I'm going to Europe in a few days and I'm looking at the Eurail details trying to plan some of the transportation and it seems as though no trains listed are for the companies that participate in the rail passes. any insight or help would be appreciated.

I would love to travel, but i'm afraid my physical condition would cause me problems (on the plane, in hostels, in public transportation etc..). Is there any travelers out there having the same problem ? Any stories or tips you want to share ?

A couple years ago me and some friends stayed at a campsite in Pismo. We met this 50 something year old lady named Cheri that made biblical puzzles or something like that. She gave us this business card. Has anyone else met this lady?

So I'm a forever alone who doesn't have many friends and I don't want to spend another summer at home... I was thinking that since I live in Barcelona I may go alone to do some interrail through some cities. The problem is that I am introvert/shy and I don't know if I'll have the courage or how the things could work out travelling alone. I heard people say you meet people at hostels but in any case I wouldn't mind being alone sometime and visite whatever I wanted. Someone has been in my situation? How it turned out? Any advice?

So, my boyfriend and I (from Australia) are travelling to the UK and various other places at the end of August and we're thinking about eloping and getting married in Scotland. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get married in Scotland? We're just thinking of going to a registry office and signing the papers - nothing special - and getting two randoms to be our witnesses.

I am off to NYC in August - is there anything people would recommend I do that may not be the ordinary touristy type of stuff? I will still do all of that too, I'm just looking for something different. Also, any recommendations on hotels that are from £700-950 for 6 days with great access to the city would be great.

I am impressed by all you travellers going around the world, because I have no idea how you pull that off. I am a attached to my native soil, but this soil got kinda exhausted for me. I would like to trave around, but I am really short on money. In cash I have 600 € max. When I sell some stuff I may get about 1000€. I would like to travel through northern countries like Scandinavia and Iceland. But I am playing with the thought to move away from my home country (germany) and live in another country, like scandinavia or maybe even Alaska, because the combination of MURICA and a cold, empty land gives me good feelings and there isn't anything I would leave behind that is worth staying here. (My mom, our house and one good friend) I guess I ask you for travel advice and what would be necessary to move and live in another country.

I'd like to do some traveling this summer, but I don't want to go alone. Do you guys have traveling buddies? If so, how do you acquire them?

hi /trv/ I am planning a trip to Western Europe with my friends and we are trying to decide whether to go to six countries for 5 days each, or 8 countries for 4 days each, I was just think that five days will be too much, we wouldn't be doing anything touristy, just exploring the cities and finding out from local what good places to go are. so what do you guys think?

Yo /trv/, I need help I'm moving up to Seattle from LA in two weeks. I don't have the money to afford a hitch/trailer, but I have to transport a futon. What's the most cost-effective course of action? At this point, I'm seriously considering just buying a new futon when I get up there.

Hey /trv/, I'm going backpacking around central and northern Europe for a month and a half. This is my first time traveling with only a backpack, what are some essentials I should pack? Any advice for a first time backpacker? I've searched around and I'll list some basics I've picked up. I'd love to hear what some seasoned travelers have to say. -don't bring jeans, they're heavy and take a while to dry -in general, synthetics are preferable to wear as they're lighter, durable, and dry quickly. -carry a lightweight jacket or sweater -bring gallon sized plastic bags for storing food, dirty clothes, and anything that needs cleaning. I see a lot of sites that swear by money belts, but it seems to me that they're so popular that any thief worth his salt would check for them. I'm more inclined to just keep my spare cash under the soles in my shoes, or sewn in to a jacket. Some information about the trip: Traveling with one other person. We will be staying in hostels the entire trip, and don't intend to eat out at restaurants often, if at all. We will be taking the eurorail to move around the continent. I leave in a few days, so I don't really have time to ship anything.
Melbourne, Australia.... 21 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Melbourne, Australia. I've been a tutor to foreign students for a little over a year now, occasionally students tell me how boring their stay in Melbourne has been, - Melbourne city shuts at 9:00 - There's nothing to do, most days - Everything here fun involves some sort of bar/club - Nothing opens late - The weather changes 4 times in a day and thats why internationals get sick I've lived here for most of my life but my life revolves around work/family/friends meaning most days are planned - so i don't really take notice how boring Melbourne is. Most students are from Asia like China, Vietnam, Japan etc. Does anyone feel the same as these internationals? and does anyone have any suggestions i could suggest to them perhaps to change their mind??
