Guy a few days ago explained to me that I need to work on my exposures and working with a histogram. I've been trying to, and I think I'm getting closer, not 100% sure. Maybe you guys can crit and tip a little? I'll include a copy of the original, followed by my edit of it. [EXIF data available. I'm doing a series of noir inspired images and wondered if you guys got any tips. I'll be wanting to achieve a noir effect, maybe even a bit more stylised like Sin City. I wonder what kind of settings on the camera are optional for that? What kind of lens and focal length are optimal, and should I be aiming for a neutral flat image to edit in post or aim for black and white straight out of camera. I have some experience with photoshop and lightroom, but I have no clue how to achieve a ncie noir effect. Maybe I can find that by doing some searching on my own. Thanks in advance! I decided to try out a pinhole photography and I got few questions. 1. Have I done it right? (pic related). 2. I knew that my photos will end up being a bit blurry but what I got is far worse than what I expected. Is this how my photos should look like? (pics incoming). 3. What is the equivalent of focal length and aperture on my Nikon DX camera? [EXIF data available. After hours of searching with no avail I turn to you /p/. So I have a Nikon D7000 which is a crop sensor, but it's view finder is 100%. What I'm wondering is, do I see the final product through the viewfinder? As in, do I see what will be cropped before I take the photo? Thinking about picking up one of these for $45. Good idea? minimal controls, 35mm, completely mechanical, it has a battery operated light meter though. Right now I only have an iphone 5s. So I will probably do double takes with the two for a while, stockpile a bunch of film shots, and develop them eventually.
