https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wtf-earthships-in-the-united-states/x/8147701#gallery No one is obligated to make donations, sharing or even just watching the video is enough for me. I figured 4chan would be a good place for people to check out our campaign. Also general Earthship, outdoors, off the grid, etc etc.

safety reminder to assume the safety position when a storm is over head >July 12 (Reuters) - A lightning strike on Saturday killed a man in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, a day after another strike killed a woman who had been out on a hike. >Four people were injured in Saturday's strike, and eight were hurt on Friday, officials said in a news release. Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson identified the woman killed on Friday as Rebecca R. Teilhet, 42, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, who had been hiking with her husband and a friend. >The victim in Saturday's incident was not identified. The people were struck by lightening at Rainbow Curve, where visitors often gather to watch for rainbows after rainstorms. Hey /out/, tell me what are some good books about (preferably written by) XIX-early XX century explorers/geographers/hunters! Livingstone, Stanley, Strzelecki, Patterson, the lot. I would really love to read about their adventures, discoveries, and how they coped with problems they encountered.

How to Motocamp: Northeast Edition

Hey all. Can you guys recommend some places to go /out around southwestern Connecticut? There's just not much of interest around here, and not too many places to camp away from people (or above board). A little background-- I want to give moto-camping a go once I get my motorbike fixed up. Since I'm a new rider, I'd prefer to take some short trips that still offer plenty of adventure close to home. I've been thinking of going up NY-22 to Canada or VT (have family along the way). Could also head west to Bear Mountain State park. Basically, any awesome stuff that's not too far away in any direction-- mountains, canyons, falls, swimming holes, plateaus, oddball history-- I dig it all. Always wanted to visit West Virginia's coal-mine ghost towns, FWIW. Current gear-- 1 MSS sleep system, Butane stove, some knives, canteens, and both an ALICE Ruck and Frost River bushcraft pack. Gonna try to get a small tent and sleeping pad after the bike is fixed. TLDR: Stuck in CT hell, help me plan moto-camping trips that are doable and adventurous. Don't care what direction. Also general moto-camping advice and discussion.

Hi /out/, my father is hiking the applachian trail and isn't sure what food would be best to bring, he has been using mountain house but it's expensive. Any suggestions for food and energy snacks for very long distance hiking ?

Is it possible to use wood to make arrows, spears or knives to hunt bigger animals? I imagine that it would be really easy to make sharp wooden things to pierce flesh but all primitive societies use only stone-tipped weapons. Are wooden-only weapons completely useless?

Ok I'm currently really thinking about selling most of what I own and going for a year /out/. Where should I go? I plan on trying to find a bus, then taking it apart once I get there and turning it into a home. Then I was planning on digging under it so I have cold storage area, plus I really just wanna try digging some tunnels. I know this all may sound stupid, but I really just wanna spend some time decided where I want to be in the world. And being alone someplace beautiful would be nice. Is coyote edible? Advice would be great. Current guns (which I would assume would affect location) Model 60 XT-22 Enfield with a 4x scope and a polymer(came this way) M91/30(20 rounds) Saiga .223 SKS Mossberg 500 with 2 barrels(hunting/skeet, home defense) inb4 this is retarded, yeah I get that.

Buying a used Peugeot from a LBS. The owner is pricing it at $225. I have no experience in buying a bike, so beyond what various online websites have told me to look for, I am totally relying on the honesty of the LBS owner. It was a very nice ride, but there is a little rust on the piece attached to the back wheel sprockets. Does the picture indicate anything to you that makes that price worth it or not?

Hello there /out/ I don't post here a lot but I lurk from time to time for fun. I have a question regarding what to wear in the tropics after seeing the movie in pic related. lets say you head into the tropics; hot, humid, full of mosquitoes and rain. How do you dress ( i.e. shorts or full length trousers), how do you avoid your feet shriveling away after being soaked for so long, how do you avoid mosquitoes and the 1001 infections they carry and how do you stop the clothes from literally rotting off your body? Something of a hardmode; How would ye olde 15th century conquistador do this?
