Time for some grimdark songwriting. I'll start off with two songs that fit real well in 40K with just a few changes in lyrics First off is Banned from Argo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH8lvwXx_Y8 When we pulled into Footfall Port in need of R&R, The crew set out investigating every joint and bar. We had high expectations of their hospitality, But found too late it wasn't geared for spacers such as we. Chorus: And we're banned from Footfall, everyone. Banned from Footfall, just for having a little fun. We spent a jolly shore leave there for just three days or four, But Footfall doesn't want us any more. The Captain's tastes were simple, but his methods were complex. We found him with five partners, each of a different world and sex. The Shore Police were on the way-we had no second chance. We beamed him up in the nick of time-and the remnants of his pants. Our Engineseer would yield to none at putting down the brew; He out-drank seven Space Marines and a demolition crew. The Navigator didn't win, but he out-drank almost all, And now they've got a shuttlecraft on the roof of Gov'nor Hall. Our proper, cool First Officer was drugged with something green, And hauled into an alley, where he suffered things obscene. He sobered up in Sickbay and he's none the worse for wear, Except he's somehow taught the Battle Sister how to swear. The Head Nurse disappeared awhile in the major Dope Bazaar, Buying an odd green potion "guaranteed to cause no harm" She came home with no uniform and an oddly cheerful heart, And a painful way of walking-with her feet a yard apart. (Cont in next post.)

Well, you wanted it, you got it.

Be careful what you wish for. You wanted a codex that could change the meta, you got it. You wanted something that can counter screamerstar/jetseer council, you got it. But I bet you didn't want it like this. The IG codex is full of more bullshit OP combos that Tau. More divination psykers than Eldar. More ignores cover than Tau, Eldar, and Chaos Marines combined. It has a vehicle that can be taken in squadrons that fires FOUR large blasts, ordnance barrage to snipe shit out of squads like heralds, thats got shred, twin linked, and ignores cover. its s4 ap6, but besides the fact that it will rape cultists/gants off the map, there's no infantry scoring unit in this game that will survive a turn of that things 48' shooting. I doubt even terminators could, considering three of them can drop 12 S4 shredding large blasts that are twin linked and ignores cover. All for the low price of 65 points each! >cont'd

Can we have a thread about weird MtG rules, errata anecdotes, counterintuitive card interacations and stuff like that? For example, the oracle text if Waylay has "Exile them at the beginning of the next cleanup step." instead of the last printed lines. Turns out, Ball Lightning for 2W is kind of overpowered.

Rolled 6, 4 = 10 >used to playing d20 system >get great character gen rolls >great rolls in general >even the d6s treat me well with above average stats >my d20s are orbs of crits and at other times amusing fails >try Traveller >average-shit rolls everywhere, including chargen >failed all but one diceroll so far I swear my other dice are sapping all the good luck out of spite for not being used.

Humans in multiracial fantasy... 0 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Humans in multiracial fantasy settings thread? What are some interesting approaches you guys know? So me and a couple of buddies have been designing a setting for a while with a few races we made up. Each race's fluff has a deep connection to how they survive in nature, no matter how advanced they are they all to some extent pay respects to the natural world or have an obvious bond. The sentient magic elementals come from condensations in the world's magic, the fungus people grow their young from the ground, the dragon-like people live with respect to the sky and weather, and so on. Since our humans are pretty much like humans we fluffed them the least. They have no known ruins dating back to very ancient times like other races. Their respect for nature is on average far less than the other races, like they've been surviving as an advanced civilization for so much longer they've completely lost their roots, and unlike the others the vast majority of their gods are in the shape of humans. So what if humans are an alien race of some kind with vastly different origins from the rest of our 'naturally-occuring' races? Ours have an affinity for magic that alters fundamental physical laws, as opposed to just creating the effects, like disrupting gravity and teleporting. I'm thinking this might be an interesting approach.

Competing Faerun Apocalypses

So I am running a 3.5 Faerun game (players choice) that is experiencing an apocalypse (my choice) Basically deep within the underground. Way below the Underdark a race of flame spirits have been toiling away. These flame spirits have mined huge quantities of iron and fashioned themselves armor. This magically attuned power armor resembles iron stoves from circa 1850 with arms/legs about the height of a Dwarf. Armed with warpicks and shovels they can rapidly mine to the surface. At first they purged the Underdark, which was awesome. People didn't know why the Underdark went dark and didn't care. Then they began surfacing random places and assaulting towns. Imbued with great strength and fire magics they are an insanely tough opponent that's immune to most attacks magic and mundane. tl;dr Army of fire spirits in power armor from Under-Underdark. Surface randomly The second apocalypse is caused by an ancient calender a la Stonehenge deep within Chult. This calender has finalized and during a lunar eclipse fired a great beam of light into the sky. This cracked the moon into many small chunks and now these magically attuned chunks are falling. "The Skyfall" event has a few effecets 1) They are meteors so they will come crashing down and explode whole cities/areas 2) The whimpering burning magics cause zones of magical dissaray when they explode over an area (airburst) or onto an area (crater formation). This magical chaos causes spells to go haywire. I'm not sure how yet, was hoping for ideas. 3) The meteor metal shards cause mutation. Specifically corruption of the mind. People that live near "tainted" areas with magical "radiation" eventually will go mad. 4) The orbiting non-fallen rocks have caused a magical field of "gas" around the whole world. This gas blocks out the sunlight. As more rocks fall the gas dissipates and more light can shine through but initially it's pitch black 24/7 for about a week. tl;dr Magic meteors from the blown up moon fuck up magic

Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Muv%20Luv%20Royal%20Quest Twitter: @ReverseChomp Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/vW6dDi1u ------ You are Flying officer Julian Reber of the Royal Air Force. You joined the RAF so you could reclaim continental Europe from the BETA, aliens who threaten to exterminate all human life on Earth. You're currently engaged in a massive purge of alien forces in the Italian peninsula. You've just cleared a beach landing zone for armored infantry and supply lines, but your support has been eliminated by Laser-class BETA and it's just a matter of minutes before the Lasers have you in their sight and this whole operation goes sideways. "I'm coordinating the squadron," Vivian says from behind you. "Everyone else should be clear of the Lasers, but we're out in the open. We need to either retreat or find cover." Standard procedure is for naval support to hang back precisely so that it doesn't get sniped by Lasers, so if you leave right now, you can rendezvous with the Royal Navy and regroup. It'll probably cost you your current advantage though. You could also rush forward towards cover. You're surrounded by ruins, a forest and a mountain range, so there are plenty of places to hide. The downside is that anything that covers you from the Lasers also covers the Lasers from you. Of course, you could just take a third option and grab the nearest semi-live BETA. You've done it before, but you're not sure if the rest of your squadron is good enough to pull it off. >"Screw this. Vivian, sound the retreat." >"Keep moving forward. We need to get to cover." >"Everyone, grab a live BETA and use it as a shield."

/tg/, I come to you with an embarrassing problem, but one that must be addressed. Before I ask my question, I need to explain the situation. My group has recently taken part in what the GM described as "a way to get the murderhobo out of everybody." It is a series of settings tailored to the player's character, who is the player with special abilities. The game proceeds with each player having a short "scene" to themselves, with turns proceeding in a predetermined fashion. The GM wants a turn, and as he has served admirably as our guide, I volunteered to run his scene for him. I was a damn fool. Storytime continued in following posts. TL;DR version is in the last post explaining the situation.

How does the /tg/ like to refer to distances in their games? Do you insist on doing everything in increments of 5 feet like in dnd 3.5? Do you literally just say things are X number number of squares away like in 4e? Is everything in a strange mix yards, feet and miles like in ADND or you just outright say player can move 5 they Mini five inches on the table top and let players work out what that means 'in game' for themselves?
