Not sure where else to post this, figured maybe someone here would have a clue, because I'm pretty useless. I work in a remote area, outdoors, of a baseball stadium. Last night I kept sniffing this constant smell around me, awful smell, but couldn't place it. Burning...something? Iodine? It was familiar, but I couldn't figure it out. Five hours of smelling it, I go home, and it's burned up into my sinuses and my head and I can't get rid of it. Boom. I get it. It reminds me of darkroom fluids, the stuff you use to develop in a darkroom. Why would I be smelling this in a place where there clearly were not any photo developing materials? Certain chemical? Something I should tell someone about that might be dangerous? tl;dr why does it smell like a darkroom

I'm trying to get back into some night photography, but my technique and pp skills have suffered from the lack of use. I'm seeking some ideas to make this photo better in photoshop. I have the mountains and stars in a separate layer in photoshop because I had to do the exposures separately. what can i do to make this look more natural? also feel free to critique the composition, avoid telling me the starry exposure was too long. i realize this. Tips for photographing the moon

1 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hi /p/. I have heard that the moon is going to be the closest to earth tonight, and it is full moon, so I decided to make some practice yesterday. However, I have no clue of astrophotography and no proper gear for the job (probably), so I wanted to ask for some pointer, for shooting and post processing. I have a tripod and a 70-300mm / a 18-105mm btw. No filters. Pic related. I took it yesterday but did not turn out that well. When I apply noise reduction to the sky, it becomes 3 colored, as if there are 4 circles in each other. I can post the .NEF if you like. [EXIF data available. Is a Nikon D3100 a good camera?

3 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
I'm looking into getting this camera. It'll be my first. Are they easy to use? And do they take pretty nice pictures? I'm having a baby shower soon and would love to take close to professional pictures. I don't want a really complicated camera, though. So does anyone have any knowledge on this camera?

Hey /p/ I have this old thing, a light meter app on my phone, some Kodak Tri-X "Pan 400" black and white film that expired in June 2000 and I've never shot film in my life. What do. New photographer here. How do I get over my fear of taking photos of people in public? I feel that everyone doesn't want to have their photo taken and would hate me if I did so.

I currently use a really cheap Sony (Forgot the exact model) which was under $160 and it takes some pretty decent photos but the effects are very stock and I can't alter any actual things, i.e: shutter speed. Can someone recommend a decent camera around $600-700? I heard of a Canon (I think she said Canon) that was $650, but I can't remember the type. Pic related.
