Would buying a PAL SNES that can switch between 50 and 60Hz be the same as buying an American SNES? As long as I use American/Japanese roms (with a flashcart), and a TV that supports NTSC it should be no different right?

Hey guys, can you recommend me some YouTube channels (or other websites with video content) that are similar to AVGN? Just so you understand, I don't particularly want his brand of toilet humor and the pointless fighting scenes. I just want people showing their posters, their collection of video games and magazines, talking about them, their experiences as kids, reviews and things like that. But they shouldn't focus on doing LPs though, I really don't have time for that. Basically more video stuff dedicated to retro gaming.

Is this game a massive grinding engine because holy fucking hell, every time I begin to become involved in the story it slows down because you need shit tons of nuyen to do ANYTHING. Trying to do the missions in Penumbra District but everything has me calling a fucking taxi to get halfway across the world which wastes profits and it starts to make more sense to just do the fetch missions in the starting district.

So why hasn't there been a TIE Fighter MMO or at least a reboot?

What does /vr/ think of the star ocean games? Personally one of my favorite series of all times. It's a perfect blend of Sci-fi and Fantasy.

I've had my Yamaha RX-V373 AV Receiver for about a year, but I've only been using it with my Record Player. I've been wanting to run some of my consoles through it, but I don't have the cables I need yet. Does anyone here have something like this included in their setup? How do you like it? I'm looking forward to hearing Castlevania 4 through it.

Let us convene and discuss the proverbial "retro bubble", /vr/others. We see it referenced all the time in offhand comments in many threads, but I've never seen us sit down and actually discuss what we think caused it's rise and when/what will cause it to burst. How has it affected you individually? How do you cope with the rising prices? Do you think prices will actually ever go back down?

Hey /vr/ I've had my Wii U for over a year now with all my Wii data transferred onto it, so now my Wii from 2006 is in it's box and it's not used. I'm thinking to mod it so I can run emulators on it and what not. Does anyone have useful guides on how to mod the Wii? I'm a Mac user by the way I know you guys can help me out, also which are the best emulators? Any good running MAME so I can run CPS2 games? Cheers

How do you feel about artificial labeling? From printing new stickers for carts with damaged labels; to printing inserts for generic jewel cases when you only have the disc; to adding top-labels to carts that lack them; or even printing out custom labels. Do you do any of these? What's acceptable and what's not?
