Sup /trv/, I am sick and fucking tired of Obama, gun control, socialism, and the fact the US economy is imploding faster than an atom bomb going critical. Drives me mental just waking up and thinking about it. I'm thinkin of throwing my shit into a dufflebag, driving my truck out somewhere rural, and just living out in the woods. How can I get off the grid in this day and age? What do I gotta worry about? Any tips? About me >be 18 >Canadian >good outdoor knowledge, camping etc

Hey guys, I will be spending 4 weeks this summer in France living with a host family and doing workaway stuff. After that I will have 2-3 weeks to do whatever I want. I would like to travel around Europe but I don't have a good idea of how much ground I can/should cover in that time. Honestly I don't even have an ideal route right now. What are your suggestions on places I should hit up? Also, what would be the best way to get around? I am trying to spend as little money as possible and I would prefer something a little bit more consistent than hitch-hiking.

Hello /trv/. I'm considering traveling for an indefinite period. I have no prior experience with traveling or foreign languages and am looking for advice, tips and any useful information that might help me out. I should be starting out with around £5000 and will mainly be remaining in Europe, although I'm not ruling out the possibility of visiting Asia or the Americas. Thanks in advance. :)

Hello /trv/ I am visiting LA at the end of March for a week with a few friends. We are from Switzerland, and none of us have previously visited. The only time I have been in America was NYC when I was a young kid. So I am wondering what are the highlight events there are to do in the city, or anywhere close by because we will rent a car. We like shopping, and nightlife, but please recommend anywhere of value to visit during the day. Any city landmarks, or must do activities. We want to go surfing, but don't have previous experience, is it difficult to rent a board and try without lessons? Many thanks.

So me and a friend of mine will be going around Germany by train this June. We'll start in Paris, and finish either in Berlin or Copenhagen. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to stop? Heidelberg and Köln are the only stops decided upon. We're mostly interested in history, architecture, food, nature. Not so interested in nightlife.

Is it true people in the UK keep to themselves and don't help people out often? In the US if my car breaks down or i'm seen with the hood up, within 5 minutes I usually have like 4 or 5 people asking me If I need help or a jump or a trip to the auto part store ETC. But a few friends of mine in the UK claim that would never happen there because people don't like talking to others.

Hello trv Normally I dont come here very often, but since me and some friends are planning a vacation to Iceland I would like some help. We found a nice place through homeaway (website). However I wanna be sure the place exists and maybe tips to avoid being scammed. The whole thing seems real, but I'm very inexperienced. If anyone from Iceland would be able to confirm the existance of the place that would be very awesome. (Cant get there with streetview) Thanks for any help you can provide!

Ok /trv/ this is my first post. I will depart to Japan on April to start my enrollment into university. ( I had been accepted to one of Japan's national university ) Once I had obtained my visa, I had to book myself a single trip airplane ticket. My university is located at Muroran, Hokkaido area. I must depart at 1st of April and the enrollment ceremony will begin at 7th of April. 1. Since I am a Malaysian, I could choose to fly by Malaysia Airlines, but unfortunately the plane could only go as far as landing in Narita airport and I had to ride Bullet train all the way to Sin Aomori and took a boat to Hokkaido main land. 2. ANA had the direct plane route straight to the nearest airport, Chitose Airport. Help me decide /trv/, which route would the most cost effective route. I don't mind the long trip.

Burnt out from socializing?

Burnt out from socializing? 12 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
'sup trv, Do you guys ever get tired of socializing. I've been traveling for a while and I decided to stay put in a city. Met a shit ton of people already but I feel like I'm burnt out from socializing. The small talk is getting taxing and now I've got plans with people I don't really care to see. Do you guys ever feel this way? On one hand I know that I could always just keep to myself, but a part of me can't help but think that's a terrible idea for someone choosing to live in a new city especially since I've been lucky enough to have all these social opportunities/never really had a hard time making friends. Tl:Dr am I being a little bitch or does this come with traveling for extended periods of time? It's only my second long trip so I can't say that I'm an experienced traveler.

So /trv/, I enjoy travelling but don't have many friends who want to travel or have the funds, so usually i'm doing alone. It's amazing travelling alone, i'm sure you all know, but sometimes it gets lonely, especially since I don't drink and i'm not looking for casual sex. I'm looking to meet people, establish relationships and friendships and enjoy integrating mahself into the culture. What are some tips on how to travel alone and meet people without getting smashed and injected heroine into your eyeballs in order to fit in with the crowd?

So, I'm in my mid 20s (past 25) and work a full time job in finance. Just got out of college recently too. However, I have never been out of the country. I couldn't afford study abroad. I have no idea how to go long term traveling now that I work. I worry I missed my chance to travel. I want to go out of country for 6 months to a year while I'm still in my 20s. But, I don't have the money. To do it, I would have to lose my job. My job has health insurance to pay for medications (the USA doesn't have universal healtcare). I can't join the military because I DQ. I just don't know what to do. I want to travel, but feel lost on how the hell to do it in my situation. What does someone do in my situation?

Hi, /trv/ I know you're not my personal army, but I come asking for help. I have the opportunity to win 2 months in Tobago, plus $30k at the end of the trip. What can you guys tell me about Tobago? What is it like? What did you guys do there? Also, if you guys could watch and share my video, you might help a fellow traveler explore the world! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-V5jncXHFY&list=FLuEpRoY3Z_oG0JFbkmIj-vQ&index=3
