Last night i was reading a magnum photobook and boy /p/ does fucking suck how come the photos posted here are so bad, bland and uninspiring? no stories, no context, no nothing. just weak and sad attempts of abstract architecture, awful baiting threads, mediocre portraits and awful landscapes (excepting burke guy). look at that horrid mess that are recent bread whatever threads, 100% nothing inside, well cheers guys, at least youre not /tv/ or /pol/

So I've been really uncareful and stupid and I lost the thing that connects my camera with the tripod. I don't know what it's called, so can anyone here tell me? And how can I order one without having to buy a whole new tripod? Photo related I guess. I'm not sure if it's the same, and to those who wonder how I found it if I don't know the name, in Dutch it's called a "snelkoppeling", but that translates to "quick connector". I don't think people buy these to use it like that.

So i know shutter speed affects saturation and aperture affects DoF and i think contrast, but what are some more of the more "advanced" relationships of caps camera settings that don't often get talked about?

I had a friend recommend the Canon AE-1. I have looked at some some reviews people say it's good and some say its bad. Was just wanting to see what /P/ opinion of it is.

Sup /p/ Any drone owners here? I am looking into this one because of price and lack of knowledge. I will mostly be using it for pictures while camping and just all around fun. Thoughts? How is the picture quality on these?

Red–green color blindness

Okay so i got a problem. I love video production and wanna do it as a day job. The problem is, i got a little Red-green color blindness. I always fail in these Ishihara color tests but without them i wouldnt even recognize that i have this problem. I had one job interview and they gave me some of these pictures and ofc i failed miserably. Is there any chance for me? Anyone with the same problem?

Nikon L830 Purchase Consideration.

Settled on a Nikon L830 as an upgrade to my digital camera, It will cost me just under 200 all together (even with tax). Is there a better option? I accept that in general it is NOWHERE NEAR a pixel peepers DSLR wet dream but what I do see as most important for me in this camera is the 34X optical zoom, the 16 MP resolution and the FULLHD 1080 video. I would choose a different camera if it had AT LEAST those things, but I currently feel like I am making the best selection while sacrificing other things like the stuff I don't need, Wifi connectivity. Any advice greatly appreciated.

So, I'd like to buy a Polarod camera. Just for an art project I'd like to do and therefore requiring it. What model can you recommend? Nothing TOO fancy, but something with quality.

How do you keep your camera safe in unfavorable environments? I'm climbing a mountain with my brother next week, and I want to use my DSLR rather then my 'freeze proof' point and shoot. How can you use a camera when it's 4 Degrees F. out? [EXIF data available. Getting married /p/. How much should I look to spend on a photographer? It's a 5 hour event, looking for a couple prints and a small album (~20 photos). I live in New York if that matters. And on a tight budget.

American Lighting vs German Lighting

11 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hey guys. I didn't know where else to ask this rather bizarr question but why is it that as a guy currently living in Germany I can always tell if pictures were shot in Germany or if they were shot in america? This hasn't got to do with architecture or landscape but merely with the light. My point being that German light in particular is always incredibly depressing while american light looks very flattering in a way. You can see for yourselves if you watch american TV and German. There's just something about american tv which makes it instantly recognizable. Has anyone else noticed? What is this phenomenon called? Pic unrelated
