Anonymous 08/21/14(Thu)05:59 UTC+1 No.14652185 Report

I'll try to make this short. I went to on-campus orientation today. I had fun and the people seemed really nice. So now I have a last minute option to switch from online classes to on campus classes, because I don't want to miss out on the fun in college.
My alternative is staying at home with my family, doing my freshman year of college with online courses and keeping my UPS job. I have little to no friends to socialize with at home. The UPS job says it hires people 21 and over to be part-time drivers, and they make triple what I am making now. I am currently a preloader for UPS so ill be making some money, plus I'll get seniority (really important at UPS) and insurance if I stay long enough. This year I turn 20 so I'm aiming to be a package car driver for UPS.
UPS might let me keep my job but take me off the payroll till I get out of college, because they did it for a kid that just left for college at our hub. The risk for me is that UPS might say no, so I might have to quit the job, and the housing for the college I'm looking for might not be available so ill have to completely opt out of college for that year, (but people might drop out of the housing option, so the college is probably going to open spaces for people on the waiting list (i.e. me))
Also, if I go on campus, ill have to work at a campus job to get any extra stuff I want, cause my financial aid will be shot. If I don't go, I'll have some extra money to work with.
So here's the big question: Go to college, or work college from home with a job? Is the On-Campus life that life changing? It seemed fun. Give up security for freedom?
