy? I don't want this shit forever man...

I'm going to a music festival where I'll be camping. I already own a couple of decent tents, but I'm worried about taking them in case they get ruined by filthy drugged up hippies. I was considering taking something like pic related, but I'm concerned that it will be of such shit quality it will break or leak of fly away in the wind or something. TL:DR what sort of tent take to music festival?

I was planning on south... 8 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
I was planning on south bounding the Pacific Crest Trail top to bottom, I was going to try to hit the trail mid june, but it snowed it's ass off and made a through hike damn near impossible (I've had surgery on one knee and the other is shit too, wear braces on both). I've followed some other people online who are attempting what I was and they are having a tough time, one guy fell off a "cliff" and broke his leg. Anyway I'm not going on a fucking suicide mission through deep snow… I have my lightweight gear, 3 pairs of shoes, my ass in shape, and money saved up for a multi month trip. But what the fuck good is all this doing me now? I can't wait till next later next year to do the PCT, because well I need to work. I can; however, go on a shorter trip later this year that may bleed a month or two into next year. I'm planning on starting in October and trying to wrap it up by January or at the latest February 2015. What trail could I possibly do in the middle of winter if I am concerned with deep snow and maximum suffering? Why the Te Araroa of course. It will be summer in NZ around October, less chance of snow problems, significantly shorter trail, more towns nearby for resupply and help with injuries. But I don't know shit about NZ or the Te Araroa in general… I know I will need a plane ticket that won't be cheap and a visa, but that's about it so far. I need some advice/information about traveling to and hiking in NZ. I understand it can rain it's ass of there time to time… Please share all you know. TL;DR Need advice on through hiking the Te Araroa in New Zealand.

Alpine hiking/scrambling/snowplay in Rocky Mountain National Park? Just pulled in from the east coast and I don't know what to expect in terms of conditions and severity, but I'm reading everything possible. We've been camping up at 8000 feet in the hills past Boulder, CO, but Rocky is where I want to be. Anyways, If you guys know specifics that would be awesome. Pic Related, Mt. Ida. Our planned project, just unsure about trail conditions.
