Searched the catalog to no avail. Point me in the right direction if I missed a thread. Someone mentioned lacquer for paper mâché in the daft punk helmet thread. Can someone recommend a brush-on lacquer that'd be good as such? I'm also wondering if anyone's been able to airbrush lacquer onto their paper models. I've got an Iwata HP-C Plus and the only thing that doesn't clog it instantly so far is high-quality fountain pen ink. Which is fun, but I'd get a whole lot more use out of it if I could spray any sort of lacquer. Slow drying and low toxicity would be ideal. Thanks for help/angst/etc. Love you guys.

Hello whoever comes across this and decides to read this, I just have a simple question to ask: I've decided to start a papercraft that's pretty difficult (Legion from ME3 to be exact) and I just want to know if I should print it on cardstock as I do with my other papercrafts, or should I use regular paper because of the several small pieces? I've never attempted a papercraft with pieces that are this small.

Hey people of /po/ Non-time lurker, first-time poster here My GF is studying to be a journalist, and I'm trying to get her hooked on the comic Transmetropolitan because I want her to be a kickass journalist, so I want to make her one of these(pic related). Had to cut it out of the comic page, so I guess this is the best pic I have of it(google was not my friend). How to make a pack of Have another/Stress managers? Any help where to start?

Sorry if this isn't -quite- papercraft related. Figured it's still close enough to ask here. Anyways, I have a steady supply of cardboard where I work, and I've been thinking of using it to make furniture (light load shelving, side-tables, etc, nothing too crazy) by gluing it together with alternating grain direction using white glue. I figured with enough layers (3, maybe 4) it should be more like thick particle board and easy enough to use for construction. My question though is this: what can I use to cut the glued pieces? Is there a sort of saw I could use that wouldn't tear it to shreds, or be too thick? A hand tool would be preferable, I don't really have space for, like, a table saw.

Hey /po/ I found this papercraft patter for a box insert to organize the clusterfuck that is civilization the board game. Original post: http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic1393940_md.jpg Link to PDF so you don't have to sign up: https://sites.google.com/site/araknoidgames/images/Civilization_papercraft_box_insert.pdf This is my first time really trying to fold a papercraft pattern. Although I'm totally lost on how to fold this thing. Right now I have page 3 cut out and I've fiddled with it for some time now and can't seem to make anything resembling what I want. If someone could help me try and read this thing I would much appreciate it. It looks like it might need to be cut but it doesn't seem to give and clear indication.

Heya /po/. I use a few different craft knives regularly, as most of you probably do. A couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to upgrade, find a replacement for the nasty surgical scalpel handle. I quickly found the Olfa AK-4, and despite continuous searching afterwards I couldn't find a higher quality knife. I bought one, and it is definitely the nicest craft knife I've had. I'm really picky about some of my tools though. I'll be content with the Olfa knife if I have to, but I want something nicer. Folding knives and fountain pens both easily go into the $200 range, but I don't need to stab anyone or write a novel. I want to do papercraft. I've ~4 years of machining experience, so making a knife from scratch seemed logical. I'm not that well-off though; I can't put $600 into a single knife, which is probably roughly what it'd cost to make one because of all the tooling required. For instance, the grooves that hold the blade likely will be done by a die sinker EDM, which (you guessed) I don't have in my bedroom. If there's external interest though, this pursuit might be worth the effort. A batch of ten knives is worth the trouble. I don't intend to make any money, despite the labor involved. I'm mostly after a really, really nice knife handle. They'd cost close to USD $250 each. I know this is 4chan and likely not my target audience, but some of you must appreciate top-notch tools. I'm interested in your opinions, suggestions, trolling, etc. Construction details to follow. Picture quite related.

Origami Mayan Figures

Hello, /po/: I'm here because lately on school I've been reading a lot about mayan culture. And as part of an exposition, I think some origami would look pretty nice. I'm looking for 3 models in particular, which are the main animals from this culture: the jaguar, the eagle and the quetzal (the one in the picture). If anyone has folding instructions for one of this models, I'll be very thankful. P.D.: I'm not a master at folding, so please don't post really hard models.

This amazing 1:60 scale model of a Boeing 777 airliner is being crafted from thousands of meticulously cut pieces of manila folders by papercraft artist Luca Iaconi-Stewart. The doors even have working hinges. WIP videos here. https://www.youtube.com/user/lucaiaconistewart http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucaiaconistewart/sets/
