I had a dream where I was walking in the woods in my backyard, following this strange grassy trail that usually isn't there. I followed it and after following the meandering path suddenly the dream changed from realistic to gbc dragon warrior 3 ish graphics. Here's some details about the game I typed up as soon as I woke up, the dream is getting a little foggy now. rpg where if you die, you have to fight your way out of the spirit world and it looks like a giant spooky rocky graveyard there? the place reminded me of zelda 1 graveyard a little. Lots of grey in the color palate, dead trees. there was this one church surrounded by monsters, and you go in and a priest tells you of nice treasures in three chests you can take, what he doesn't tell you is that if you go into the back room and open the chest there a dragon will be summoned and it will chase you out of the church door, even t hough it's huge, like a 6x2 square. My character was holding a giant boulder that he found in the chest, and it must've been buried with him or his spirit was still holding onto it because I still had it in the spirit world. I threw it on this bit of ground that looked like it was rubble, and it became a hole, the shift in pressure must have been the reason some other holes opened up. The Dragon was still after me, as well as some odd spirit world monsters, so I jumped in the hole, another one spat me out, I repeated this process for a while until one of the holes let me escape from the spirit world.

1, 2, or Jet. Doesn't matter. The boards on Aces for 360 are dead. Submit screenshots from MAME or scores from the Aces collection, doesn't matter. Be sure to play on Arcade difficulty if you're playing Aces.

What does /vr/ think of Plok for the SNES? The game's history is fascinating. It could have belonged to Rare, could have belonged to Nintendo, could have been an arcade game with Saturn-level graphics in 1989, had one of the best soundtracks on the SNES, got no sequel or re-release in an era where Putty Squad got a remake and Bubsy got a trilogy, and currently contents itself with a vaporware fan sequel and a webcomic where every page looks like a Loss edit.

Did anyone else play Graal, the MMO version of 16-bit Zelda? Did you make upload your own custom head? Did you build your own house or maps?

Holy crap Ocarina of Time is actually a lot of fun

Non-/vr/ here (Do you guys have a nickname?), just wanted to say that I've been playing Ocarina of Time. I always assumed people nostalgia goggle'd it. It's actually really a lot of fun. Navi isn't nearly as bad as she's made out to be. Wind Waker is still better, but this is a blast. That is all.

Good multiplayer games

Hey everyone! I recently found out my brother in law is into retro and we been hanging out a few times. He doesn't collect, so we rely on games I have. He's a bro, so I don't mind going out of my way to get games, I just don't want to waste my time on crap. Recently we liked: >Gunstar Heroes >Rock 'N Roll Racing >Tetrisphere >Contra 1&3 >Gauntlet >Diablo >Toe Jam & Earl He seems to prefer co-ops, but can handle competitive. We're evenly matched at most games. tl;dr Recommend me some multiplayer goodness.

Has anyone here ever sold their collection? How do you properly do this? Thinking of consolidating my collection down to the games I really love and selling off the games that just sit on my shelf. Basically looking for stories if you've done this. Did you regret it?

Aeon from Castlevania Judgment just caught your current character within his 13th Hour Lament attack. What comment does he make towards them as they are frozen in time? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7v5z1dO--Q#t=264

I've always wanted to get into retro video game collecting, but I was never able to build up a collection as a kid for various reasons that'd devolve into Blogshit. But now I've reached a point where I feel I can finally start building a collection, since I've reached a point where I know I can maintain said collection safely, but also have the resources to afford them now, and I think I'd like to start with building an Nintendo 64 one first. Though what I want to ask is, is there any guide, or general tips to start collecting fresh? Like, how to go about buying, where to import, games to get/avoid, how to keep your collection safe and good, and where to find them in the best possible condition? I want to do this right, so if there are any guides, or tips you guys have, I'd love to hear them. Also side question, is the N64 region free? I've always wondered that.

GBA not retro?

GBA not retro? 1 posts and 0 image replies omitted. Click to view.
I'm here just to ask and clarify something... Why the GBA is not considered retro yet? I mena, I know about the <1999 rule and all, but it's really fair to compare the handhelds generations with the home console ones? I mean, just look at some facts: -It's obvious that the technology of the handhelds from a generation are way far away from the corresponding home console, look at the dates: >Gameboy corresponds with Super Nintendo >Gameboy Color corresponds with Nintendo 64 >Gameboy Advance Corresponds with Nintendo Gamecube In roughly talking, the gameboy "backwards" 2 entire generations if we compare. >Gameboys was rethinked Game and Watch Games >Gameboy Color was pocket NES >Gameboy Advance waas pocket SNES Do you see were I'm going? Technically speaking, it's really unfair the GBA wasn't considered retro here on /vr/ yet. We got the Nintendo DS and the 3DS for the current generations, but the GBA is other story. What do you think? I made this thread for civilized debate. Maybe we can bury this topic waiting for the next generation of gaming devices, or maybe we can made an agreement so the janitors and moot will accept this.
