I want to get a DSLR, I recently got into photography and I really enjoy it, so I want to get something a little more professional. Which one is good to start? Is pic related a good choice? I have a budget of $1000.

Stupidly bought a lens on Ebay without checking the pictures in detail. The guy stuck tape over the lens barrel for some reason and rates the lens at "9/10 excellent++ condition".

I'm wanting to do some HDR stuff, My camera does an HDR thing, but it saves the images as jpegs. Will the images turn out ok in jpeg, assuming the final product is a print no larger than 8x12in? I remember reading about a program a while back that took multiple exposures and could layer them together to make an HDR image, but I cant remember what the fuck it's called. If anyone knows of a good program like this, that's genuinely better than letting the camera do the work, I'd be willing to give it a shot, assuming I can get it for $250 or less. If it's some uber uber expensive bullshit, I'll just do without

Let's say you're walking along in a forest, enjoying the sunset, whistling a happy tune, and snapshitting like a 14 year old girl with her first DSLR (fast prime, 50mm or 35mm lens, 2deep4 zoom, 2stupid4 tripod). Then... lo and behold! The gods gift upon you every photographer's favorite part of nature—dead things! But, the light is fading fast, and your camera's high iso shots aren't so great, leaving you with high aperture/low depth of field spookyvision. How do you take a piece of an animal, whatever items are readily available in your local woodlands, the failing light, your camera that’s right at the edge of its abilities, and capture a decent image? Any tips on how to make spherical panoramas? I tried it out on one of my old panoramas, and it works pretty well, except for the center of the image, which looks absolutely hiedous. Currently I use Photoshop and polar coordinates, and there's just no info for the center for Photoshop work with. I've looked at Hugin, but I dismissed it quickly after seeing the odd interface. Reverse Mounting Lenses for Macro

Reverse Mounting Lenses for... 48 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hello /p/, What kind of lenses and lens combinations have delivered you good results? For reverse mounting a single lens, the lower the focal length the higher the maginification, so I'm shooting for the 24-50mm range. How about zoom lenses (like the kit), do they give much worse results compared to primes? Zoom lenses would be great as you can control the maginification. I've also tried reverse mounting a lens on top of another but I had to shoot wide open to avoid vignetting so the DOF was unbearably thin and focus stacking wasn't an option when hand holding the camera. In my case it was a 50mm on top of a 135mm, and the results were pretty bad due to thin DOF and aberrations.
