College GPA Anonymous 05/16/14(Fri)13:32 UTC+1 No.14269678 Report

So, I want some advice on GPA's in college and my future.

I was a 4.0 student in highschool, took all the honors classes and got A's and I'm currently enrolled in a tough engineering school for Computer Science. Last semester I got 3 A- and a B- in Physics which I felt bad about, and this semester I've gotten two B's so far and the others I'm not sure.

I feel like an idiot half the time, everyone on my floor has been way smarter than me and most of them got all A's both semesters and are on honor roll. I hate myself that everyone around me is smarter than me and doing better, I used to dream about going to Grad school and even getting a PH'D, but it looks like that dream is long gone. I just don't know what to do.

Over reacting

If you want Grad school and phd then do undergraduate research.

If you ask yourself "Am I smart" and you say no then you are an idiot. People on your floor sound like try hards. Try to make friends with the non try hards.

Education isn't about the GPA it's about learning and enjoying what you are doing

this. You haven't fucked up your future until it's the summer after your sophomore year and you're working at some store or restaurant.

But I know most of them aren't try hards, a lot of them a pretty cool dudes and are just really smart. I know I was lazy and should've tried harder, but I feel like crap most of the time.

I'm completely un-tech savy compared to everyone else in Computer Science, I've never programmed before this year and I've never built a computer because I grew up poor in the country.

I just feel like an idiot compared to before, I don't feel smart anymore and have taken a major nose dive in self esteem

Honestly just sounds like you are depressed.

You might not be taking the life change to college too well.

Might want to talk to your schools therapists or something. That is the one piece of advice I would have given my younger self

>talk to school therapist

I'd prefer not to talk to any sort of school therapist or therapist of any kind because I want to stay out of the US mental health system and not end up a drugged zombie and blacklisted from every job ever.

So I am a computer science major also. My first year at college was easier than the rest. This is only because my High School prepared me for it. I took AP calculus and a few programming classes.

First year of college was just regurgitation from High school so I did better than usual. Your floormates might be in the same boat.

My school had no programming classes or Physics and I didn't get to take Calculus because of some scheduling issues, but Calculus isn't required to graduate. The only AP classes we had were English and History
