>Classical Castlevania gameplay >Beautiful graphics with lots of eye candy >Awesome music Why does this game gets so little recognition? Because it's "just a remake"?

Romancing SaGa 3

I've tried to get into this game several times only to give up shortly after every time. i found it aesthetically appealing but for some reason the battle system and random tech learning turned me off. well, i tried it once more, actually giving it a real chance, and am surprised how hooked i am to it now. the freedom to do "quests" or build your character in any way is pretty awesome in my opinion. any other saga fans on /vr/ with tips or stories? SaGa general

Yo /vr/, I've played a few Ace Combat games lately including the AC2 remake on 3DS and I was wondering if it was still worth going back to the PS1 games. I ask because it seems as though AC3 had significant cuts during localisation and as I've already played AC2 that only leaves the very first game in the series. Additionally I was wondering if anyone knew of similar games, not necessarily for the PS1. I also enjoyed Starfox 64 if that helps Thanks!

So, anons, what would you say is your favorite Super Metroid moment?

Were there any areas in retro videogames that were beautiful to you despite limited graphics or that were just relatively ordinary but struck you in a weird way? I doubt this thread will be very popular so why not make this for talking about the most beautiful parts of retro games in general? Pic entirely related.

Why does /vr/ hate the N64?

>tfw a worthy contender for HoMM III that went criminally overlooked outside of slavshitlandia Has anyone at all played this? Such a beautiful game. The music and art direction were freaking stunning; the stylish, grotesque character art is in my opinion one of greatest in videogaming. In my humble opinion, the game every bit holds up to HoMM.

So here's the deal, /vr/. I'm a huge fan of the games that came out on Playstation--Einhander, Bushido Blade, Crash Bandicoot, Legend of Legaia, Final Fantasy, Xenogears, you name it. That said, I feel like those sorts of games dwindled by the end of the PS2's run. I'd really like to find any gems I might have missed out on, though. I really like RPGs, but nothing I've played recently captures the sort of simplicity and wonder that PS-era Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, etc. does. What do you guys recommend? I really loved Saga Frontier. It bums me out that there aren't many other games that involve building a team from ~30 characters, healing after every fight, neat combat mechanics, and that much worldbuilding. I tried Radiata Stories, SaGa Frontier 2, and Suikoden. It just didn't work out for me.

Collecting

Is it okay to stop collecting? I started collecting only Nintendo, but now I collect sega and ps too. First goal was to only get 10 great games for each machine. Now I have it but I still have the urge to keep collecting. I started collecting castlevania games and contra games and the list goes on. I'm considering getting 10 controllers only for playing saturn bomberman(I got 5 so far). Even though the urge is still there, I often go into periods thinking "why do I keep collecting this shit. I will never Finish half of these games so what's the point? I only play the multiplayer games when buds be over, and that's only 15+ games. What about the 300 other games?" Please share me your views anons.

First of all, Pyra is one sassy elf mage who I'd totally explore her labyrinth. Second of all, anyone like this game? Been playing it for the first time and it does have a fuckton of grinding.

I know it's a longshot, but is anyone here old enough to have played MUDs? I know they're practically irrelevant in this day and age, but I can't imagine there aren't at least handful of them with solid playerbases.

Nintendo or Sega?

Sega Saturn

I recently got my hands on a Sega Saturn. Good price, too. Sadly the place I got it from have an outright laughable Library of games for the system. So I ask you, fabulous folk of /vr/, what games should I get? Besides that of the few Sonics, NiGHTS, Clockwork Knight, and Fighting Vipers.

State of the PSIO project

Anyone heard anything about the PSIO project? I didn't hear about donors getting their prototypes or anything. Has the project died? For those who don't know about PSIO (ripped from their website): "PSIO is a cartridge that plug's into the back of your PlayStation 1 console, which will let you play your backed up PlayStation 1 games from an SD card. It will also allow you to boot and run code you have programmed from an SD card on the actual PlayStation 1 console itself, making it a must have tool for homebrewers, developers and most importantly, gamers."
