I've been tempted by this. It's from the halcyon days of Square before the merger and features M-rated content which appeals to me since it's territory they seem to shy away from these days. I'm a little cautious as it tries to sell itself as cinematic, but considering the graphical prowess of the era I doubt the words warrant as much concern as they do from a modern title that evokes the same phraseology. However, I understand that the game was never released in the UK and Europe. Being the technologically naive person that I am, I don't know if I could just import a copy from the US via ebay and got to town or if there's region coding issues to take into account. Would I require a specially chipped console to play it on?

Anyone like using LSDJ or emulating on their gameboy? If so, what flash cart do you use?

Any Rance fans here? III and IV are pretty fun retro rpgs though the battle system in III isn't great. I'm really looking forward to Kichikuou

I've been seeing a lot of these Android based game devices lately and was wondering if they're any good for emulation/retro gaming. I mean, most of them seems like a gamepad with a screen slapped on at best and the one that i tried out felt like a cheap toy (it was an Archos I think).

Are there any games you played even if you sucked at it simply because you liked the art style from the promo images? Pic pretty related for me. I think I played fighting games just to see Edayan's work in them.

Hi /vr/. I'm a brazilianfag and on my teens here on huenistan we had the mighty Playstation! with uber rampant piracy AND the incredible Action Replay! for the original model that goes in the back of it (pic related and all that). It had a really ghetto interface with even "ghettoer" options, one of them was access to the games files, and you could press a button so the device "decrypt" them or something and it actually played the FMVS and music of the games! At the time with the piracy and the games costing less then a "gibão mordido" (a really cheap traditional candy) i got my hands on a FUCKTON of japanese games, and even when i couldn't play then i just wasted hours and hours watching crazy FMVS and listen to crazier music. One game in particular that i REALLY liked the music was the fighting game from Konami Lighting Legend and this one is my favorite of then: http://youtu.be/wkwf65-rOTA So /vr/ anyone have any kind of strange "nationalist" experiences like that? PS.: I also love the animation on the magics from that Bastard!! first person RPG...

Retro console/game boxes

How important is getting the box along with your retro purchase? I don't exclusively look for items that come with the box, honestly. It's far less important to me to find a console with the box than a game unless it's a console that is known for being somewhat fragile. CD based games are really the only games that I worry about the case too much. I've had the Sega Saturn and Neo Geo Pocket Color boxes since I was a kid, but I acquired the 7800 and Neo Geo CD within the last year. I never kept the boxes for my Dreamcast, N64, Genesis, or SNES, and now that I'm older I wish I had. I've kept the box for my Xbox One so that I won't look back one day and wish I had it. tl;dr How important is getting the box to you?

In your opinion, does Ocarina of Time still hold up to this day? Has anyone here played it for the first time recently? If so, please tell me your thoughts. I feel I'm a bit biased since I remember back when the game was brand new and I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time - I played it multiple times over those 16 years, and while I still can go back to it and enjoy it, I understand my vision might be a bit clouded by nostalgia.

so i got one of these, and it's just sitting around, not getting played or anything, so i was wondering, what could i do with this thing? i've heard about people gutting em and turning them into computers is there a way to turn this into an emulation station? what if i took a raspberry pi or an android computer and shoved that shit in there, would that let me turn it into an emulation station? give me any ideas, even if your just spitballing

Post some N64 racing games you enjoyed that aren't SMK and DKR. Pic related was my personal favourite.

My Atari 2600 carts aren't in a bad conditions, but I have a bit of issue with their labels. Some are generic labels that just say VIDEO GAMES, others are a bit rotted, some are even falling off ever. I looked online for labels to print and replace, but turns out the scans I find weren't in mint condition. Is it worth replacing the labels on Atari 2600 Carts? If so, where can I find good printable reproductions?
