I come to you looking for assistance /p/. Turns out gramps used to have an oldschool soviet camera. I'd like to try it out but I have little experience with manual cameras and no experience with russian cameras from 50 years ago. Could any filmfags help me out? I've made a handy picture here with what I don't understand and can provide larger size images if you can't make out what the numbers are or whatever. [EXIF data available. Two questions: 1) Which is the greatest documentary photo agency of all time? (not necessarily included in this list of logos) 2) Within these, who is the greatest photog, and why? (images to be used as evidence) I await your replies with baited breath. [EXIF data available. /P/huck, I never thought I would be this guy but here I am. The photographer for a wedding this weekend fell through last minute and I've been asked to step in. I know, I know, I tried to pass it off to other people but no one else can do it. I've got borrowed equipment and my regular gear. I'll be bringing someone as a second shooter and pose director. I'm getting a set of good batteries for the flashes. I'm considering bringing a step stool and I've got a mono and tripod. I'm going in blind on this, I don't know the venue other than googling other pictures of it. I've only met the bride once and just learned her last name today. The original photographer gave me a list of poses they agreed on so I'm set there and I have settings down already for the cameras. What should I throw in the bag that I may need - besides the obvious extra batteries and cards. Tl;dr - What do you pack in your bag for a wedding?

So my cousin handed me a canon 1000D before he left home, and he said, he didn't need it anymore. Now I'm thinking to pick this up, and use it. I've read some books, did everything. As a noob, my question now is: what type of photography does a 1000D do best? Also, does it matter what type of camera I have?

Brown Dots???

Hey /p/, I will star this thread by saying sorry in advance. I am terrible at photography and am desperately trying to get better. Now that that's out of the way, I want to ask something. >why are there brown dots on all of my photos in the same place? I'm not sure if the photos are on my sensor or not, but I know that my lens is clean. Anyways, pic related. Any help would be awesome, thank you! [EXIF data available. Hey /p/ I've always wanted to get into photography and as I'm sure you all know, it's quite a costly hobby to have, so my primary focus has been acquiring work. I've applied to many places work and funnily enough I got a call back at a retail camera store. Now I'm going to assume I'm going to need to have some technical background but my experience in photography has been primary in its artform but not's its technicality, so is there anything I can watch within the timespan of two days to give me enough to get pass the interview? I will head over to the library all day and pour over books, but as of right are there any technical but not too heavy video series or YouTube channels I can give a shot? Any help is appreciated, thank you all in advance.

Hey /p/. I'm starting out a degree in photography. This is my freshman year, but I've been fiddling with photography outside of school for a year or two now. If I could get some general criticism that'd be dandy. I'll post a few more images in the thread. [EXIF data available. k guys I have some questions about the use of film in the modern age. people like to talk about the preferable color reproduction and dynamic range of film vs digital. however, for any practical use, an image taken on film still has to be digitized nowadays. does this negate those advantages? if it's possible to accurately digitize film, that should imply/confirm that it's quite possible to digitally reproduce the 'look' of film without using film to begin with. if it's not possible, then it's still unproductive to use film unless your only desired output is optical printing. please tell me where I'm wrong here
