Hey, /trv/, I'm not even sure if this is the right board to ask, but, what's the name of a type of suburb like this? Is this even a suburb? I want to live in a place like this if/when I get a well paying job. Only issue is, i don't know where I could find one outside of florida, but hell, even ones in florida are welcome. Just the idea of having my backyard go into a river is awesome. But, specific names and locations would be awesome, if you guys would be kind enough to give a bit of information. Thanks!

Any Muslims on this board? anyone with knowledge of Mecca? I really want to travel to Mecca, despite not being Muslim. I understand this means I will have to fake my faith, but that's fine. I will need to get a certificate testifying I am Muslim from a local Islamic center. also, I don't want to be beheaded for Apostasy.

So I haven't posted on this board for well over a year, which is a shame. But now I am planning a trip to walk the El Camino de Santiago. My parent decided they wanted to walk it, so I decided fuck it why not? Has anyone here ever walked it? Any tips? Should I try and become fluent in Spanish before I go? Do I need to pack meticulously? I've only done a little research.

Malaysia by motorcycle

Malaysia by motorcycle 3 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
OK, so in a few days I will be riding down from Northern Thailand to Malaysia and tour around the peninsula for 10-12 days. I will cross over from Hat Yai, but will have to skip Langkawi because getting a bike on the island is a pain in the ass. So I was thinking of Georgetown and Penang for my first stop, onward to KL and the Genting Highlands, and maybe crossing over to Singapore for the bragging rights of riding down there.Busy reading ride reports from different sites and looking at tour itineraries to get a better idea of how to spend my time. What I would like to know is if you went there, what were some awesome places you stayed at, ate at, or visited. I would like to keep this cheaper, so I am looking at hostels. 1 because they are cheap and 2 for the social aspect. I am going to be riding 6000+km solo so I wouldn't mind meeting some people and hanging out. Thanks for your help /trv

On april 8th I am travelling via eurostar to Paris where I will stay for 2 days before going to Sweden, one way. Travel partner bailed on me last minute - anyone else spontaneous enough (but still sane and hygenic) to tag along? 22 M UK I'm aware the odds are small but hey, worth a shot right?

Hey /trv/ I want to plan a trip overseas and it's my first time leaving the country alone. I'm Australian and I want to travel to Vladivostok in December this year. I wanna to take it all in making my way to Pripyat to finish up and head home. I'm 19 and I have $8,000 saved up. How do you suppose I plan for this trip? I got no time limit to come home and I don't want to just end up returning like 2 weeks later, more like 3-4 months? Do I need a visa before I arrive or what? If so how long is the wait? Should I get travel insurance? What are the hospitals like, do you have to pay cash before treatment like some countrys? Any specific place I should travel to? I was thinking some of the mountain areas, ww2 sites, ect

I have a month off after I graduate this June, and I am thinking about taking a trip out of the US to make the most of it. I would like to go to Japan, North Korea, and South Korea; but I don't know any Korean, and only a little Japanese. If I really wanted to go to there, I could easily find information about travel anywhere (except for North Korea; I know nothing about how to get there). I feel limited by the languages I can speak (English, some Spanish, and some Japanese), so I'm not sure where I should go. I've heard Singapore is interesting, and most people there speak English. Should I really be worried about knowing the language of the country I'm visiting, or are there usually ways around it? Are there any countries that are more "accepting" of foreigners that don't know the language? Also, since I have a month off, I was thinking about traveling to multiple countries. What should I expect to spend to travel in and out of multiple (maybe three) countries?

California Thread I'm considering to move to California from Norway. I've only been there once for a few weeks on a vacation, but I fucking loved everything about the place. However, I need more info than just my 3 week trip to make an informed decision. What are the pros and cons of long-term living in California?

Alright, I'll be in Chile for about two weeks in ay . Any suggestions what to do? My original plan was Peru, but I couldn't find a decent flight. Is there any connection to Cusco? Also - I booked myself a double room. What's the best place to find someone to share with?

Let's say I have unlimited money resources. I want to circumnavigate the globe from my home in New York City visiting the following countries: Canada, Iceland, Ireland, UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Jordan, India, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji (I would have really loved to include Japan and the Philippines but it doesn't follow a linear path). Then fly back to the west coast of the USA and travel back across the country home. Despite having unlimited money I want to travel as cheaply as I possibly can. However I also want to enjoy myself and experience the country and its culture to a certain degree. Is this impossible? If not, how much money would I need and how long would it take? Which countries could I slash to make it significantly cheaper? I would only fly when absolutely necessary.
