How do you find good places to take photos? Just moved to a new town and don't know where to go.

Photo's of how horrible our world is. I go on extensive walks every single day and take photo's of the crap I see that pisses me off. EVERY off ramp I pass has hundreds of Starbucks Coffee cups thrown out the drivers window as they are on their way to work. I think it's interesting how the on ramps are always spotless.

http://seeimpossible.usa.canon.com/ Any thoughts/ideas/both about what's about to happen? Are they going to release a high megapickle beast, also rumored as '3D'? Or are they going to combine Foveon technology/stacked sensors with a fast processing engine which will provide superior dynamic range and sharpness? Shits about to get down. ids habbening. And yes, it depends also.

Stupid Questions Thread

I came here to ask a stupid question and noticed that the last Stupid Questions Thread (>>2440094) was autosaging, so here's a new one. So I have a film-era full-frame lens, and I put it on my crop DSLR. The lens has a depth-of-field scale on it. Is that scale still accurate or usable? I'm under the impression that at a given aperture, focal length, and distance to the subject, full-frame will have the smaller depth of field. (I know the field of view is different so you have to change one of those to frame the same shot, etc etc, but I'm not talking about that) So if I want to shoot at, say, f/8, and want to be focused at the hyperfocal distance, I can line up infinity focus with the f/8 DoF marking, and know that my picture will be in focus out to infinity, since my crop camera will have at least as much or more DoF than the full-frame film the lens's scale is calibrated for?
