https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wtf-earthships-in-the-united-states/x/8147701#gallery No one is obligated to make donations, sharing or even just watching the video is enough for me. I figured 4chan would be a good place for people to check out our campaign. Also general Earthship, outdoors, off the grid, etc etc.

I coudlnt get a decisive anwser on google so I came here to get some input.... Is it okay to use dish soap to wash leather boots and use olive oil to condition them because they are dry? I know people will say to buy specicility products but this is what I have.

I am looking for a reusable water bottle that is light weight and free of any gimmicky designs. For some odd reason most manufacturers decide to put at least one futuristic feature on their bottle. You know any brand that carries minimalistic ones? Pic related is a close to perfect but that big ass cap is unnecessary.

Are boongs and other natives natural outdoorsmen or has modern civilization eroded that?

Ozark Trail Men's Hikers boots

Alright guys, before you go insane: yes, I know I made a mistake buying some specialty shoes/boots without research. But I got these at walmart (inb4 hue), and they felt comfy, so I got them. I'm going on a trip to california for a week and I'm wondering if they'll be suitable for doing outdoorsy work. I've read a few reviews and apparently they fall apart easily, but I'm wondering if that's just because of heavy use... I don't think I'll be walking on knives or anything crazy. If they are shit based on your experience, I'll return them. But what would be a good, cheap alternative? Preferably something I can buy at bass pro shop or kohl's.

Going to New Zealand for the first time for a week in September. Renting a camper van but I'll be in Auckland for 2 days. Only plan so far is to find some glow worms. Probably won't hit the south island but does anyone know of some cool non-touristy places to hit up? Tails, restaurants, etc?

What would be the best state to move to for /out/ activities if you take the following into consideration: 1. Has to be near a big city, but plenty of /out/ing stuff to do within 2-3 hours 2. Has to be in or very near the rockies/appalachians 3. Has great bass, catfish, and trout fishing 4. Isn't too cold - has to have at least 3 months of summer and a winter that lasts no more than 4 months 5. Has good gun laws 6. Isn't anywhere near the coasts 7. Has plenty of rainfall ( I will have a garden) 8. Good cost of living Thanks for any help.

How to Motocamp: Northeast Edition

4 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hey all. Can you guys recommend some places to go /out around southwestern Connecticut? There's just not much of interest around here, and not too many places to camp away from people (or above board). A little background-- I want to give moto-camping a go once I get my motorbike fixed up. Since I'm a new rider, I'd prefer to take some short trips that still offer plenty of adventure close to home. I've been thinking of going up NY-22 to Canada or VT (have family along the way). Could also head west to Bear Mountain State park. Basically, any awesome stuff that's not too far away in any direction-- mountains, canyons, falls, swimming holes, plateaus, oddball history-- I dig it all. Always wanted to visit West Virginia's coal-mine ghost towns, FWIW. Current gear-- 1 MSS sleep system, Butane stove, some knives, canteens, and both an ALICE Ruck and Frost River bushcraft pack. Gonna try to get a small tent and sleeping pad after the bike is fixed. TLDR: Stuck in CT hell, help me plan moto-camping trips that are doable and adventurous. Don't care what direction. Also general moto-camping advice and discussion.

How dangerous is walking cross country? For a few years now, I have wanted to take a few weeks off of work, and walk to long beach CA, from SLC UT. most of the distance between is a barren desert with occasional truck stops every ~40 miles. Is this a plausible idea? I am in pretty good shape, but I feel like I am going to have to strategize this well if I am going to be able to survive the whole walk (about 700 miles). Also I am pretty sure it is illegal to walk down I-15 so I might have to find an alternative route. Any cross country walkers with experience?

Hey /out/ figured this would be the best place to ask. I'm looking for some rain gear, preferably (much prefer) a one piece suit - great quality, price doesn't really matter but nothing super expensive. thanks

Raising Money for Mozambique!

Hey everyone, Fighting Shoulder to Shoulder with The Poor. This program is an 18 months program and students earn an A-certificate with One World University. The first six months you study about the situation in the world, the situation of the poor and about creating a sustainable future. Then you will take action with The Poor in Belize or Ecuador together with the NGO Humana People to People for six months. The last six months of the program is called "The Journal Period" where you act as the voice of the Poor, and share your experiences to mobilize people to take action – through radio, TV, internet, lectures in schools or on the streets. I need to raise $3000 for this in a month. Even pennies will get me toward my goal! Any help would be much appreciated! Here's the link to my fundme page! http://www.gofundme.com/bvrnfw Heres a link to the program im doing! http://www.richmondvale.org/about-rva/about

Hi /out/ Brit friend here, me and a couple of friends are planning a hike somewhere close to south yorkshire. We've already been on hikes near hope and edale and i was wondering if anyone knows any good walks around this area. On a side note, If anyone knows of any medieval ruins such as forts or castles in south yorkshire, I've found myself liking history a lot more than i have done and I want to go find some for myself, possibly Open access without having to pay to get in or dealing with some tour guide dude. Much thanks and happy walking!
