So I've been really uncareful and stupid and I lost the thing that connects my camera with the tripod. I don't know what it's called, so can anyone here tell me? And how can I order one without having to buy a whole new tripod? Photo related I guess. I'm not sure if it's the same, and to those who wonder how I found it if I don't know the name, in Dutch it's called a "snelkoppeling", but that translates to "quick connector". I don't think people buy these to use it like that.

Red–green color blindness

Okay so i got a problem. I love video production and wanna do it as a day job. The problem is, i got a little Red-green color blindness. I always fail in these Ishihara color tests but without them i wouldnt even recognize that i have this problem. I had one job interview and they gave me some of these pictures and ofc i failed miserably. Is there any chance for me? Anyone with the same problem?

So, I'd like to buy a Polarod camera. Just for an art project I'd like to do and therefore requiring it. What model can you recommend? Nothing TOO fancy, but something with quality.

Hey /p/, I have looked around on the net, and can never really find the answer that I am really looking for, so I hope that one of you might have that for me. Back in film school, students (like me) were supplied with a Canon Scoopic (pic related) for when we made our feature semester projects. Sound synching was not a problem if I recall correctly, we just had to line up the marker sound with the marker in the video and for the most part it was in synch. I am thinking of making a movie on my own now, and I am going to do some shopping around for how I want to record my movie. Expense is no issue as long as it's very reasonable to me. What I just said about expense actually pertains more to acquiring, telecine, and possible sound synching of film itself, I already have an idea of how much that will cost. The part I am having trouble with are cameras. What is a good 16mm film camera in your opinion in terms of ease, durability, and price? From my research I could either get this K3 or Bolex-H16; have any of you had experience with these cameras? One thing I am truly curious about, and how I have been unable to find the answer to my exact question, how does a windup camera operate instead of a battery operated camera? Obviously one is manpowered while the other is electrical, but do they record at the same speed and how long would a windup last for one long shot, or is it that a windup camera will only record as fast as you are winding? Would it be harder to synch sound to a movie recorded on a windup than it would a battery powered? Thanks

American Lighting vs German Lighting

Hey guys. I didn't know where else to ask this rather bizarr question but why is it that as a guy currently living in Germany I can always tell if pictures were shot in Germany or if they were shot in america? This hasn't got to do with architecture or landscape but merely with the light. My point being that German light in particular is always incredibly depressing while american light looks very flattering in a way. You can see for yourselves if you watch american TV and German. There's just something about american tv which makes it instantly recognizable. Has anyone else noticed? What is this phenomenon called? Pic unrelated

Out for for the night. Shot so many photos and this is the only one that was remotely passable. I guess going out without reading the manual on the Eos 1100D was stupid. Also how to get the pictures to the 1 mb rule and 1000 Pixel without utterly destroying it ? [EXIF data available. Hi /p/ about office space photography.. An interior design company wants me to photograph their furniture and styling made in office environments at two different companies. Im expected to spend a couple of hours at each of the companys office and take images of different rooms, both spacious working areas and the small conference type, showing their furniture, tables, mats etc. Images are expected to look clean, sharp and bright like the usual real estate photography being seen. This is my first real interior photography job and i really got the pressure on me that it turns out good looking so... Do you have any essential advice or some basic routines/tips before such a shoot? Im guessing its important to fill the rooms with lights and make it look big with a wide angle lens and have straight lines in the composition etc.. But how to really do that and make it look great? Im bringing ... And would you consider this as an ok setup? Canon 7D Wide Angle lens Canon 20mm 2.8 (renting this cuz have none myself but 24-105 and thats not going to cut it, but is 20mm the right choice for wide angle?) Manfrotto tripod, couple of memory cards and extra batteries And now.. 430 ex ii flash onto camera pointing up and/or if i bring my elinchrome flash as extra (1 or 2 units) pointing up.. Bouncing the light to make it look soft in the rooms What do you think of all this? Pic related: a quick snapshot, just for documentation purpose, when i visited a couple of days ago to get familiar with one of the offices surroundings for the upcoming shoot [EXIF data available.
