So im a disabled vet. I spend a majority of my time at home. I am not able to travel alot or really leave much. I hate where Im currently living (Oklahoma). Im looking to move somewhere new. My annual income is $45,600. I have no debt. I have a house I am paying on currently but can refinance and rent it to get it out from my VA loan. I have a car and pay about $450 a month for it. The rest of my income is free. Im looking for a place where I can live next to a lake or a river. I love a water view and find it calming. Id like to have access to nature for hiking and I enjoy your basic outdoorsy activities. Id also like it to be fairly close to a social area. I dont want to live in a huge bussling busy city that takes an hour to get somewhere interesting, or take trains all over the place. But I dont mind driving 15-20 mins to get to good entertainment. An active social life... a beach, clubs, groups, social activites, ect. So just touching on this info, does a location jump out at any of you? Any ideas on places I could check into living? Im 33, and not wanting to hang with retired folks, and too old to tolerate the hippie college kids in boulder or something (it was on my list to check into, homes start at $500k). Any input or advice from seasoned travelers would be most welcome, and thank you ahead of time.

In July my girlfriend goes back to school in Bangkok (I'm from the US), and since I don't really have much going on (I'm out of school and don't have a very good job), I would love to go with her. The only issue is that I need to figure out how to go for 6 months, and I have no idea how I'll be able to afford tickets ($1200 is the cheapest round trip rate i've seen). I've looked into work programs, but most require a degree and don't cover a ticket over there. Work isn't a huge concern though, because I'd have a place to live. I guess I'm just looking for advice. Like I said, I'm not really going there for vacation or anything like that, and I'm aware of what's going on in the country right now.

Me and my friends are going to visit Tallinn in the Summer. Was somebody of you already there and can give us some good advices what is worth to see? We stay two weeks, so we got a bit of time to see the area around Tallinn. We dont need to see every Church from the insinde, if you know what i mean.A bit of architecture isnt that bad, but we prefere other things like the KGB-Museum. And is Helsinki worth the trip with the ferry? Maybe we go there for a day. So can anyone of you give us some good advices what we need to see or tipps in general? Thanks.

hi /trv/ I am planning a trip to Western Europe with my friends and we are trying to decide whether to go to six countries for 5 days each, or 8 countries for 4 days each, I was just think that five days will be too much, we wouldn't be doing anything touristy, just exploring the cities and finding out from local what good places to go are. so what do you guys think?

What does /trv/ think of 4chan itself? Would you browse /trv/ or a 4chan safeboard in a hostel openly? Would you mention advice you got from "the travel board on 4chan" or meet up with someone from /trv/ and then tell others?

Yo /trv/, I need help I'm moving up to Seattle from LA in two weeks. I don't have the money to afford a hitch/trailer, but I have to transport a futon. What's the most cost-effective course of action? At this point, I'm seriously considering just buying a new futon when I get up there.

Hey /trv/, I'm going backpacking around central and northern Europe for a month and a half. This is my first time traveling with only a backpack, what are some essentials I should pack? Any advice for a first time backpacker? I've searched around and I'll list some basics I've picked up. I'd love to hear what some seasoned travelers have to say. -don't bring jeans, they're heavy and take a while to dry -in general, synthetics are preferable to wear as they're lighter, durable, and dry quickly. -carry a lightweight jacket or sweater -bring gallon sized plastic bags for storing food, dirty clothes, and anything that needs cleaning. I see a lot of sites that swear by money belts, but it seems to me that they're so popular that any thief worth his salt would check for them. I'm more inclined to just keep my spare cash under the soles in my shoes, or sewn in to a jacket. Some information about the trip: Traveling with one other person. We will be staying in hostels the entire trip, and don't intend to eat out at restaurants often, if at all. We will be taking the eurorail to move around the continent. I leave in a few days, so I don't really have time to ship anything.

/trv/ I have only been on one international flight before in my flight and it was to China from the US. I know that we have a policy where whatever airport you land in you have to get your bags and go through customs at that airport before you get on any other connecting flight you may have domestically. However I have a couple upcoming international flights with connections in a 3rd country. This being the case will I need to go get my checked luggage and then recheck it to my final destination? Here are the flights I have coming up if the countries themselves matter >IAD>ROM (connection in Moscow) >IAD>BKK (connection in Abu Dhabi) >BKK>CLT (connection in Shanghai) I am fairly green as a whole in response to international travel so I am getting paranoid to make sure I have everything covered. >dat clip art from the 90's

Sick and tired of feminism, reverse discrimination, misandry, whorish behavior, double standards, and useless western women in general. Where is good to travel/move where women are still women, men are still men? How hard is it to get laid in these places?

Recently I've been traveling a lot, my most recent stop being Hawaii. The other morning before my flight left I woke up with a headache and tried to eat but it made me feel very queasy. I've so far lost my appetite, feel like I'm bloating, and often feel nauseas. Anyone have any idea what's wrong with me?

Older Car Rentals in Europe

11 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hello T- I desperately need help. A couple months ago I searched for affordable rentals in Europe. I found a site that would rent out older vehicles, like 2008's, 2010's, and the like for much better rates than all of these new-car assholes. I called them, the seemed to be a type of broker for a bunch of smaller rental firms, and they were very friendly and answered all sorts of questions, very professional! Problem is, I went to find it today and was eye-raped by all of the paid advertisements and "meta-search" engines that just crammed the same major rental companies bullshit in my face over and over again. Does anyone have a clue what this website was?? Any help at all would be amazing! I"m getting so desperate I'd ask /b/ at this point! Pic related, one of the places I'm going.

Any advice welcome!

So I'll admit right off the bat that I'm very inexperienced travel-wise, having just become responsible for my own travel arrangements. I'll be flying from North Carolina to Chicago quite a bit in the next few years, and most likely from Chicago to Montreal as well, although infrequently. I've been using the 'cheap flight' websites but none list a price lower than the one on, say, aa.com. Do you guys have any tips on how to find the cheapest flights? Or am I already hitting the lowest possible price? Any help is much appreciated.
