Need some constructive criticism

Hey /p/ I would appreciate some constructive criticism on this shot. I took it March last year and it's from the first "real" photo shoot I did for a band. I know it's not that interesting, but I kinda dig it and I would really like to hear some pointers for what you guys think i can do better.

I was out on a short trip in the yesterdays fog. I've been feeling less of a photographer lately, as if I've lost my eye for it. It's just a few photos, but I'd like you guys to critique them as I can't tell whether they are good or not. [EXIF data available. portrait thread

I really like the stories behind portraits. Can we get a portrait thread with stories behind them? I met this guy in Slab City, near the Salton Sea. He lives in his trailer, plays in the weekly music roundups, and owns a really nice Kawasaki Ninja, I would've guessed a solid $10,000 bike. He was really nice. I wish I could remember his name. The last time I was in Slab City, he was gone, his bike was gone, and the motorhome had new residents. [EXIF data available. In deference to our new friend, let's have a thread with what we consider important photographs. WWII provides quite a lot of these, imo, but this is the one that always sticks with me. Let's have a sale/deal thread. Yeah, it's gear, but good prices on gear are nice to know about...might be what finally unite you with that one thing you've been on the fence about getting. To start with, Amazon has Sigma lenses for Canikon/Sony on sale. Not super great deals, but every dollar counts. [EXIF data available. Noob

Hello /p/, The only experience I have with photography is using a camera phone. I would like to buy a noob-friendly camera and would like to learn to use it properly. I'm interested in good performance in car as I enjoy taking photos of roads (but often get dashboard reflection), and at night because I want to take photos of starry skies. Ideally it'd perform well in any situation. Are there any cameras that fit my needs? I'm willing to spend a few hundred bucks but I don't have a set price limit. Anything to recommend to someone starting out? [EXIF data available. Is there a consensus on the best way of digitizing film nowadays? I recently learned about the "DSLR scanning" method and from my naive tech-based background it sounds like this scheme should be capable of arbitrarily high resolutions, limited only by the magnification of your lens. Take a large quantity of shots at extreme magnification, stitch them with PTGui or something, get gigantic image. Drum scanners shouldn't have much reason to exist anymore (theoretically). If you've tried this along with traditional scanning methods, can you comment on the relative quality? [EXIF data available. What do you guys think about this "pro photographers" work? I would feel ripped off, if I paid for photos like this, what do you think?
