I like the preset materials, they allow you to work fast for product presentation, and you can sync your project with your 3D editing software (at least it works for the most common ones).

But the animation tool sucks, a lot.

I dunno. The logo looks more like it'd belong to a car company. Ditch the chrome ring around it and it'll probably look fine.

Yes it was, thanks.

>preset materials
Memorize the important bits of this, everything else about creating materials should be easy.
Seriously, you should get yourself well practised with creating your own materials, then it will be faster to make a material than to find it.

It's a shortcut program to make things look good.

Not a necessity.

It comes with pre made materials, and the renderer is pre configured.
You can achieve the keyshot look, or even better, if you configure your renderer on your own, then save it as a preset, but it's mainly for those who just want something that looks good QUICK.

Personally, I'm a control freak and I love having all the bells and whistles of a renderer at my fingertips instead of using keyshot.

-So anyone who's a professional knows there's a fair chance a person is using keyshot because they can't set up a render properly....so it's fine if you want a job as a modeler. But as a texture artist...MAYBE if you can import your own material and edit them in keyshot. You certainly won't get a job as a render artist with keyshot, cause a caveman can do it.

You can also look at it this way, toolbag is also a presentation program, for those who don't wanna set up UDK/unity/whatever to make their in game render look good.

everything it does can be achieved without purchasing it, but it takes time and work.
