How did you prefer your RPG parties? Do you prefer one-man adventures? RPGs where the entire party is always together and even fights at once? Or RPGs where you get to select a few members that come with you while the rest remains? If you prefer parties, what do you think is a good size?

Hey guys! Could you sing this petition for us? We want this game back so bad, and now we got the chance on Steam Greenlight! https://www.change.org/petitions/indiepub-release-starsky-hutch-on-steam-greenlight

I know your retro consoles look better on crt tv, but what if I had to connect my composite through an rca to rf adapter Would it still look better than trying to run it on an LCD tv? It's probably a stupid question, but I was just curious

What went wrong?

Itt absolutely essential games you have to beat in order to be a true retro gamer. Pic very much related. If you haven't beaten the original SMB you have no place on this board.

Hey /vr/ I just got my old Macintosh G3 up and running and need some games to play. Any suggestions? All I could think of for now is the Exile games.

How does /vr/ feel about reproduction carts? Have you ever bought or made any of your own? Also how do you feel about people who destroy existing NES games to make a repro?

Welcome to the Retro Game Gauntlet, gentlemen. Start at NES, and work through in the following order: NES SNES GB/GBC Megadrive/Genesis Turbografx16 DOS NeoGeo GBA Commodore 64 Playstation 1 You have three days to complete the game without assistance (each game gets three days, though RPGs are allowed a week due to length). Select your system here: http://s3kr.it/gauntlet.html You can also do it manually if you don't trust the random number generator: http://s3kr.it/systems/ Rules: 1) Savestates are allowed ONLY for the purpose of taking screenshots and ONLY if your emulator/game in question does not have a pause function. 2) Rerolls are allowed under the following conditions: -The game you get requires some sort of hardware functionality that cannot be accurately emulated to complete (eg, Boktai) -The game would otherwise require cheats, hacks, or alteration of the software to complete due to a bug (eg, Cheetahmen II) For games that have a high score or no end, the rule is >if no high score has been established, set a goal and beat it >if you.re playing something another anon already has a high score on, beat their high score >if you are playing extended rpgs/pokemon/whatever you get a week (Depending on the game: needs to be asked in thread) AND BRING ME SCREENSHOTS PARKER IRC channel: #gauntlet on irc.rizon.net (Mibbit link on site) NEW RULES/GUIDELINES TO POSTING IN THE GAUNTLET THREADS: -Do not post screenshots every other screen, make them few and meaningful -Do not start a new thread before current one bump limit is exceeded

Alright /vr/, I found an old NES controller, SNES controller, and Genesis controller in my attic, so I bought adapters to hook them up to my computer and they actually work. So now I'm planning to play through all the generations since I missed most of them. So my question is, what are some good old games? Basically anything before 3D. I want to play everything.

I just finish Final Fantasy VIII and the last time I played it was when I was around 9 years old when it came out. What did you all think of the ending and what it meant? I'm not too fond of the "squall is dead; its a dream" theory. And general ff8 thread

Fuck, this is an amazing game. Just beat it. Absorbed The Transcendent One and revived my party minus Ignus because I had to put him down.

Hey /vr/, know about any good old games about water manipulation? Freezing, redirecting, pipes, swimming... platformers, puzzles, puzzle platformers, you know. I don't know why, but the whole aesthetic of water, machinery and pipes and shit feels super comfy to me.
