Can somebody give some alpha advice for a mexican who is trying to make a outdoors trip, as you may know, a lot of people in Mexico live in rural places, well, I will visit my grandmother, she lives there with her family, some cousins and uncles of mine have experience making home-made fishing rods with bottles and they always have some machetes handy, can you guys give me some tips to start going on little adventures?

Howdy, /out/! I'm here to ask advice on a subject that you guys should be helpful with. I'm currently in the military and my contract is ending in the foreseeable future. Before I joined I was homeless at various points in my life but I've decided that when I get out I'm going to take a year or so off and explore the States in a better way. When I was homeless before I did not travel much, and it was never for a period of greater than 3 months. What I'm trying to ask is aside from the obvious (shelter, clothes, etc.) what are things that one should bring for such an extended period of time? And a second question is basically this: how does one ride track and what is it like?

Sleep System Thread, Make-A-Guide Edition

I've seen guides on knives and multitools, but not any other innawoods gear. To fix that, I'll be starting a series of threads geared towards helping me create these guides. Post your recommendations for sleep systems (bags, bivy sacks, whatever). Be sure to note the price point, weight, compacted size, climate, whether or not you'd use it without a tent, whether it fits one or two /out/ists (I'd like to have a guide for couples' sleeping bags, too), and whatever else seems worth mentioning. I don't really know much about sleeping bags and shit, I usually just dress in warm enough layers and curl up in the snow, but someone should make a guide, so I might as well be the one to do it.

I found this knife in my dad's storage shit awhile ago. It's a Lile, I called up the lile dude and he said it's an original from jimmy lile himself, before he died and were bought an moved to china. The sheath says it was from when he made them in Arkansas. He didn't give me a value besides like 600$ but I've heard his originals before the Rambo shit is worth allot more then that. Any knife experts have an opinion?

Hello /out/ I referee soccer and need a pair of running shoes to get, because cleat-type shoes kill my feet by the end of the day. We are required to wear either full black or only black and white shoes with our uniform I was doing some research and Nike's Free Runs seem to be very good but I am confused with all the different models. 2.0-5.0, lunarknit, flyknit, flyknit+, etc. All these different models for a fucking shoe Can anyone explain the differences between these?

BIG Northern Pike

Guys, how do I catch big Pike? I have caught many in the 18-24" range, but no true "axe handles." I usually use big #5 Mepps bucktail spinners, or live minnows. I have never had luck with big spoons. I live near a few lakes where there are monsters reportedly lurking and I want to catch one.

Trout Fishing

Going up north for the weekend in September and will be staying on a lake that is mainly full of trout. I'm normally a bass fisherman but would like to try for some trout. Any special tackle that you could recommend and/or tips and tricks? I will be fishing from both shore and das boat. I normally fish a bait caster but I've heard spinner reels are better? I plan on bringing both types with me.

What they don't do is obvious, but there doesn't seem to be anything they do despite their righteous stance. As a hunter here in the Rockies of Colorado, I find it a bit ridiculous that they think I'm the one harming the Earth.

Snipe Hunting

Alright, so I work at a summer camp and am currently counseling a group of seven year olds. On thursday I will be leading them out into the wooded area of the campgrounds to go "Snipe Hunting". I only have vague memories of doing this sort of thing as a kid and would like some extra ideas for this expedition: ie things to say, things to look for, anything to make it more believable and make the kids have more fun. Also if l can lm going to have another staff member dress up and pretend to be said Snipe.

Anyone live in Candian/USA wilderness permanently? Land in Canada is pretty cheap and I was toying with the idea of buying some. For those who do, what's it like? Do you have any pictures?
