Lately Ive been feeling the need to travel and see the world, I haven't done an entire lot of it in my past and I dont have any friends who are willing to come back packing at the moment, but right now I'd really like to take a month or two trip down to Europe and back pack my way through. So I was wondering if you know of any sites where I can meet people my age and around my location that I could go back packing with if it helps Im 19 and from canada

I'd like to do some traveling this summer, but I don't want to go alone. Do you guys have traveling buddies? If so, how do you acquire them?

not exactly sure if this is /trv/ related, but not sure where else to post this and wanted to see if people feel the same way.... for those of you who have lived in a "trendy" city (read: austin, portland, seattle, nyc, etc.) all your life, do you get pissed off at all the out of towners that move in? i'm so enraged at how many people are moving to the city i've lived in and loved. now traffic is at its all time worst, it's nearly impossible to get anywhere by car. and a lot of the new people who come here are just not that friendly or try really hard to be hipsters or scrub punks or w/e they're called. cost of living is going up because now everyone wants to move here. anyone else feel the same way?

Hello /trv/, first time poster here. I'm from Russia, and this year i'm missing out on going to the Sonar festival at Barcelona with my friends, so to treat mysefl instead i decided to visit Philadelphia this October and go to a Com Truise concert. If there are any anons from Philadelphia here, can you please tell me more about your city? What are the dos and don'ts, what else should i visit, are there any comfy and nice but not too expensive places to stay, your favourite bars, diners and comic book stores etc. First Time Going to Philly General, i guess, all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm tired of all these Americans going on trips to cheap foreign developing countries. Why buy expensive plane tickets when we have our own third world shithole right here? That's right, Mexico thread. I've been to Mexico before but it has always been on the back of my family. IE fenced off hotels in cancun/cabo/puertovallarta My older aquaintances tell me of the glory days of driving down unpaved Baja and hanging out in awesome shanty towns. What is there to do in Mexico now that isn't hookers in tj or getting murdered in Juarez?

hello /trv/. i have a super quick question, that's probably easy to answer, but i don't get it. i tried /int/, but everyone there is extremely pretentious and pretty much they're all sociopaths. but my question: my grandpa is from spain. both of his parents were also from spain, so they're full blooded spanish. and my grandmother, mother ans father are, i guess, white (probably from ireland, england, scotland, etc), or whatever. so what would that leave me as? 1/4 spanish?

is there any plausible way that a non-muslim might visit mecca? as a white englishman, I am assuming that simply growing a beard and pretending to be muslim wouldn't work. maybe with a bit of research?? it pisses me off that such a magnificent city forbids non-muslims from going there.

Alright guys, I'm planning on leaving everything behind and disappearing for a month or so in a couple weeks because I'm so done with people around me. But a lot of questions arrive. Just so that you know, I'm 19, I live in Spain, I have a car that I can use to sleep in (like, I can fit a mattress in there and still have space to carry my shit, even including my bike) and I can spend somewhere between two and three hundred euros in this, maybe even a little more if I get some more money selling shit I make. According to estimations, my car will drink about 70-80€ of gas to get to where I want to go (coast) and come back. So, now that you have some background, I have some questions: -I plan on taking a lot of conserve cans with me so that I can minimize the amount of money I spend in food. These are already around my house so they will not take away more euros. But I can't survive for one month on canned food, I need some other nutrients. For example, rice, pasta, and other carbs, as most canned stuff is mostly protein and fat. How would I go about making rice or other carbs without a kitchen? -As I said, it will take about 70€ euros in gas, so I have around 200 more euros to spend in everything else. I don't want to buy anything, no souvenirs, no nothing. Just food and stuff I need (water, TP, and all that basic shit). Do you think I can live for one month with just 200€? Remember I live in Spain, stuff is not THAT expensive here. -Where do I take shits and piss? -As for showering, I was thinking about showering in the showers that are in the beach. Is this a bad idea? -Also I guess I will have to wash my clothes in a washing house (?). I will post more questions as they arrive. Also I would like to know if any of you has ever done this, or something similar. And of course if you have any tips or want to share anything that you think could help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance guys.

Hey /trv/, I'm going to be studying Spanish in Granada four a month, starting in July. I'll be living in the school's accommodation with other students, in an apartment. Has anyone does this before, or do you have any advice? Regarding anything; learning, going out, the city itself, living with other students etc. Thanks!

How to get the most out of California ?

9 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Hi everyone, I'm looking forward to a 3-month trip in California from Europe, starting August. I'll try to kep it as cheap as possible by often sleeping in tent and couchsurfing in the cities. I consider taking my bike with me. Is biking a good wxay to discover California ? (I'm a fairly good biker). If I'm tired, can I take the bus between two cities with my bike ? Is there some places to see or things to do that I should not miss ? I'll arrive and leave from San Francisco. Thank you very much for any advice you would have.

Sup /trv/ Going to Paris to visit the Pokemon Center. I'll be there for a full day (7am til 8pm), what can I do for the rest of the day? I'm checking out Crémerie de Paris because that's where the Center is, but at the minute I've only got the Triffle Tower and the Lovelock Bridge in my plans. What do? Where go?
