Praise the Omnissiah!~~ http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/6th_Edition_Tactics/Mechanicum_%2830k%29 So I'm wondering, what kind of lists would you run using the Taghmata? Once again the Castellax seem amazing, but I can't really figure out what's the best way to equip and use them.

So, /tg/, I can find a ton of websites about parts or specs of historical armor and weapons. However, it seems to be very hard to find anything about the USAGE of them, other than 'FOOTMEN USED SPEARS'. Furthermore, I'm more so interested in the cultural and historical usage of specific weapon types (i.e. more specific than 'spear' or 'sword'), and not just that, but also the cultural implications of the usage of certain weapon types (e.g. someone of X status would not use Y weapon because association with Z, armies rarely used armor X against kingdom Y because Z, etc), the theoretical concepts behind how a weapon was made, etc. S-surely there's a comprehensive resource for this kind of information somewhere, right? (On a side note, it's really annoying how 90% of terms for armor pieces and weapon types don't have a translation in my native language.)

i am running a pathfinder game, and the dwarf cleric pawn i have has a wide brimmed hat. My friend accidentally pissed our dwarf cleric off by calling it a sombraro. later when he fell unconscious, he proceeded to do a mexican hat dance around it. i decided to have fun and summon a mexican/meso-american styled death god named El Muerte Gigante and rolled a die to see what he would do... a natural fucking 20. in the corniest mexican accent i could pull asked if he wanted to make a deal. Connor, my friend, asked to be level 20. after pulling some stuff out my ass i decided he had to bake 7 pounds of pan de muerto(a traditional food for dia de los muetros) and, being an alchemist, shouts that baking is science for hungry people and rolls craft alchemy... another natural 20! I go ahead and let him accend to godhood (which pisses the hell out of the cleric) . he is now making a new character as an inquisitor of el muerte gigante

I became aware of this 20th anniversary edition recently. It is basically the same classic system with a few modifications. I still haven't read it all but some parts of it still sound pretty vague. How do you people play it? Like how is the range of movement of the mind or conjuration? Do you make them based on line of sight or just being aware of an object position is enough? Can you move/conjure objects behind a closed door? If it is based on sight does blinding the caster makes him incapable of using such powers?

Making a D&D3.5e mechanic, need help

Making a D&D3.5e mechanic,... 0 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
I'm making a D&D mechanic for 3.5e, but I need to know how the values in the Treasure Values per Encounter table in the DMG p51 relate to each level. Is there an equation that defines it or are they just arbitrary numbers in a table? I feel like there should be SOME sort of equation to relate them. This is for a campaign where people will be in a metropolis where encounters are few, so they need an income based on their level and a mutable Power score for each player, so if I can find out how those numbers relate to each level, I can make an equation to make Power relevant to income. If this doesn't make sense then just move on to the next post. Thanks in advance for help

Okay /tg/, I know you get this question all the time, but I need your advice. This summer I'm going to be running a game or two for my friend and her SO. They've never played any sort of PnP RPG before, so I really need to choose the right game to start them off with, or else I risk souring them on the whole idea. What's a system that's simple enough for novices to pick up and play without feeling too brainless or gimmicky? Currently, I'm leaning towards WFRP2e if they decide they want to play something more traditionally "D&D", or nWoD Mortals if they want something modern.

So /tg/, I just got the go ahead from the craft shop I work at to set up a miniature painting class. I'm hoping to run it in about a month or so using the Dark Angel Tac marines from Dark Vengeance. I'm planning on billing it as a beginners class so I wanted to ask you elegen/tg/entlemen, > What techniques would you say are essential for a beginner? > What would you say is a fair price for what will probably be an hour and a half session, and two tac marines? As is I'm thinking bout teaching > Drybrushing > Washing > Basecoating > THIN YOUR PAINTS! Pic is what I intend to use as a demo and what I will teach to. Before you all say I suck, I threw together in about half an hour using minimal techniques, paints, and one brush just as a proof of concept.

So after way too long, too much time spent in frustration and hated, I've finally given up DMing and accepted that all players are shitty human beings. Thanks for the fun, but I'm going to find a hobby where my enjoyment isn't dictated by whether or not you fucktards can be bothered to remember you volunteered to show up for a game.

His first CoC PC, how fucked is he?

I'll be running a CoC game soon, and it will be the first time I've run this game but I have always wanted to. I have a player ready who wants to play but luckily knows nothing of the mythos. He rolled up the stats for his character and this is what he got, how fucked is he? Job: Mercenary Str 11, con 11, pow 8, dex 13, App 11, Siz 12, Int 11, Edu 9 SAN: 40 Idea 55 Luck 40 Know 45 HP 12 Magic 8 Bargain 35, Fist/Punch 80, FIre-arms 70, climb 30, Navigate 50, Track 20, Sneak 20, Swim 30, Conceal 30, Drive Automobile 30, First Aid 40, Locksmith 20, Hide45, spot hidden 45 I know he's combat focused but he chose that after he rolled up his base stats thinking it made the most sense with his characters stats. Luckily he knows the game is high mortality so he wont be choked when he eventually dies.

Am I like... the only one out there's that's passionate about making my own original characters in certain settings or themes? Like, I already have an all-around medieval/fantasy character, and I also have a superhero character. It kinda bothers me that there's not many people as autistic as me that likes doing that.

What's a good way to (semi-realistically) simulate submarine combat in a way that isn't dry and tedious? I was considering large-scale LotGH-esque fleet combat but with subs/torpedoes replacing lasers/spess ships; any fa/tg/uys ever run anything similar?
