Here's something that might be different, /vr/. Let's harken back to the days before digital cameras, where memories were captured on film and then transferred into the photo albums. Let's dig into those albums and share our photos from days past when our retro video games were the current and hottest thing. Anything relevant is welcome, be it simple pictures of your gaming set-up, or better yet photos of you, friends, siblings, etc. enjoying some games. I was digging through boxes of my older brother's crap tonight and found these. Here's the setup my brothers and I had in the basement of my childhood house. I believe I got Turtles 2 for my 6th birthday, so these first two photos were probably taken about March, 1991.

Anyone ever really get into this game? Like 100+ days? LSD is a trippy-ass game, and if you use savestates and never really save you can make it go haywire. There's a wiki I go to full of shit too: http://dreamemulator.wikia.com/wiki/LSD:_Dream_Emulator_Wiki

Can we have a NES/FC thread? Whats your favorite game? What are you playing right now? I recently picked one up after deciding I have the most fun emulating NES games, cant wait to set it up and play on original hardware

Posted this on /v/, but realized it'll only really garner discussion here. The inventory system in Earthbound can get pretty awful. I don't mind the interface, but no sort/organize function ensures that it's total chaos at all times, which is multiplied each time you get a new character. It's a nightmare to try and find something you're looking for. Carrying equipables means your fourteen slots are limited to ten, even less so if you don't store items such as the ATM card, Sound Stone, Town map or Receiver phone; add in the fact that you're constantly being handed new/important items, and you'll have barely enough room for healing items. If you do decide to make use of the Escargo Express, you have to be at a phone in order to store or retrieve items. You can only select one choice at a time, so if you have two items to store and one to retrieve, you're making two calls and waiting for the delivery guy twice. I don't mind the whole "waiting for the delivery guy" part since it's EarthBound weirdness, but it would be a lot less of a hassle if there was a side-by-side window that opened allowing for active swapping of items, or if you could store or retrieve more than 3 items at a time. It's pretty god damn tedious as it stands right now, and it's a shame, because the game is so good otherwise.

Miyamoto turned 62 today. So, to celebrate, what's your favorite old school Miyamoto masterpiece?

Anyone not like the battling in Chrono Trigger? I'm used to normal Turn-Based rpgs and the occasional action based ones. Chrono looks like a turn basd jrpg but the enemies will still attack you even when you're not doing anything. You can't just pause in a battle to think what you're doing and you get hounded constantly.

What are stupid ways you got stuck in retro games, or really obvious things you didn't realize until it was too late? When I first played Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on N64, I didn't realize that Impact had other attacks besides shooting coins/ryo. I spent hours on the first Impact boss until I finally beat him with just the coins. Imagine my frustration when I realized later that Impact had way more attacks.

What are your favourite lewd moments in otherwise non-lewd games? >hard-mode: No bikini-Samus >and no Zelda 2-slut As for me, it must be most of the sprites of Mai Shiranui. I know she's intentionally made to be a lewd character, but it was hard to avoid getting hard seeing her in motion.

PSX Change Question

Thinking about purchasing a PSX-Change disc off of Ebay...pic related. It's basically just a disc that you can use for your PS1/PsOne to play import games easily. My question is, could I just burn the PSX-Change rom onto a CD-R and it would have the same function of the original PSX-Change disc? I really don't feel like purchasing one I found on eBay for about $9. >pic related, it's the psx-change cover

Hope this is retro but i never see anyone talking about this game so whats your favorite faction and level. for me it has to be the trade federation (not needing houses is awesome and i love the fortress troops) and also that one level where all the nova is in the center is cool.

Going on peeps. I just completed Chrono Trigger for the first time and I was satisfied as fuck. Now a sense of dread has crawled upon me so answer me this, cause I am a narrow minded simpleton who must rely on others for answers and solace. Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger?

Hey /vr/, I recently snagged Conker's Bad Fur Day for 58$, but I can't game the damn thing to work. My N64 works perfectly fine, and I've tried cleaning it with some Isopropyl, but no luck. I know my N64 somewhat reads it since on boot-up it's different from having no game in it. Advice? pic related is obviously Conker's Bad Fur Day.

anyone else insist on using the original controllers, instead of lame knock-off replicas, for classic emulation? it just feels so good!
