What's /3/'s experience with motionbuilder on animation? I was thinking of trying it, just wanted to check with you guys first.

Motionbuilder is more for dealing with Mocap data... It's used in conjunction with Maya usually. MB to handle the mocap and then it's transfered to Maya after the cleanup.

Nah, if you're looking for an app for animation, Maya reigns supreme there, and the rigging tools are much better as well. Motionbuilder is only handy for people who do VFX, since it provides a built-in bipedal and quadrapedal rig for quick match-moving with.

I am currently doing animation using motion builder and it is a quite powerful tool for hand made animation as well.

I use it all the time for hand animating. Its a really great tool.
