Hey /p/hags. Want an everyday camera that's pocketable? BAM. Nikon J3 with a 10-30mm for $199. http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sdtid=7034796&sku=NK1J31030KRFB&ref=cj Coupon code: CANUDIGIT for one hundo twenty off. Only bad part, crop factor is atrocious (2.7x). And you're gonna wanna buy a pancake lens to make it pocketable.

New Lens

Got a new lens. The markings on it are all chipped, the glass is scratched up, and it's old (still fits my D3100 though, so it has to be 90s or late 80s at most). It was five bucks and it takes photos with a cool hazy texture. [EXIF data available. Hello /p/, those are my latest results with film. I started photographing this year so any advice is welcome. I'm using a manual focus point & shoot (Bauer SCOUT 35, Minox 35 clone) and Kodak's Pro Image 100 film.

I want to create Camera Raw Presets for Provia, Velvia and Astia film. Is there a site where people share presets? Otherwise it would work with a Photoshop tutorial and I can make it myself. Setup thread! Don't have any behind the scenes snaps myself, but I found this flickr gem: https://www.flickr.com/photos/stefantell/sets/72157612323337297/ Have similar resources yourself? Own BTS shots? Tips?

Maybe someone can help me with this. I was given a Nikon D700 camera and matching lens as a spring break gift earlier this year. I know it's a good camera but it seems inconvenient to use for someone who's not a photographer, even though I'm trying to learn the basics. And the lens doesn't zoom very much compared to the pocket camera I have. Is this an appropriate camera for someone to learn on? Would I be better off with a different kind of lens? Or completely different camera?

I know this is a somewhat pedestrian question, but I'd greatly appreciate any help with this. What settings do I need to change to get by colors to look like they do in this image?
