so /adv/

As a man who has grown up in the high-tech generation of interwebs, I am unable to just fucking sit and watch a movie or a television program for more than an hour without being high or drunk or something.

Meaning my attention span is very short and I need constant stimulation to kill time, or get high.

I don't have a gaming system and I only have league of legends to play. I also have 0 friends.

What can I do for entertainment besides this godforsaken website where people are just mean to each other 24/7? I mean, I don't mind cynicism 20 hours a day but then for the remaining 4 hours I kinda need to be free from criticisms.

I would get high except I can't because there's a job opportunity that MIGHT drug test me.

Thoughts?

That kind of patience and focus takes practice. You're physically able to do it. You're just not in the habit of it.

As far as keeping yourself occupied with a constantly-changing set of stimuli, try working out. It's a forbidden word to say in polite company, but Crossfit might be a good exercise program for you. Also HIIT cardio. Lots of moving around from one thing to the next, variations in pacing, etc. Plus you can consume media while running/biking/etc.

Go figure, it's the same issue as the one with which you opened your post.

Sticking through a long and sometimes boring story (visually depicted or otherwise) takes discipline. Working out even when you are physically lazy and lack motivation also takes discipline. You racka dissiprine OP.

Sometimes we've gotta stick with things for the sake of the big picture.
