Hey /p/ I was wondering if you could help me. I've been shooting a lot with my mirrorless fixed lens camera phone (HTC One X) and I think I'm outgrowing it as great as it is it is seriously lacking in the bokeh department. I want to get a camera that can do bokeh photography but also general photography. I'm considering getting this http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-14-2-Digital-Camera-Black/dp/B009W4E4JS/ And this http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=NK8518G And using the adapter to make them work. What do you think?

Alright, so this shot was made using the focus pull technique. Does anyone know if this can be achieved using a digital camera, or nah? (If it helps anyone answer, I'm using a Nikon Coolpix s800c which you can change the lens settings on, like a firework lens)

I'm putting together my first photo show and I'm looking for a bit of advice. I have gallery space reserved for my 6 photographers. 1 of the 6 shoots with film and the others all do digital. However, at this point I'm running out of money quickly and I'm curious what the best and cheapest way to print and display the photographers' photos. Also should I charge the photographers printing fees or should I eat the cost and take it out of my commission if anything sells? Also, one of photographers is a fairly big deal (he did agreed to be in the show as a favour to one of my close friends) and I'm a bit nervous he's going to think I'm a completely clueless. What is this darkness in the upper right corner? This has happened to me several times when shooting different rolls of film, so it's not due to a defective roll. It's definitely not one of my fingers, my fingers are nowhere near that corner when taking photos. I use a Nikon FE. [EXIF data available. Non photography fag here (which will become obvious in my next sentence anyway). Is anything like pic related actually real, or is it the trick of long-exposure cameras? I mean, surly you can sit back in the few places not ruined by light and enjoy the stars, but you can't really see the same thing you see in these amazing pictures with your naked eye, surly?

http://boingboing.net/2014/06/27/the-woman-who-shoots-ghosts.html >Picture a photograph of a man with two faces — one grimacing in pain, one open-mouthed in ecstasy. They float in a field of darkness, lit red, connected only by a pale-pink thread of motion-blur. Is this an image of a man jerking his neck wildly, taken with a long exposure? Or is it the image of a physical medium, a person sensitive the invisible world of spirits, channeling an intelligence from beyond the grave? [EXIF data available. What is the etiquette on shooting strangers? How do I ask a person on the street if I can take their photo? Or is that too creepy? pic unrelated

What are good gear equipment companies ( I'm just interested in the US, but I'm sure we have people in other areas interested)? For that matter, what about business insurance companies for covering things like non-paying clients, clients trying to sue you and the like? Who have you had good experiences with? Who should be avoided? I've heard people say you can just get a rider to your apartment/ home insurance, but the only one my company offers is a joke that doesn't even cover 1/3 the value of my walk around gear. Also, can someone share stories about their experiences with the claims process?
