Hey /vr/, I'm running MS-DOS 6.22 on a VM, and I was wondering where I can download DOS games as .img files. I keep running into websites that have them as executables, or have recompiled them to work with XP, and so on. I just want the floppy versions, so I can load them into the VM and either install them or run them off the floppy, as the individual game calls for and as they were originally intended. Does anyone know of a website or repository like this?

I'm so bored /vr/. You guys are so boring lately. I can't remember the last time you posted something interesting. Plus there's no autistic arguments going on and there haven't been any in ages. Everything is in this boring state of harmony which would be fine if there were actually some interesting threads or something. Boring board srsly.

Help finding an old DOS game

I used to play a point and click adventure game when I was little. You got to it by typing in "MENU" and then "GAMES." In the same menu was Cosmo and Duke Nukem. It had a part with a canoe and then you'd click/hover over the front and a green face would appear and talk to you. I know this is vague, but I really want to find this long lost game. Thanks.

Best Anno game for multiplayer? Bonus points for possibility of having a persistent game (drop in and out, player hosted). No DRM shit. If not Anno, something similar. Must feature naval battles and resources at stake. City building is bonus. I think our aim is to have some paced strategy, hence why I'd have dropping in and out of games. So shit can still happen when you go take a nap.

I found my Sega Mega Drive 2 that my cousin gave me like 12 years ago and it's working fine, although of 3 controllers, only one is barely working. I'm looking at Ebay to buy a new one and I see many that say are "Compatible with Sega Genesis". Would these work or do I need the ones that are just for Sega Mega Drive 2? What about Sega Mega Drive 1 controller? I can't wait to play my old Mortal Kombat with someone.

Red Bull Music Academy is doing a documentary all about video game music. I'm pretty surprised by how they actually did their research and how not half assed this is. There will be a new episode every Thursday until October 9th. Here is episode 1 of this series: http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/diggin-in-the-carts

What's your favorite console design? I really love the NES 2 or Top Loader. This thing is comfy and saves quite a bit of space.

I'm looking for a specific game from the 90ies which was played in western arcades during that period of time, the problem is that I can't remember the name at all. I'll try to describe it as good as I can, maybe it'll ring some bells for you. I remember the hero being some kind of stereotypical jrpg-hero with (blond?) spiky hair in a sidescrolling jump n' run world, the artstyle was quite colorful - almost similiar to Rayman's. He didn't have any companions, infact he was alone the entire game. The enemies in the very first level were some kind of goblins who were capable of jumping onto you which pretty much resulted in instant death. Some of the bosses were quite surreal and crazy looking, I remember a giant crescent-shaped moon and an anthromorphic sun who served as a boss duo in the later stages of the game. The last thing I remember was the ending in which the hero grabbed onto a star and simply flew away. The game was pretty damn challenging and left quite the impression on me which is why I decided to re-disover it after all those years. I hope some of you have an idea what title it could be.
