Explain to me why I should study Physics or Atmospheric Science for grad school. Keep in mind I can get into the world's top atmospheric PhD program without too much trouble but I might get stuck in a fairly average Physics PhD program.

I'm very courious about what do you people think of Breaking Bad in a scientific standpoint; Would a science teacher really know how to synthetize meth and make awesome explosions so easily (having the right tools)?

Any medfags out there? I don't know if here is the place to ask this, but what the fuck are these? These things started popping on my fingernails for no reason at all, they look a little like bruises but I feel no pain. Do they look like melanonychia in its early stages?

Could you help a retard out in understanding floating power supplies, /sci/? So I have read the following: >For floating DC power supplies, the voltage potential appears from the positive output terminal to the negative output terminal. There is no voltage potential (at least, none with any power behind it) from either the positive terminal to earth ground or from the negative output terminal to earth ground. What I dont understand, is that I've thought that current will flow between two points that are on different voltage potentials. So in this case why is there no potential difference between either of the outputs and the earth, when there is clearly a difference between the outputs? What stops current flowing from a floating power supply to the earth?

Hello /Sci I am a poor student fag and can't afford to buy a license for a flow cytometry analysis software, yet i need to work from home when i do my analysis and can't use my lab's computers. Are there some torrents for FloJo and some work around the license? Maybe there are good alternative programs to be used for free?

Hey /sci/, I was wondering if anyone had some online resources for basic linear algebra that possibly leads into some more advanced concepts. I've checked the sticky, but unfortunately all it had was Calc III. pic unrelated

Studying for an exam, asked to prove that the class of Turing-Recognizable languages is closed under symmetric difference. I have broken that down to mean (A u B) - (A n B), and we know A u B and A n B are both closed. How can we prove A - B is also closed?
