Wario thread time! Man, I love these games. Been playing WL3 right now. It's great, but everytime anyone mentions this golf minigame they hate it. I really like it, and I find it pretty easy. Is it just me? Oh well, Wario away.

Am I the only one who seriously miss the fuck out of old-style Ultima Online? So much shit you could do to fuck with people, it was the best MMO ever.

Is there a console that can emulate MAME without issues? I tried on Wii but it simply doesn't work well, it's feels so broken.

Never heard of this console before. Anyone have one of these? If so are they worth it? I found a few for sale on Ebay but I don't want to buy until I hear someone who isn't a tubefag talk about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lpViVaMtrM

Is this a space invader? ITT: game references inside games.

Old Fighting Games

old thread >>1555518 Let's discuss and play old fighting games on ggpo/supercade/mamehub/etc. So far we've had people of all different levels, and everyone has been pretty helpful, so don't hesitate to drop in and play even if you're a beginner. Good resources for learning are the Shoryuken wiki for most games, and the mizuumi wiki for Samurai Shodown V Special and Vampire Savior. If you can't find info for your character of choice, you can always look up the game on gamefaqs. A lot of old fighting game info is written up there, especially from the late 90s and early 2000s. Should we put together a pastebin or some kind of standardized OP? Also, thanks to the guy who made this image for the thread.

Super Famicom Power

Hi /vr/ I bought a Super Famicom recently and after some inconclusive googling I figured I'd get your opinion on this: Can I plug a SFC into a Canadian/American power outlet? It seems from what I've googled that there is a ~20V difference between here and Japan yet many people seem to claim plugging it in still works fine but I worry about the health of the system. Some people also claim you can just plug in a SNES' power cable into the SFC and you'll be set, but again this sounds a bit sketchy to me - although I admit I'm not well versed in electricalisms. Do I need some kind of converter/transformer? Is a 120V to 100V down-stepping transformer what I'd need for this if I do need some sort of converter?

Most comfortable platformer, or most comfortable platformer? A lot of the spin-offs were pretty good, too. I played the shit out of Kirby's Star Stacker. Too bad the SNES version was never translated.

Early 3D racers

So, I haven't noticed any discussion of retro racing games here. Surely I'm not the only one who still plays classics like Virtua Racing, Cruisin' USA, Gran Turismo, etc. Hell, I even play Rad Racer on occasion. What are some of the classics you guys are into? I'm curious about any racing games I might have overlocked, especially anything that came before dedicated 3D consoles like Saturn or PS1. I was actually pretty amazed that the Genesis was able to pull off Virtua Racing. Granted, a bunch of choppy, texture-less polygons isn't exactly eye candy, but still.

In what area is Back to Nature better than 64? It's pretty much a synonymous thought that 64 has the better characterization but BTN has to do something better, right? Music, graphics, movements, whatever.

>Find my old atari plug 'n play last night >Decide to play some Adventure >difficulty 1 is too piss easy >Set it to 3 >Find the yellow key in the dark maze to the south >Oh shit there's a dragon in the castle >Lose it in the blue maze >lol forgot the black key >Go back and have to lose the dragon again >Enter dark maze in the castle >Oh shit another dragon >Screen change and run into dead end >Go back a screen and just barely dodge running right into the dragon's mouth >Out of fucking nowhere the chalice comes flying across the screen >The fucking bat had the chalice >It made a beeline straight for my character as I was dodging the dragon >I'm holding the bat that's holding the chalice >Run back to yellow castle >Easiest difficulty 3 clear I've had ITT: Those times in games where the enemies actually ended up helping you. Also maybe talk about Adventure if you want.

Have you ever played a game that you thought was too old, had too archaic or unforgiving mechanics, that you just never thought you could enjoy it? And then one day, it just clicked with you, and you "got" it? For me, that game is the original Darius. I finally realized that unlike a lot of modern scrolling shooters, it is truly a game about shooting: about aiming your attacks precisely. And it is so rewarding once you get good at this. It's not nearly as difficult a game as it seems on the surface.

Are the Wizardry console ports equal to their PC counterparts? I was thinking of playing first the fifth and sixth installments on the SNES.
