What are the best cheap destinations to go to in March, I have the same question for April. I would really like to explore Peru, but I hear that March-April is the wet season and you shouldn't go.

Hi greek and others /trv/ ! I'm going to hitchhike from Germany to Greece this summer. The route is already planned and now I'm wondering which cities I should visit while I'm in Greece. I've been thinking about Ioannina, Athina and Glifada so far and I'd like to visit an island, no idea about which. And on the way to visit Thessaloniki I would like to a city where I can see the Mt Olympus: what would be my best bet? Thanks for the answers!

So I've just come back from 6 months traveling in Europe, and I'm already planning my next trip. I'm deciding between North America or Asia, but I think I might go for NA. Could anyone recommend nice places in USA/Canada? I like nature and shit.

Hey guys, I'm leaving for a long trip at the beginning of May. I'll start off in Iceland, stay for a couple of weeks, and then depart to Edinburgh, move down to London, and take my final booked flight to Lisbon. After that, I'm not sure where to go and would appreciate a bit of feedback from travelers who have experienced the region before. Since I'm American, I can only spend three months out of six in the Schengen Zone, and am considering crossing down to Morocco for a little while before returning. I've friends in France and Germany I'll definitely wind up visiting, but am down to go wherever else. What are you favorite destinations in the area? What do you think is overrated and which places don't get enough attention? I'm going to be hitchhiking more than I did on my last trip, too, and was wondering if anybody could give me a recommendation on a fairly cheap, lightweight, and extremely compact one-man tent. I've been looking around by myself for a while and have yet to find anything that suits my needs, considering that I'm trying to keep all my stuff confined to my regular school backpack. Has anybody ever slept in a bivy sack before? How bad is it? A couple other things I'm very curious about are the general attitudes of people in Eastern Europe and Ukraine. One of my best friends is Russian but ethnically Turkish, having grown up near Sochi and Novorossisyk. Since his skin is darker than your average white person, he ran into a lot of discrimination in the Crimea and cities such as Kiev, occasionally being called a "nigger" and refused service in restaurants. Although I'm sure his background played into his treatment, he made it sound as if simply being American will give folks a reason to try starting a fight. I've been to a few countries in the Middle East and never had the problems people told me I'd have in certain regions. However, I am a bit hesitant about Ukraine, as it seems xenophobia is big problem there and in Russia. Pic not related.

hey, /trv/. I am currently in Buenos Aires, at the start of a 5-month study abroad program. This coming weekend, from the 1st to the 4th of march, I'm free (no orientation stuff, and classes dont start till later). 1: Any argentinos de /trv/ have any suggestions of cool/unique/relatively cheap things to go see during this break? maybe an overnight trip to somewhere relatively close to BA? I had planned to go to Patagonia and maybe Jujuy later, but those are both too long of trips for a 3-day weekend. Any thoughts? 2: anyone in BA or near interested in joining me on this short trip? I'd be super into hanging out with someone from Argentina, I'm trying to avoid spending all my time with the other exchange students. if you have any interest at all hit up this thread, I'd love to make something happen!

learning massage in southeastern asia

learning massage in... 5 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Ahoy /trv/ ! So I want to learn massage in order to have a skill I could use to make a little money back home but also want to travel (otherwise I could take lessons in my country). I plan to travel to Myanmar while I am over there. Now, I heard a tale of a girl who homestayed with a old woman who did massage for a living, learning massage and assisting the granny in her daily life, therefore experiencing the local life not from the tourist side Well this would be my ideal if possible (I wont care if it's not an old woman), living among the locals as I learn my stuff. I've already made some searches (pointing mainly to massage schools for "tourists" in Thailand) but would grant more importance to your /travelers opinions About me a little : 27, male, poor travel experience (none alone, always kinda tourist way), speaks english and french budget (450€ / $650 per month) TL;DR : I want to learn massage but not at tourist school in tourist town So, locals or long time travelers, do you think the ideal I speak of is easily achievable / findable ? Which countries would you recommend ? Any website recommendations / search help ? Any suggestion / opinion at all ? Every constructive comment is welcome (haters please give arguments) Thanks in advance

Hey, i am going to travel through Sweden in the middle of June. My plan is to drive from Malmö to Karlskrona to Stockholm and then somehow to the Lofoten / Norway in the middle of June (14-18th of June). On that way, I would like to visit some Ska / Rock / Punk concerts to get in touch with the local people. Does some one have an good source for small concerts in that region? Best regards
