Sup /p/. I've recently updated my folio, which got me wondering who else has one. Would be cool to compare/get critiques. It's nice looking at people's work as a whole. Don't know of anyone remembers me but I posted a while back and actually got some decent advice haha. [EXIF data available. I'm here to tell you that the Sigma 18-35 1.8 on a Crop Sensor looks just as good as a Canon’s EF 24-70mm f2.8L on a Full Frame ! [EXIF data available. Los Angeles 1999 Redux

I've always loved the photo "Los Angeles" by Andreas Gursky, so this past Sunday I went to Griffith Observatory and reshot it so that I could have a full-res version of it (since the max quality I could ever find of his was 800px). I realized I'm the only other person who has even tried to remake the photo, and there's no other photos like mine (other than his obviously). So I am wondering if it is morally wrong to essentially reshoot his famous photograph. Thanks.

just stumbled upon trashhand http://blog.trashhand.com his pictures are so awfully good. Can somebody tell me how to achieve this quality in sharpness and colors? At first I thought he was just post processing them with VSCO but they are too good. Also his pictures with sunlight coming from the front look so good while mine look like trash pic related, the colors are awesome [EXIF data available. Does anyone have recommendations for cheap excellent quality lenses? Over spring break I went on a bit of a shopping spree on craigslist and through second hand camera stores. I got a FD Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm 3.5 (version 2) for $5. It is insanely sharp at all extremes especially for how little I paid. I also bought a Asahi Takumar 35mm 3.5 for $50 which is supposed to have extremely good overall performance. I'll find out when my adapter arrives.

Hey, can anyone recommend a good Gurskey book? There are a few available and I'd like one that's richly illustrated, I feel like that's the whole point of a photo book. I've seen a few pages from Bangkok, definitly seems interesting but I do like his more colorful work, although my favourite photo is this race track which maybe isn't super colorful.
