Advice needed. Nikon D3200 - Accessory Kit

3 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hello /p/. I have a Nikon D3200 and want to buy accessories for the first time. I found something on Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Accessory-NIKON-D3200-D5200/dp/B0047QRA2E/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top ) - Professional Kit, I know little about lenses etc. I take photos of all kinds, landscapes, portrait, trying macro shots, experimenting and so on. So I wonder if this is worth the buy. [EXIF data available. hi guys, i've been looking into ordering some big c-prints (in yurop). now, it appears the biggest roll of photopaper most prolabs use is 120cm. i was hoping i could go bigger than that. any of you have any experience with big enlargements? should i go inkjet instead, if so, what would the quality difference be compared to the c-print (if both done by a pro lab)? know any european online labs i can check out? thanks!

Hey /p/, I have 1,000+ film family photos dating from the early 1900's to the late 90's, how should I go about preserving them? Specifically, is there any preferred method to scan old pictures (i.e. anything more than sticking them in a scanner and turning them into a PDF), and what is the ideal backup system for what could potentially be dozens of gigabytes of files?

C41 mistakes

C41 development question, pee: I'm having a little trouble with my C41 developing. I've developed about 10 rolls with the 1l Tetenal Colortec C41 kit so far, 5 films in 290ml solutions each, extending development times 15 seconds each run. The results were prety much perfect, exactly what I would've gotten from the lab. The remaining concentrates were on the shelf for about a year now. Since I couldn't mix two working solutions from the remaining chemicals I decided to use the whole 420ml leftovers as one mix. The film turned out to be overdeveloped (very dense highlights, very dark and contrasty numbers on the film edges, too grainy) by about a stop or two after the first 3:15min run. Two questions: Shouldn't the developer - if too old and worn out - underdevelop the film? Do you have to reduce development times if you use more solution? I'm confused. I observed the temperatures and development times pretty strictly. [EXIF data available. Hey, /p/. OP would like to start photographing and so far I've been considering as buying either a Canon EOS M for 300 euros (comes with an 18-55mm objective, to be honest I don't know what the numbers mean; I shall learn it later) or a Nikon D3200 for 400 euros (also comes with an 18-55mm objective.) Which one would you recommend and why? You can also tell me your own suggestions if you want, it'd be greatly appreciated. The budget is below 500 euros, preferably ~450e. [EXIF data available. I'm looking to into amateur photography, only problem is I'm broke. I found a sx220hs brand new for 79 bucks. Is this a good deal? I'd be running chdk for time lapse on an aquarium if that's of any importance.

Sony RX-100 II

Sony RX-100 II 5 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Heading overseas in the next few weeks and I currently have a Canon 5D3 + 24L + 24-70 2.8L that I'm taking, but I was thinking maybe it's a good idea to get a point and shoot size camera so I'm not lugging heavy equipment everywhere I go. Therefore I'm interested in the RX-100 II, I can pick it up for just under AU$600 which is fine with me. Does anyone else have one that can make some comments about it? Good/bad decision? Thanks. I know gear threads aren't the most popular here but I've heard it's a good camera and /p/ is my favourite place for advice and help for photography related info!

So I'm looking to buy a new lens and I've narrowed it down to two and I need some input here. When buying your lenses, would you prefer a faster lens or one that has image stabilization? I'm looking at both the Canon 100mm macro and the Canon 135mm, so any input from someone with personal experience with these would be great too!
