Vague games of the past

Can anyone help me figure out what game I was playing on the School computer when I was 7? It was a vaguely adventure-based game, set in the amazon or somewhere similar. there were levels which required you to race speedboats, a cinematic where a cabin got blown up and a mini-game where you built a juice machine and made it work by connecting circuits in different combinations. That's literally all I remember. It was for Windows 95, or possibly earlier. Hate to request, but I've seen similar threads where folks helped each other out and thought I'd try. Also, general games which escape precise description thread, I guess?

So I keep hearing these arguments that a console or video game are good because it sold a lot of units and the ones that didn't aren't, but I don't think that's a very good argument, things that didn't sell very well can still be good, maybe it didn't sell well because of bad advertising, it was expensive, it wasn't available locally, it was a limited release, etc. What I'm trying to say is that games should be judged by what they are, not by how many units they sold.

Im looking for an old fps, I believed it was released as freeware, the graphic were really bad, I remember when you walk any direction you could hear your footsteps, I had a interface where they show you whole body and you health, also you could jump, and the story was that your plane crashed in island, anybody knows? pic not quite related

About to play this for the first time. What am I in for? Will it ruin my experience to look up some degree of information?

Majora's Mask - Swimming Race

I am having a really hard time trying to complete the race within 2 min. and I am looking for advice. Every single time I manage to get to the very last ring as the time runs out, yet in every video I have seen the race is completed with ~30 sec. to spare. I just don't understand how this is possible as I am already cutting every corner as short as possible. Is there some kind of trick to doing this race?

ALRIGHT NIGGERS ITS TIME FOR ANDROID EMULATORS THREAD Post the best/your fave android emulators for each system and explain why they kick ass. MINE >All of Robert Broglia's emus (nes.emu, md.emu, msx.emu, etc) are ports of PC emus and are all topnotch, but he is a greedy jew and wants you to pay. Someone on the Play Store called V Android has released free versions of all of Broglia's emulators, they have the exact same names but with "Free" on the end. So I use V Android's free versions of Broglia's shit for most of the systems. >Broglia's Snes9x Ex+ is free so just use that. >My Boy! costs money but is best so just find a free version posted online somewhere. >PPSSPP is the PSP emu of choice. >mupen64plus ae is the n64 emu of choice. >ePSXe costs money so just find a free download online. >DraStic DS costs money and I haven't found a free download that works so I just bought it, it is by far the best DS emu on PC or Android. >Any other obscure emus (virtual boy, turbo grafx, etc) are included in Retroarch, and Retroarch is free and has ps1 and gba if you dont want to have to find ePSXe and My Boy! apks for free online. The only emu I couldn't get for free was DS. That DraStic guy made his emu hard as fuck to crack I guess. >pic related, Moga Pro Power controller is by far the best android controller.

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/vgm/4602828828.html What would /vr/ pay for this collection? I don't collect for NES but was considering offering the guy money. But I don't want to insult him. Hell, maybe I'm lucky and the guy comes on this site.

I'm making a video game with 3 other anons. It's reminiscent of old games such as Illusion of Gaia and Link to the Past. I figured /vr/ would be more interested than /v/, since /v/ doesn't really like indie devs, or retro-style games. Anyone wanna check it out?

Old-school adventure games, and a question about one of them

29 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
Lets share some memories of our favorite old-school adventure titles. One I've been thinking about like crazy is Robot City, based off Asimov's works. I've been trying to find a download for it but as far as I know there is none, the only way to get it is through buying a physical copy, which eats considering the lack of assurance that it works. Do anyone /vr/troopers know of a possible dump of it? I loved playing it, but at the time it was new I was a piss-ant kid who wasn't paying as much attention as I should have, never completed it, loved the simplicity and atmosphere it had.

Will we ever get to discuss 6th generation vidya on here? It's officially two generations ago instead of one, and /v/ is too underaged and angry about tumblr to really be a viable place to discuss anything but the absolute top-played generation 6 games.

Does anyone know the site that has a list of different plugin configurations on per game basis for Project64? I am trying to emulate Gauntlet Legends and I am having no such luck. I tried googlging it but my google-fu is failing me. Any help is much appreciated .

>Start mission >Lucky attacks against almost every enemy >B-line it straight to objective >finish mission with no casualties >SILVER MEDAL >3 missions later >Take my time letting enemies surrender so I get their gear >Use whole turn to take out single enemies >Casualties >PLATINUM MEDAL Difficulty curve and bullshit general
