Hey /po/. Wondering if you can help me. I'm doing a design course at uni, and the project for my current module is to find an art or a craft and to design a social network around it. I realise that a social network dedicated to a niche hobby would never do well, that's not the point of the project. I've decided to do papercraft. I have a few questions I'd love for you to answer: What is your age? Job? Is papercraft just a hobby to you or do you use it commercially? How did you get into it? What do you use this board for the most? I see a lot of template requests and progress reports. Any response is good, trying to get a feel for the papercraft community and /po/ seems relatively active compared to dedicated forums out there.

It seems everyone has a different opinion on this, but I was wondering what would work best for strengthening/making papercraft look better? I was thinking about Clear Coat Acrylic or Lacquer with a matte/semi gloss finish, but I dont know for sure which is best.

If you've seen my models you can guess somewhat my style. Looking for ideas for my next model. Nothing too complex, I'm job hunting atm. Note: Attachment is all of my models documented to date. Red means lost/never to be folded again, green is maybe trash/improvements possible, and blue is completed/ satisfied (newest crab model yet to be added)

ITT: Post front of the most lousy non-eBook origami book in your collection and add short description to why. Pic related: Origami Flowers - James Minoru Sakoda The front basically tells the level of quality of the rest of the book. This 1999 edition contains numerous crappily grainy grayshaded pictures, but not one in color except the front. The editor has in addition done a fine level of work resizing ΓΌbersmall pictures to fill and fit the pages, creating a pixelated grayscale hell showing no detail whatsoever. I still keep it in my collection because I feel sorry for that little odd fella'.

"Black Mirror" origami penguin

I just saw the second episode of the tv-series Black Mirror and really liked the model of the origami penguin. Does anyone recognise it, who did it and where can I find instructions, if possible? The closest I can find is Peter Engels penguin from his "10-Fold Origami", but it's not quite the same by the feets. Can anyone help me?

So i'm building a handgun for my first papercraft project. I was just wondering how folks usually reinforce the finished product? I dunno how solid the finished model would be but do these things usually turn out to be fragile or would it survive a con or two? thanks in advance

Having a round map of Kerbin would be handy, and having an actual papercraft globe would be pretty cool as well. Is there some way to make a globe from the flat map?
