Best System for brutal Metro 2033

Best System for brutal Metro... 24 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
I came up with the idea of DMing a brutal, sandbox, rogue-like game set in the Metro 2033 universe and I was wondering what kind of System you guys know of that would fit with this. I'm not shy of doing a fair share of homebrewing, but I need some skeleton to start with. I'm familiar with standard D&D 3.5, heavily homebrewn 3.5, some D&D 4, Iron Kingdoms Full Metal RPG and looked at d20-modern (which would suck for this game/sucks in general it seems) and very fleeting looked at Shadowrun (and played the PC game) and watched a bit of W40k Dark Heresy. Someone suggested the Dresden Files RPG and I might look into it. And then there is GURPS I guess. A system that can represent modern combat is obviously a given. What I'm generally looking for is something where everyone is pretty much just a "normal guy", no classes or stuff like that. Of course, some kind of customisation and some sort of "skills/abilities/feats", but in general everyone is just some random guy. Of course there won't be any 'magic' either and I would have no issue ripping magic from the game if the system has it, but I could use it as basis for "weird psychic/radioctive" shit from the environment. I call it "rogue-like" since combat would be very brutal, death would be lurking around every corner, if the players are not working together and planning their approach, they will most likely die. However, since there wouldn't be any character creation (except something like "pick a favourite weapon" or extra skill like better sneaking or whatever), rolling up a new character would be a very fast/easy thing to do, and if the party comes across their corpses, they might be able to salvage some of their equipment. I call it "sandbox" because there wouldn't be a direct goal. There wouldn't be any epic quests or shit like that. It's all about getting as much money as possible and dying the least; and of course pain and suffering and fun.
Real talk: what the hell is... 128 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Real talk: what the hell is "leather armor"? I looked and looked and could not actually find any evidence that such armor existed in the real world. You can make a suit of scale armor or lamellar with boiled leather, but that hardly matches the traditional visuals espoused by roleplaying games, nor the idea that leather armor is "light". Scale and lamellar armor are generally as heavy as mail.
>Through the garbled vox... 6 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
>Through the garbled vox broadcasts spewed forth from the insane, the Grey Knights had detected a whisper-thin signal reciting hymns to the God-Emperor. In the ruined shell of a once-grand Imperial cathedral, an Adepta Sororitas preceptory fought on. The Order of the Vermilion Hand held the insane and daemonic at bay, laud hailers blaring the word of the Emperor at the foe. >Canoness Lunaria and her sisters had endured for days against the plague of madness. The Sororitas’ faith had been the only thing keeping the madness from infecting the preceptory, as the vectors for the daemonic infection were lies and doubt. Even so, from close to a thousand Sisters fewer than two hundred now remained, and many were reduced to using their boltguns as bludgeons to preserve ammunition whilst holding back assaults from the infected populace. When Kaldor Draigo appeared with a hundred Grey Knights at his back in a blaze of golden light, Lunaria thanked the Emperor for their deliverance. In moments, the silver giants had cleared the walls of the cathedral, pushing the Daemon-things back into the shadow-haunted ruins. When the final crack of bolter fire died away Kaldor Draigo came to stand before the Canoness, saluting her with the Titansword in honour of her sisters’ valour. Lunaria took off her dented helm and looked up at the Supreme Grand Master, wiping sweat-slick hair from her face. Both battle-brothers and sisters watched as the two exchanged quiet words, until Lunaria silently replaced her helm before ordering the Adepta Sororitas to prepare to advance into the ruins. Accepting that this would be their death, every Battle Sister uttered a prayer and formed up around their Canoness.

Tell me why The Horus Heresy isn't the coolest thing that's ever happened to Warhammer.

I'm gonna run a one-off crime game like pic related, where the players have to rob a bank. I'm gonna give every player a secret objective. I've got a couple but I could use more. So far I've got: -Undercover cop -Kill another player -Get out with all or most money Also what system should I use? I want something light, and kinda cinematic. I was thinking Savage worlds?

Drawthread: Quests In General Edition

Drawthread: Quests In General... 394 posts and 112 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hello everyone! I'm going to run a drawthread if nobody minds. It's been a while since I did this so please bear in mind that I may take some time getting to everyone's requests. Let's start off with a few guidelines: I usually draw cute things, but serious stuff isn't too out of left field for me. Just don't ask me to draw something super-detailed! Also, as the subject suggests, requests related to quests on /tg/ takes priority. All quests, not just the one I run! With that said, I'm going to do every request in chronological order. Apologies in advance if I skip over yours, but I'll do my best to do everyone's! Thank you and have a nice day!

Which Elves are the bigger assholes Noldor or Thalmor. When the Ñoldor leave Valinor they end up in Tamriel not Middle-earth Fëanor his sons and there ships land on the west cost of the Summerset Isles. Fingolfin and his people show up on the north shore of Skyrim.
