Ok, so another darn civ thread! My class was cancelled and I have a few more hours and I figured I'd start one. 3 votes for race and place. It can be new or I can keep a previous one going. (Kind of want to start a new one. I don't have all my notes with me for the previous threads and I might fuck something up. If you don't care about that you can vote for it) Notes I have >Machines in the Tundra >Slimes in the Swamp >Homunculus in the Necropolis

Hey /tg/ are DnD games, specifically those held in public places such as a comic book store, good environments in which to learn social skills? Are the people that play these sorts of games open and friendly or do they tend to be autistic sperglords with even less social skills then me?

''......because somewhere along the line, the tabletop and video gaming community decided its sole purpose was to make sure that nobody has any fun.'' Should I take this with a bit of salt or is it a sad fact?! http://www.cracked.com/blog/3-fan-communities-that-hate-their-own-members/#ixzz2yQNl9CCx Anyhow RPG&Tabletop funny, sad or just cringe story time!!

The fact that several government agents, including most of the representatives of a new transglobal security force, the aptly named Orbital Security Force, or OSF, and SPEAR, the Strategic Paramilitary Enforcement Armament Reserve force, the group of PMCs scattered after the Corporate conflict. “We need to just wipe Saturn from the face of the solar system. Use antimatter, positrons, nukes, they can't be allowed to live!” “That is unacceptable! We cant' destroy another species!” “They tried to invade our planet!” the SPEAR representative, a man with an elaborate mustache, brown hair, and a power blue suit, with European features protested. “My faction didn't support the overthrow of a nation!” the representative of OSF pointed out, a woman, with black hair, quiet eyes, and a black pantsuit replied. “So Okowe,” the two say, “What do you think about this alien situation.. >X “Its tragic, but we need to communicate” >X “They can't be allowed to live.” >X “Launch an invasion.” >X “Leave this to me” >X “Custom” You were mentally rehearsing your next operation which was..

The introduction of "felinids" to the 40k background predictably provoked a frothing spume of nerdrage when the last edition of the game came out. Now that's had a year or so to die down, I'm curious - did anyone ever actually go and convert or model an army of Imperial Catguard?

Hey /tg/, I've returned once more. Time for yet another Magic lore/fluff thread! To start us off: Why the fuck am I so attracted to Tezzeret? I honestly have no clue.

Homebrew DH Campaign

Hey there, I'm DM'ng for the first time, and it's a Dark Heresy campaign. So far it's gone pretty well, the battles haven't been too life threatening as the party is still in the relatively safe part of the world I made, and I've been sending various enemies at them to make sure I know their strength level. However, I'm in a pickle, and I dont know how to resolve it. In my world there is a civilised bit, with 5 small hives, ruled by a High Consul (who is essentially taking the role of the Inquisitor). In the uncivilised "badlands" there is a city, called The Bastion. The party has been interacting with the Head Arbite of the Bastion, The Governor of the Bastion, and the Captain of the Rangers (soldiers dedicated to fighting chaos). They dont trust the Captain, who is the good guy, they trust the Head Arbite, who is the bad guy and they are disrespectfully indifferent to the Governor, to the point that they turned him from a potential patron to an adversary. How do I keep the party from starting a fight with these people without railroading them or turning these 3 fairly powerful characters into passive lil' bitches?

Karan says, “- that’s why the sky is blue, Michelle. Isn’t that fascinating, Michelle?” Oh my god. It’s been at least half a hour now and she’s STILL talking. Mmmmmhmmm. You’ve tuned her out, by and large, by just focusing on the view of the lake. You haven’t seen water this blue and calm...ever? Sure, you saw the Atlantic on the way there and back, but, still...nothing like this. Karan continues, “Did you know that of all the human senses that your sense of sm-” ...that’s weird. “Michelle, why is someone at my gate? Who is she, Michelle. Michelle?” Her...avatar?...that’s been floating nearby looks sour, ...upset? Her tone even seems...hostile. She pulls up a camera feed and displays it next to her, showing a woman (hey, Wendy’s here!) in an...wow, that car’s a lot newer than you were expecting, honestly. She looks bored. “That’s Wendy, Karan. We’re friends. Let her in.” Karan looks huffy as the gate slowly begins to retract and Wendy rolls in through the yard on the driveway that you’re pretty sure would qualify as a two lane road. You hope this isn’t going to be a thing with her. It. Wendy parks lazily up front, which you know because Karan hasn’t taken the feed down yet (although you notice it has changed perspective (camera?)), and watch her as she walks up the path to your front door. She’s wearing a knee length dress and pretty white flats. She’s got a medium sized navy blue bag over her right shoulder and under her arm. Her hair is also much straighter than it was last night/this morning, wrapped casually in a side ponytail on her opposite shoulder. >[1/2]

I have two questions for people who plays EDH. 1. Blue players, don't you feel guilty about playing that color? How are you even capable to enjoy the game in the first place instead of being scared by how rotten your souls and twisted your minds are? 2. Payers that don't use blue in their decks, how do you feel about all that blue-induced suffering? How are you capable to enjoy the game instead of being angry to the pooint where you're unable to do anything but swearing and punching and kicking and biting and kicking again and again and again until those blue fuckers will be spitting their teeth all over the floor? P.S. I'm usually playing via network, and it's basically my own answer to the second question. Friend once said it may be fun. "Fun", motherfucker! I hope some day he'll pay for all the suffering I had endured.

Which do you personally prefer and why; point-buy systems or class/level systems? Pic barely related. I don't care about those games specifically, they were just the first that came to mind.

so /tg/ im trying to make a homebrew TTRPG for kids at the camp im going to be counselor at, and im going to use (to make it a bit more simpler) 4 kinds of "civilizations" to base the armors for them (its a one piece armor kind of thing), so lets say, one of the four is english medieval kind of thing and the evolution path goes like pic related (mind not where the armor is really from), and this got me thinking, what would the other 3 be (and if you got pic to help with the evolution thing)

Hey, /tg/ How do you handle Alchemy and such enlightened players who have "esoteric" knowledge? I swear, man, those people are the worst to game with. Anyone know "that guy"? Those sorts of people think so highly of themselves that they ignore the rest of the world and think that every single fucking thing has a hidden meaning to it. Pic related. Who gives a damn about this stupid geometry shit?
